- In the second episode Stig will attempt the most dangerous challenge yet. He will try and break his own World Record of HOLDING his breath underwater for over 22 minutes. As a warm up to his breathtaking record attempt Stig freedives with sharks and crocodiles on the unspoilt reefs of Cuba where he introduces the history of freediving, and where he gives an insight of the importance of yoga and meditation, for him to be able to break world records.
Throughout the show, Stig contributes to a whole new world of scientific research by allowing scientists to test and evaluate what happens to his body under the extreme physical and mental stress.

“You’re dancing with death not because you want to die, but because you want to live.”
That Is deep
I love that he has a good relationship with his grandmother :) that is so sweet
This is just fascinating. A real living and breathing Aquaman.
Lol amber heard
It is super fascinating
But he's completely still
I saw a doc about the world's deepest no tank free divers the guys are some tribe that do it for food
Literally what this guys doing and spear fishing at the same time mind blowing
@@DmoneyIndustry LU❤IT 😂😂😂
Hey, you're a beast, Steve. Amazing physical human being.
Wow. This is such an incredible feat. I hope Steve remains happy to settle with his 22 minute World Record Dive as it's not worth risking his life to better it when noone comes within 2 minutes of bettering it. Kudos to this superhuman effort ..I feel this record will stand for a very long time yet.
It's already been broken Lol over 24 minutes by someone else.
@@zthecat oh wow, really ..That's incredible 😮
@@ozgal6929 Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous to think about. I think it said it was in 2016.
@@zthecat Really? So this video was recorded before 2016? It was not mentioned on the description box though.
@@flornceb8578 They mentioned at one point in the video that it was 2013, I can't remember where though.
I don’t know who is more amazing to me…Stig or his Grandmother. She is in such amazing condition for 100 years young.
right???
Truly amazing. What a happy looking man too!
This is truly amazing
I rented "The Big Blue" back in 1988. Great movie. I am also a SCUBA diver so I love this topic.
Beyond amazing the power of spirit
Love it ❤
For information:
At the time, and still, the world record is 24:11 by Budimir Šobat set in 2018.
This video is specifically about breaking his *own* record.
It is now 24.36 by Budimir Sobat in march,2021
i know this comment is old and i'm watching this late, but this documentary is from 2013 when he still was world record holder.
What a brilliant, unbelievable effort by Stig🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤😅😅😅😊😊😊
A very admirable human being .
Amazing 👏
Speaking of Stig in the past tense at 42:45 scared me. I had to Google him just to make sure he was alive and well.
That is some going. Congrats
Damn granny is a beast, too. 100??!!
Beautiful shark .... 🏊🏾🤺
It’s amazing how he’s able to do this congratulations to you Steve keep up the good work
you actually believe this nonsense , its fake
alexey bateu o recorde incrivel
Stig* but yeah
Good ol’ Steve. What a champ.
Steve the miracle man.😊
Any mention of William Trubridge on hectometer dive?
cool film :)
They need to explain the idea of how he builds the 3rd lung. Like yes, I see him "packing" but scientifically it wasnt explained
I thought the same, then I realised this is youtube =).
you close the airwaves with your tongue, like a one way valve in a water toy and then just push in more air into their lunges, basically "overfilling" it with some extra litres
He isn’t actually making a third lung. He’s expanding the lungs to a point where it is the equivalent of having a third lung.
It’s packing. No cruel 3rd lung.
Let's not forget he is loading with 100% oxygen to stay under for 20+min...still incredible but he definitely can't do that with just normal air...
This makes wim hoff like a kiddy. 😆
Scuba Steve!!!!
@@peppergrinder8947 I live in india dharavi slum u know of it
I was expecting like 5 mins, but heard 22 mins 😱
That Benitez is a rising star 😂
My brother took this challenge and he broke his record but he is still going. Its been 2 days I am so proud of him.
Sorry to break it to you, but your brother is dead
😂😂😂 it’s been 7 mo is he still there lol
Congratulations, but the pharaoh is 3000 years ahead of him not breathing and it's still going on.
Been more than 1 year now, bro - he's the goat already! Please tell us when he's done!
Respect to Stig. A remarkeble person.this record can maby get broken but not by many. Maby one or at best two person in the whole world for the next 20 years can perhaps break it and set a new bar but i dont think we ever go past 30 min and if we do maby in 300 years lol
He is amazing
Just wow
I was impressed how lucid he remained and how he did not come out frantically gasping for air as I do after just 1 mn 😂
His reflexes are going to feel so useless that he is going to go to sleep and they will be like nah, we're going out partying. Then he'll never sleep again.
He's Aquaman's long lost brother 😊
Disastrous record for him 16 minutes.
My best record 30 seconds
He has pur oxygen before
I’m not even dissociated I’m just… impressed
👐👐👏
This is wonderful if you do it just because you love the experience. I get that, but dying at 28 for competition seems like a waste of a young life to me.
HI, dont fortget He has pure oxygen before this attempt.
That endopat score is incredible (1.75) the highest I have seen in my office is 1.1
Amazing ability
I live in india dharavi u know about it
the end part induce hurt into my stomach
Does anybody know what diving goggles he is wearing?
Wait 22 min with compressed air. I wonder if it was regular air or high O2 mix?
This sort of time is unimaginable. I struggle to reach 2 mins. Although have done it just.
The free divers off the Philippine islands can go 12 minutes 90 feet down while walking and holding a speer, a bag of big fish, looking out for tiger sharks trying to take his catch or leg. Try that. Not a hope. What he needs to do is do some sort of exercise relax then try it. Makes sense to me. Then he'll have loads of oxygen flying around and wait till its settling, then go for it!!
i though 5 min was Insanley good
Shallow water blackout kills, badasses, more often than beginners.
Life guards:
👁 👄 👁
Im struggling to do two minutes lol he's disappointed at 16m. He's a legend already. All the respect to him
16 m with pure oxygen though
Buscar un record, vivir obsesionado en un numero o marca, utilizando medios tan artificiales como puede ser oxigeno puro y comprimido en una piscina , es la antitesis a sentir el placer de la Apnea o de formar parte del mar , entendiendo sus fenomenos
😅am asthmatic to go free diving lessons for the 1st time @58!waaaa tomorrow am scared will dive 10seconds!lol
There's these people in Bali Indonesia. With such facilities and training I wonder what they could do...
It can’t be safe :)
Okay hold my beer, I’ll call my Badjoa friend he will annihilate your record
I love free diving but it needs to outlaw pre Oxygenation. It’s like letting Usan Bolt take every steroid under the sun.
oxygenation for 30-40 min then dive for 20 min
Seems a dumb idea to allow blood flow to one arm to be blocked off for five minutes to satisfy some scientists curiously.🤔
Regards Niels.
These "people" aren't mankind: they gotta be chimeras 😂! Nah, but for real 👀🐟
„Superhuman dive“ - is that that the attitude?
wouldn't water/salt temperature have a significant impact?? Frogs and other pond creatures are able to put themselves into a state of hibernation (slowing down heart rate etc.,) because of cold temperatures
❤❤❤👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
My grandpa should have the world record, he hasn't breathed for 10 years!
🤦🏻♀️🤣
Thanks for the Laugh😁😁😁
Lol
good sense of humour
Simple explanation, he’s a mutant, i think he could develop his full potential at my pal’s academy for gifted people....
unique mutant
The amount of ads on here are beyond reasonable. And you can't avoid them.
he should pretend to be a mermaid for little kids
or to be dead, for his mom
How is his ear resisting to the water pressure?
Ear plug?
equalization technique
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
I try to shut off internall organs....🤣🤣🤣🤣Realy ?
be water my friend
Didn't one of the previous record holders die from practicing in his pool?
It's Real or no???
Isso é real ou não ? 🇧🇷
Not the most dangerous he knows how long he can hold it for
1:37 I hate when they do this. 20 minutes on pure oxygen. They do the same thing with actors times.
Yes it’s still a amazing achievement but please be exact. This guy is a legend in the freediving community anyways.
The lil asians islanders who fish under water enter the chat
I dont get it why the producers of these shows go too close. Its always like: there is a great silence here, yet the guy is talking. Its like he wants to disturb a bit, just to show he is there. Going 50 steps away would be as easy.
If that man goes down on yo momma he's not coming up for air brah
Nobody can be firster.
What about Wim Hof?
Wim don't use 0xygen to help him hold his breathe
@@greglopez179
Oh, ok. I get it now.
🎆🌬🌌
Wtf is with the "Steve" thing, people?! lol
Maybe he had covid and didn’t know it?
What is the f...ng point of being
THE BEST THAN..
THE ONLY MAN WHO
at the end this most complicated addiction for recognition pushes him to break his own record.
How broken must be humans ego who doesn't know when to stop and basically wants to become god.
"The more you desire to be seen by others, the less you see your own self"
2o plus minutes under water is literally not believable.
To make the sport safer why not wear a small tank for emergency situations?
The record hás been broken. 24min3secs
My record is 1 minute ...
Thats good enough for us 👍🏻😜
The oxygen tank threw him off,its not how he trained originally, our body needs certain levels of carbon dioxide
Why does he look like a human bullet?
How??😂😅😮
22mins??? Come on!!! Really???
he has pure oxygen before
Ok but witout breathe O2 ...
Real 'Super Hero' powers. Remember folks this is real, the bible is just a story. I know what one I believe 😜
Is he advanced nitrox certified in order to be breathing that gas “mix” 100% o2
He has 5 pairs of lungs 😀
no, he had 10 watches, each shows 2 min.
Jaques Mayole eventually finished with suicide
Form of Maca tho ...tha thigh gap esp. ... 🤤🤤
sadly he couldnt get the slightest natural male erection cos it stopped the oxygen and blood flow to his phallic region. We called him Mr Flacid.
The only other thing more incredible than this guy is the amount of annoying adds they were able to cram into this video!!!
Don’t try to do this with no background. You could die.
How are none of them equalizing
they are able to do equalization without hand / without nose pinching.
First
who cares. get a life.
