Discovered this fascinating video after reading about the Codrington Library in today's Sunday Times. I know that the name "Codrington" has been dropped but wonder if the new name now is merely "All Souls College Library"
Interesting the part with the titel on the book block edge, never seen that in Germany before, but have seen it on prints where I thought that looks odd.
So what happened to the original bookshelves on which the books were kept? We see a "library" here in the sense of a collection of books, but not in the sense of a room or building in which the books were kept and used.
