@@AdikanIra more people where? obeying what laws? in public, or privately? if you are a millenial living in a metropolitan area, chances are doing psychoactive substances recreationally IS conformism. alcohol falls under the same umbrella, and just about everyone and their mom and grandma does at least that, if not smoke cigarettes. nobody doing drugs is living on the 'cutting edge'. you haven't discovered some 'enhanced' way of life that anybody is missing out on. chances are you're in a phase, God knows i had mine and so have many others. it is what it is, but please don't act like this recreational thing you've done for probably under a decade is a good long-term life choice, it's really not. and whoever has been doing drugs for fun for longer than a decade, well, you've probably doped yourself up too much to see how low of a ceiling you've made for your life in general. yes, we all have free will and choice, especially in the first world, thank God, but there is a huge difference between what i can do right now and what is actually wise for me to do in the long run. the gulf between those is wisdom, or the lack of it. the Bible says the fear (reverence) of the LORD (YHWH God the "I am") is the beginning of wisdom. have your fun while it lasts, but please consider seeking Jesus when that all wears off. and enjoy this music anyway, because God blessed these musicians pretty well.

@@meowster101 Remastering requires using the originals and just adjusting levels. There's no magic wand to make something that's of low quality suddenly sounding amazing. Which is what they were getting at. Actually capturing and recording sound at this point was REALLY good. The issue was that the average person didn't have studio quality equipment to play it back, so producing the records didn't need to match the quality of how it sounds in the studio, or in this case live.
@@HieronymousLex I've been playing the drums for over 10 years. This video was taken before felt pieces and sleeves protectors were used on cymbal stands. Those keep the vibrations from transferring to the stage and into microphones and also keeps the hardware on the stand from coming loose. This is not a problem anymore, as cymbal stands are made much better, and the parts I mentioned before are consistently used. Thank you for rephrasing what I already said.
@@HieronymousLex and it actually doesn't happen all the time. The stand he's using is an old flimsy single braced stand and he had to pound the hell out of it with double stops on mallets just to get it to fall. Not a normal occurrence, or modern equipment. But knowing Art, he meant to do that.

50年以上前の日本には数多くのジャズミュージシャンが招聘され、全国でコンサートが開催された。 印象に残っているのはアートブレイキー・バディリッチ・シャリーマンの3大ドラマーの共演だった。日本でしか出来ない豪華ドラマーの競演だった。まだまだ日本は貧しかったが、良き時代だった気がする。
最初の方もはやアフリカ音楽だな。
すごくかっこいい。生で聞いてみたいなぁ
66歳だけど、二十代の頃、ギャグメッセンジャーズと言うお笑いトリオが居ましたね。凄く人気だったけど。その頃からジャズは好きだったし、アートブレイキーは知ってたけど、ジャズメッセンジャーズは知らなかった。グレンミラーとかサッチモとかディジーガレスビーとか秋吉敏子とか夢中になってた。
Ed, Edd, n Eddy, out of all things, taught me music could tell a story without words
DAAAAAAAAAAAMN! And more than sixty years later, folks are still using this as a reference for how to “be”, AND RIGHTLY SO!

高校生の頃アートブレーキ―の「モーニン」やこの「チュニジアの夜」を聞いて「スゲー」と興奮しました。トランペットを始めた頃彼のLPを買い、彼の最高の演奏であるモーニンを必死に聞き教室で吹きまくっていた頃を懐かしく思い出されます。
レコードしか聴いたことなくて初めて映像みたけど、アートブレイキーのドラミングに驚嘆。
1958年の映像とか。映画「グリーンブック」を見ても分かる通り、一流のミュージシャンでも黒人は白人の使うホテルやレストランは入れないなどの差別が残っていた時代だったろうなとふと思った。

中学生の頃中の良かった友人宅には彼のお父さんが愛用している本格的なオーディオセットがあり、彼は既にアート ブレーキ-を聞いておりドラムも独学でかなりの腕となり、後にはセミプロのミュージシャンとなりました。
たまたまUA-camでブレイキーを知ってこの動画にたどり着いた。動画が始まって最初のドラムで鳥肌が立った。今見ても何の遜色もない、というかうますぎる…!もっと早く知りたかったアーティスト
この初来日のメッセンジャーの生を観れたのは、中学一年でした。
