If I'm not incorrect you can find him both in the shop as well as outside by the third districts entrance door, both at the same time. You never see him leave the shop, in fact the second you step out he is already in the other spot. Thus he is obviously part of a secret shape shifting lizard species. 🦎 🦎 🦎
When Aqua jumped into the darkness for one of her closest friends, ready to stay in the darkness for potentially ever, I knew I couldn't love any Kingdom Hearts character more. She's as precious of a friend as one could ever hope to be.
Mine too. I think they could almost be considered the emotional backbone of the franchise. Each little snippet of Xion through the games leading up to 3 felt momentous. I knew she would return, because otherwise why would they keep remembering a character that had been forgotten, and Roxas' journey is just wonderful and more human and realistic than Sora's. Everyone loves Roxas as a main hero even if he isn't THE main.
It's so cool hearing what the series means to different people and everyone's favorite characters, here's mine.. 1. Xemnas 2. Ansem, Seeker of Darkness I feel like they kill it every time they are on screen. When I think of my favorite moments of the series, it's always their appearances. As a kid playing KH1 for the first time when Sora encounters Ansem in the cave in KH1, that is the moment I knew I was in for something really amazing. The final boss fights at the end of KH1 and KH2 are so cinematic and intense, it really made those games special. (I'm a big fan of KH3 as well, for the record)
Sora is my favorite by far. His attitude and positive outlook on everything is so great. Plus when I play games I always put myself into the character and I envision myself as that character, and Sora being the first character you play with he just can’t not be my favorite!!! Roxas and riku are a close second tho, love both of their development

@@johnpantag472the thing about sora is he always had a lot of supports by a lot of his friends throughout his journey. He has Donald and Goofy with him the entire time. His island is also restored by the end of kh1 but he chose not to return so honestly speaking, though Sora did have some rough time, it’s not even comparable to Roxas.

Great list HMK, Sora will always be my number one, his never giving will, him being ready to sacrifice himself for his friends, his braveness and attitude toward life is what I hope to see in myself as a person. He really is the "Clear Sky" just a vision of the good future to come. When and If I become a father if I have a son he is definetly going to be named Sora. Not because of "Oh yeah he is my favourite game character" nerd talk, but because I want him to be someone like him. Being named the same should put him on the right path. Let's hope the mama agrees on this aswell tho :P

Sora will always be my number 1 KH character. I always loved and admired his cheerful attitude and optimism. Plus he's a huge dork so watching him just be his goofy self in the series always puts a smile on my face. But if I had to pick another favorite besides him, it would probably be Kairi. I honestly love her character a lot. Even thought she's pushed to the side for most of the series, I feel like she has a lot of hidden qualities that get overlooked sometimes. She's a patient and determined character and kinda sassy sometimes lol now that she's being brought into the spot light a bit more, I hope that we'll get to see her grow into an even more amazing character.
My favorites are Ven and Marluxia. Ven was my first choice ever going into Birth By Sleep and I love how he played with his reverse grip and quick attacks! The final fight between him and Vanitas to break the x-blade was a truly memorable fight to me. Marluxia showed that he was capable of great things considering he was willing to betray the Organization for his own motives and his boss forms in CoM and Re:CoM showed that he had a great deal of power. That being said, I was happy seeing them both in Union Cross to see more of what they were capable of as fellow keyblade wielders and union leaders!
I can respect your list even if I have different favorites, which this video inspired me to think about so I'll go ahead and post mine here. Disclaimer: I didn't play UnionX or Dark Road and only got recaps of their stories so I can't say I really even have much of an emotional connection to most characters in those. 20. Now I'll start right off the bat by saying this is a fairly close call between Ansem Seeker of Darkness and Master Xehanort making it into the top 20. I have a lot of nostalgia for Ansem SOD as the first KH's big bad but he was a bit of a one-note villain who I think could have been fleshed out just a little more, and MX's whole story is interesting although I feel like his master 5D chess schemes are a tad unrealistic which is why I didn't rank either of them higher. 19. MoM. He's in a pretty close spot as your list and for the exact same reasons, this guy's a mystery to me whose story I really want to uncover in future games. No clue yet if he'll be the next big bad, but if so I'm excited to learn more about a new villain who for once isn't another version of Xehanort. 18. Ansem the Wise. This can be a pretty polarizing character between people who feel for his tragic story and those who think he crossed the line with how he treated Namine and Roxas as DiZ, I think however that his polarizing nature is the mark of an interesting character 17. Larxene. She's kind of taking Marluxia's place in this list for me because on top of her having similar roots as a former Keyblade wielder, she kind of outshone Marluxia because her savage personality and challenging fights in CoM made me love to hate her, which is a good trait to have in villainous characters 16. Saix. Also pretty ruthless in a more cold way. I still have a bit of a hard time accepting him as a likeable person even with his backstory giving him a bit more depth, but still very much a memorable character. 15. Kairi. Now I won't be like the Kairi haters, despite her not being able to do much in KH1 and KH2 I felt like she played a strong role in those games as a loveable character that you really wanted to save. It was a bit of a disappointment that this trend continued to some extent in KH3 (before ReMind fixed that) and Melody of Memory since her journey transformed into learning to be a capable fighter as well, but I also have hope that she'll grow into her own as a fighter in future games as well. Special shoutout to Olette too because she also embodied the spirit of a character being strong despite not being a fighter, but she did not make the list because her role wasn't as prominent, but that does bring me to my next character on the list. 14. Namine. I find it funny that Kairi haters complain about her lack of combat achievements but never bring up Namine who's never even fought at all. But yeah, her magic powers to rearrange memories is both fascinating and honestly terrifying because she could potentially have a lot of power over even the most powerful characters if she so chose to mess with their memories. But her nature in not wanting to do this and choosing instead to return to Kairi when she knows that means her actual existence will end (at least until her return which she had no way of knowing) 13. Yozora. I can respect your reasons for putting him close to the top in your list, just like the MoM I also really want to figure out what this guy's story is, but until we learn more I couldn't put him higher up the list myself. 12. Terra. We all know the jokes people make about Terra being fairly gullible, but I for one appreciated that he was a well intentioned character who never judged anyone for their appearance even if they truly were as evil as they looked. I feel like if Sora was in Terra's shoes for BBS he'd make similar decisions and could have easily wound up the same way. But regardless, our boy finally made things right in KH3. 11. Ventus. His childlike nature was pretty endearing and it's interesting to learn of his roots in KHUX. I still feel like his presence was a bit lacking, but maybe we might get games showing his journey with Aqua and Terra into the Realm of Darkness, sure it was part of finding Sora which got is now moot since we know he's in Quadratum, but maybe they uncover something else leading to an interesting sidestory. 10. Vanitas. His mega edgelord personality is pretty cheesy but also strangely likeable, I enjoyed him more as a villain in BBS than MX. One thing I always found strange though was in KH3 his final words were about how he intentionally chose darkness, I feel like that can't exactly be totally true, his existence was kind of dictated by the fact that he was created as a creature of darkness so I doubt he could have ever had the agency to choose otherwise and even if he did I doubt MX would have allowed him to choose this. It's kind of tragic in a sense when you think of it that way. 9. Xigbar/Braig/Luxu, and I'll go ahead and skip to the next character to talk about both. 8. Luxord, this is pretty much just like your list aside from different rank numbers, but the two are close together for the same reasons. I didn't pay them much mind in KH2 beyond having likeable personalities and I can't say I expected them back then to have this much depth revealed about them by this point. Luxord is even more fascinating to me now that his original version seemingly has ties to Quadratum and Yozora, so I can't wait to find out more about him. 7. Axel/Lea. I really should have gotten him into number 8 spot like you did since that was his rank in Organization XIII, but you took the words out of my mouth for how great Axel is. Got it memorized? 6. Sora. Yeah I'm putting best boi here and not higher, I'm pretty sure it's scientifically impossible to dislike Sora (although for crying out loud Sora go see your parents when you finally come home again!) so he's gotta make the list one way or another, but I'm sure you'll see my reasoning for liking my top 5 even more. 5. Xemnas. Best villain hands down, he had so much more depth right from the getgo with KH2 without needing a lot added to it in the later games, on top of an amazing final boss fight. 4. Aqua. She is best mom and a total badass for going through a decade in the KH equivalent of hell alone, I appreciated that she was strong willed and was able to survive and make it back to kick ass again in KH3 while also having a pretty deep and realistic story showing that her inner demons became more and more intense throughout all those long years alone, it really makes her tragedy and eventual return hit a lot harder. She would be best girl, but that spot goes to... 3. Xion. Now I mentioned earlier that I think characters (both male and female) can be strong even if they aren't seasoned fighters, but I have no shame admitting that I love seeing female characters kick ass in combat as well. Now sure, I list her higher than Aqua who is probably stronger than Xion, but this wasn't just about their power levels but also how it relates to their story. Xion's powers came from others around her without her knowing until later on in 358/2 Days and these powers would often grow stronger or weaker depending on what was going on around her, and at times she would be crippled into states of unconsciousness. All the same, all she really wanted was to just spend time with her friends eating ice cream, she only fought because she was told to and because she would be called useless and even threatened to be turned into a Dusk or destroyed if she didn't do her job. Plus her job was just a part of an evil scheme that she didn't know was evil until she learned the truth and she was then put into an insanely difficult position that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy: giving up her existence including even everyone's memory of her. Now again to compare her to Aqua, both suffered severe tragedies, but for me it's one thing to consider being in a position where I had to sacrifice myself to save others, but if I was told doing so would also mean nobody would remember me I'd honestly be terrified of that fate, yet she still chose it willingly, which is why she is best girl for me. 2. Roxas. Easily a close second to first place and just like you said he felt like the most human. I've always found Roxas' story so relatable in my real life. I could go on another tangent like I did with Xion, but I think most people would understand why Roxas is super relatable, which leads me to the winner. 1. Riku. Yup, gotta go with my boi. Also very much a relatable character, but also incredibly inspiring. Hands down the best character growth in the entire series and his maturity now is how I strive to be in my own life knowing he's suffered a lot with his insecurities but was able to overcome them.
Xion is way too low. She’s easily my favourite character in the series. She has the best theme, best boss fight and her reunion with Axel and Roxas is perfection. She’s also just so sweet and adorable
One of the most delicate and endearing characters ever. One of the emotional backbones of the story. She starts off her journey surrounded by a shroud of mystery even bigger than Roxas', she is often bullied and patronised, treated as worthless, she feels so grateful and privileged to be accepted by Roxas and Axel, and then, when she discovers her true identity, she was corageous and selfless enough to follow through with that tough choice. She suffers tragedy and fades away ... and her return is such a poignant moment. I lost it when Sora called her name and she started crying. Most of her appearences on screen made me feel something. Even the more casual scenes. Props to Alison Stoner on a fantastic job.
When did you guys first discover HMK? I discovered him through his famous video of “How Sora could work in Smash” in 2019 I believe and whenever I think of Kingdom Hearts I think of HMK! He’s so passionate about Kingdom Hearts and many more things, I love it! My top 5 favorite Kingdom Hearts characters are: 1. Sora 2. Naminè 3. Xion 4. Vanitas 5. Zexion
My introduction to HMK was when he made What we need to see in KH3: parts 1, 2, and 3. I think that was in 2013, wasn't it? Or at least, that's when I first watched them.
Was cool seeing yozora at num 2, and Roxas is my num 1 as well. You should do a top KH3 battles list, like with the primary antagonist and protagonist, but including Mickey Donald and Goofy, or a top keyboard or non keyboard wielders list!
The scene in kh3 when xahanort kills kairi and riku runs up the rock and screams "Xahanort!" Hits me so because in a way xahanort had always been with him. 1. He had heard the legend of xahanort since he was a kid. 2. Ansem was always a thorn in rikus side since the beginning 3. Terranort sent kairi to his island 🏝 That would forever change fate. 4. Xemnas.....shall I go on? In conclusion xahanort has been with him from day 1. It's as if he is talking to a father or a long lost friend.
I really hope that the Roxas and Xion stay relevant. I mean their character arc is over so I hope they get something to do. Maybe something with Sora or helping Lea and Isa find Subject X? Idk Also I wish that Naminé was on the list but I totally get it. I'm just glad that Roxas is #1!!!

This was an amazing video HMK! I can tell how much love and effort you put into it. My favorite characters would have to be Xemnas and Aqua. Xemnas is one of my favorite villains in video game history because of his voice, music, and epic boss fights. Aqua is just super cool and I love how OP she is in BBS. I always considered her the main protagonist of that game since you play as her the most.
Im so happy Gula is on the list! I swear he's such an underappreciated/underrated (and even complex if you think about it) character that gets soo overlooked and hated by most KH Fans because they think hes "boring" or "mean" or "1-dimensional" when hes anything but those things and it hurts that in most KH fans/youtubers characters tier list ranking, he's all the way at the bottom when he deserves to be way up at the top. Gula is easily in my top 10 KH characters and I cant wait for to see what his and the other foretellers roles will be in KH4 and future titles.

Xigbar's my favorite, even before he became more important around the time of DDD and into KH3. So you can imagine how happy I am that he's sticking around for the next saga.
I remember watching your original top list and seeing Roxas as your number 1. Now here we are again, and he hasn't left the mantle of best character. He's the same to me as well as Xion is. I can't choose between Roxas and Xion because watching both of their stories play out hit me in the feels. When I first played KH2 (My favorite game in the series and in another debate, my favorite game of all time), I wasn't sure how to feel about Roxas because I wanted to play as Sora, and since I never played Chain of Memories, I had no idea what happened to him. So I play through the rest of 2, not feeling that much emotions to him. I was a kid at the time and didn't have a complete contextual understanding of what was going on. It wasn't until I got older and replayed it that I started feeling sorrow for Roxas. However, what truly cemented him and Xion as my favorite characters in KH was playing 358/2 Days in college. Seeing their friendship along with Axel/Lea develop, grow, become strained, it was all a feels trip because you wanted what was best for them. But unfortunately, Days is a tragedy. Roxas leaves Axel and the Organization, and is forced to kill Xion. (Which broke me. It is the only time I can remember in 29 years of living that a character dying made me burst into tears and sobbing uncontrollably) Then the ending plays out which brings us back to KH2. There's so much more I could type about these two but I'm already typing a mini-novel. XD And yes I was happy crying at their reunion and fangasming when I got my babies as party members in KH3. XD So to answer the original question, I'll leave my top 3 characters below: 1.Roxas and Xion 2.Riku 3.Axel/Lea
Couldn't have said it all better myself. After I killed Xion (which was such an emotionally challenging level to do) and the game ended, I stared at that final picture of Roxas jumping out of his cloak and leaving it all behind. Dearly Beloved piano reprise was playing in the background. I stared and listened for 20 minutes. I became transfixed. What an experience Days was.

It's a pretty unconventional take but one of my absolute favorite KH characters is rarely talked about and pretty much never considered as their own character. Data Sora. Data Sora was definitely Sora but he was forced to mature much faster and really face strife and real darkness internal conflict. He was very self sacrificing even knowing he wasn't the real thing. That character was a true hero for sure.
Gotta say another of my Favorit Characters is Xigbar hes just such an entertaining asshole every time He is on screen and his voice actor knocked it out of the Park But yeah no one will replace Sora as my Nr 1 He carries everyones burden with a smile and Strats forward into the Unknown

Bbs trio bond just felt the strongest among all trios.
And that’s for her good friend. She also saves Riku and tries to defend Ansem. Like what an amazing character.

@@johnpantag472the thing about sora is he always had a lot of supports by a lot of his friends throughout his journey. He has Donald and Goofy with him the entire time. His island is also restored by the end of kh1 but he chose not to return so honestly speaking, though Sora did have some rough time, it’s not even comparable to Roxas.

Sora will always be my number one, his never giving will, him being ready to sacrifice himself for his friends, his braveness and attitude toward life is what I hope to see in myself as a person. He really is the "Clear Sky" just a vision of the good future to come. When and If I become a father if I have a son he is definetly going to be named Sora. Not because of "Oh yeah he is my favourite game character" nerd talk, but because I want him to be someone like him. Being named the same should put him on the right path. Let's hope the mama agrees on this aswell tho :P

Roxas is and will always be number 1 for me, his story and character development is beyond amazing, almost every epic moments of the saga involve him in some way.
Sora's island was destroyed he lost his friends his best friend gave Into the darkness and he had to sacrifice himself for kairi to get her heart back. The he fought ansem and then he went in castle oblivion and got manipulated and lost his memories. Then he had to find his friends again. He spent all of his time searching for Riku and kairi while the org is also manipulating him to kill heartless for them to get hearts. Then he almost lost himself and gave Into the darkness. Later he lost everyone and had to bring them back sacrificing himself for them and kairi later on. Them he was lost for one year till he faced. Yozora. Roxas didn't go through anything In front of all of that.
Yozora should not be above Sora or Riku. Maybe with more developed right by them but riku and sora are just to good

Sora will always be my number 1 KH character. I always loved and admired his cheerful attitude and optimism. Plus he's a huge dork so watching him just be his goofy self in the series always puts a smile on my face. But if I had to pick another favorite besides him, it would probably be Kairi. I honestly love her character a lot. Even thought she's pushed to the side for most of the series, I feel like she has a lot of hidden qualities that get overlooked sometimes. She's a patient and determined character and kinda sassy sometimes lol now that she's being brought into the spot light a bit more, I hope that we'll get to see her grow into an even more amazing character.
My favorites are Ven and Marluxia. Ven was my first choice ever going into Birth By Sleep and I love how he played with his reverse grip and quick attacks! The final fight between him and Vanitas to break the x-blade was a truly memorable fight to me. Marluxia showed that he was capable of great things considering he was willing to betray the Organization for his own motives and his boss forms in CoM and Re:CoM showed that he had a great deal of power. That being said, I was happy seeing them both in Union Cross to see more of what they were capable of as fellow keyblade wielders and union leaders!
What about Terra? He was the only character so strong that refuse to die even when lost his heart and body

I can respect your list even if I have different favorites, which this video inspired me to think about so I'll go ahead and post mine here. Disclaimer: I didn't play UnionX or Dark Road and only got recaps of their stories so I can't say I really even have much of an emotional connection to most characters in those.
20. Now I'll start right off the bat by saying this is a fairly close call between Ansem Seeker of Darkness and Master Xehanort making it into the top 20. I have a lot of nostalgia for Ansem SOD as the first KH's big bad but he was a bit of a one-note villain who I think could have been fleshed out just a little more, and MX's whole story is interesting although I feel like his master 5D chess schemes are a tad unrealistic which is why I didn't rank either of them higher.
19. MoM. He's in a pretty close spot as your list and for the exact same reasons, this guy's a mystery to me whose story I really want to uncover in future games. No clue yet if he'll be the next big bad, but if so I'm excited to learn more about a new villain who for once isn't another version of Xehanort.
18. Ansem the Wise. This can be a pretty polarizing character between people who feel for his tragic story and those who think he crossed the line with how he treated Namine and Roxas as DiZ, I think however that his polarizing nature is the mark of an interesting character
17. Larxene. She's kind of taking Marluxia's place in this list for me because on top of her having similar roots as a former Keyblade wielder, she kind of outshone Marluxia because her savage personality and challenging fights in CoM made me love to hate her, which is a good trait to have in villainous characters
16. Saix. Also pretty ruthless in a more cold way. I still have a bit of a hard time accepting him as a likeable person even with his backstory giving him a bit more depth, but still very much a memorable character.
15. Kairi. Now I won't be like the Kairi haters, despite her not being able to do much in KH1 and KH2 I felt like she played a strong role in those games as a loveable character that you really wanted to save. It was a bit of a disappointment that this trend continued to some extent in KH3 (before ReMind fixed that) and Melody of Memory since her journey transformed into learning to be a capable fighter as well, but I also have hope that she'll grow into her own as a fighter in future games as well. Special shoutout to Olette too because she also embodied the spirit of a character being strong despite not being a fighter, but she did not make the list because her role wasn't as prominent, but that does bring me to my next character on the list.
14. Namine. I find it funny that Kairi haters complain about her lack of combat achievements but never bring up Namine who's never even fought at all. But yeah, her magic powers to rearrange memories is both fascinating and honestly terrifying because she could potentially have a lot of power over even the most powerful characters if she so chose to mess with their memories. But her nature in not wanting to do this and choosing instead to return to Kairi when she knows that means her actual existence will end (at least until her return which she had no way of knowing)
13. Yozora. I can respect your reasons for putting him close to the top in your list, just like the MoM I also really want to figure out what this guy's story is, but until we learn more I couldn't put him higher up the list myself.
12. Terra. We all know the jokes people make about Terra being fairly gullible, but I for one appreciated that he was a well intentioned character who never judged anyone for their appearance even if they truly were as evil as they looked. I feel like if Sora was in Terra's shoes for BBS he'd make similar decisions and could have easily wound up the same way. But regardless, our boy finally made things right in KH3.
11. Ventus. His childlike nature was pretty endearing and it's interesting to learn of his roots in KHUX. I still feel like his presence was a bit lacking, but maybe we might get games showing his journey with Aqua and Terra into the Realm of Darkness, sure it was part of finding Sora which got is now moot since we know he's in Quadratum, but maybe they uncover something else leading to an interesting sidestory.
10. Vanitas. His mega edgelord personality is pretty cheesy but also strangely likeable, I enjoyed him more as a villain in BBS than MX. One thing I always found strange though was in KH3 his final words were about how he intentionally chose darkness, I feel like that can't exactly be totally true, his existence was kind of dictated by the fact that he was created as a creature of darkness so I doubt he could have ever had the agency to choose otherwise and even if he did I doubt MX would have allowed him to choose this. It's kind of tragic in a sense when you think of it that way.
9. Xigbar/Braig/Luxu, and I'll go ahead and skip to the next character to talk about both.
8. Luxord, this is pretty much just like your list aside from different rank numbers, but the two are close together for the same reasons. I didn't pay them much mind in KH2 beyond having likeable personalities and I can't say I expected them back then to have this much depth revealed about them by this point. Luxord is even more fascinating to me now that his original version seemingly has ties to Quadratum and Yozora, so I can't wait to find out more about him.
7. Axel/Lea. I really should have gotten him into number 8 spot like you did since that was his rank in Organization XIII, but you took the words out of my mouth for how great Axel is. Got it memorized?
6. Sora. Yeah I'm putting best boi here and not higher, I'm pretty sure it's scientifically impossible to dislike Sora (although for crying out loud Sora go see your parents when you finally come home again!) so he's gotta make the list one way or another, but I'm sure you'll see my reasoning for liking my top 5 even more.
5. Xemnas. Best villain hands down, he had so much more depth right from the getgo with KH2 without needing a lot added to it in the later games, on top of an amazing final boss fight.
4. Aqua. She is best mom and a total badass for going through a decade in the KH equivalent of hell alone, I appreciated that she was strong willed and was able to survive and make it back to kick ass again in KH3 while also having a pretty deep and realistic story showing that her inner demons became more and more intense throughout all those long years alone, it really makes her tragedy and eventual return hit a lot harder. She would be best girl, but that spot goes to...
3. Xion. Now I mentioned earlier that I think characters (both male and female) can be strong even if they aren't seasoned fighters, but I have no shame admitting that I love seeing female characters kick ass in combat as well. Now sure, I list her higher than Aqua who is probably stronger than Xion, but this wasn't just about their power levels but also how it relates to their story. Xion's powers came from others around her without her knowing until later on in 358/2 Days and these powers would often grow stronger or weaker depending on what was going on around her, and at times she would be crippled into states of unconsciousness. All the same, all she really wanted was to just spend time with her friends eating ice cream, she only fought because she was told to and because she would be called useless and even threatened to be turned into a Dusk or destroyed if she didn't do her job. Plus her job was just a part of an evil scheme that she didn't know was evil until she learned the truth and she was then put into an insanely difficult position that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy: giving up her existence including even everyone's memory of her. Now again to compare her to Aqua, both suffered severe tragedies, but for me it's one thing to consider being in a position where I had to sacrifice myself to save others, but if I was told doing so would also mean nobody would remember me I'd honestly be terrified of that fate, yet she still chose it willingly, which is why she is best girl for me.
2. Roxas. Easily a close second to first place and just like you said he felt like the most human. I've always found Roxas' story so relatable in my real life. I could go on another tangent like I did with Xion, but I think most people would understand why Roxas is super relatable, which leads me to the winner.
1. Riku. Yup, gotta go with my boi. Also very much a relatable character, but also incredibly inspiring. Hands down the best character growth in the entire series and his maturity now is how I strive to be in my own life knowing he's suffered a lot with his insecurities but was able to overcome them.

Xion is way too low. She’s easily my favourite character in the series. She has the best theme, best boss fight and her reunion with Axel and Roxas is perfection. She’s also just so sweet and adorable

One of the most delicate and endearing characters ever. One of the emotional backbones of the story. She starts off her journey surrounded by a shroud of mystery even bigger than Roxas', she is often bullied and patronised, treated as worthless, she feels so grateful and privileged to be accepted by Roxas and Axel, and then, when she discovers her true identity, she was corageous and selfless enough to follow through with that tough choice. She suffers tragedy and fades away ... and her return is such a poignant moment. I lost it when Sora called her name and she started crying. Most of her appearences on screen made me feel something. Even the more casual scenes. Props to Alison Stoner on a fantastic job.
When did you guys first discover HMK? I discovered him through his famous video of “How Sora could work in Smash” in 2019 I believe and whenever I think of Kingdom Hearts I think of HMK! He’s so passionate about Kingdom Hearts and many more things, I love it!

The scene in kh3 when xahanort kills kairi and riku runs up the rock and screams "Xahanort!" Hits me so because in a way xahanort had always been with him.
1. He had heard the legend of xahanort since he was a kid.

This was an amazing video HMK! I can tell how much love and effort you put into it. My favorite characters would have to be Xemnas and Aqua. Xemnas is one of my favorite villains in video game history because of his voice, music, and epic boss fights. Aqua is just super cool and I love how OP she is in BBS. I always considered her the main protagonist of that game since you play as her the most.

I swear he's such an underappreciated/underrated (and even complex if you think about it) character that gets soo overlooked and hated by most KH Fans because they think hes "boring" or "mean" or "1-dimensional" when hes anything but those things and it hurts that in most KH fans/youtubers characters tier list ranking, he's all the way at the bottom when he deserves to be way up at the top.
Gula is easily in my top 10 KH characters and I cant wait for to see what his and the other foretellers roles will be in KH4 and future titles.

I remember watching your original top list and seeing Roxas as your number 1. Now here we are again, and he hasn't left the mantle of best character. He's the same to me as well as Xion is. I can't choose between Roxas and Xion because watching both of their stories play out hit me in the feels. When I first played KH2 (My favorite game in the series and in another debate, my favorite game of all time), I wasn't sure how to feel about Roxas because I wanted to play as Sora, and since I never played Chain of Memories, I had no idea what happened to him. So I play through the rest of 2, not feeling that much emotions to him. I was a kid at the time and didn't have a complete contextual understanding of what was going on. It wasn't until I got older and replayed it that I started feeling sorrow for Roxas. However, what truly cemented him and Xion as my favorite characters in KH was playing 358/2 Days in college. Seeing their friendship along with Axel/Lea develop, grow, become strained, it was all a feels trip because you wanted what was best for them. But unfortunately, Days is a tragedy. Roxas leaves Axel and the Organization, and is forced to kill Xion. (Which broke me. It is the only time I can remember in 29 years of living that a character dying made me burst into tears and sobbing uncontrollably) Then the ending plays out which brings us back to KH2. There's so much more I could type about these two but I'm already typing a mini-novel. XD
And yes I was happy crying at their reunion and fangasming when I got my babies as party members in KH3. XD

After I killed Xion (which was such an emotionally challenging level to do) and the game ended, I stared at that final picture of Roxas jumping out of his cloak and leaving it all behind. Dearly Beloved piano reprise was playing in the background.
I stared and listened for 20 minutes.
I became transfixed. What an experience Days was.

It's a pretty unconventional take but one of my absolute favorite KH characters is rarely talked about and pretty much never considered as their own character. Data Sora. Data Sora was definitely Sora but he was forced to mature much faster and really face strife and real darkness internal conflict. He was very self sacrificing even knowing he wasn't the real thing. That character was a true hero for sure.
