    Hey love the content! Do you think for a future video you can do breakdown and tutorial on the standard pop pass. There's a few variations being the League one which goes end over end. the pros make it very aesthetic and it would be interesting to see if there's anything that can be implemented.

    • @TheRugbyTrainerTV
      @TheRugbyTrainerTV  15 днів тому +1

      Thanks mate! appreciate the comment. yes! great call. I'd love to get Fin Russel on or George Ford, both are very good at the pop pass ( end over end ) so the pop pass is a pass we all need to train as there is times and places for all passes to come into play. there isn't just one passing technique needed. even with spin passing. there are times were you will need to wrap the wrists around the ball to pull the ball back deeper while fixing the defence ( like sexton does so well). thanks for the suggestion, I will get to work.

    My coach used to tell me that my thumb should be in a more neutral position pointing down so the ball can roll off of my hand better...
    what are your thoughts on this?
    ^ May be just for learning the pass progression skills.

    • @TheRugbyTrainerTV
      @TheRugbyTrainerTV  15 днів тому

      Hey. Thanks for commenting. All coaches can teach it slightly different and it also depends on the type of pass. My advice would be try them both out and see which suits you best 🙌 let me know 👊

    Do you know what i think is the most undercoached aspect of passing?...
    Footwork.
    If you can, get your weight on the outside foot - the foot furthest from the receiver......
    So you can get a full range of torso movement while keeping your hips square.
    It's so simple and so important. Look at the clips. Every single one of those spin passes was made off the outside foot. No exceptions.
    This is coached really well in Rugby League. Union needs to catch up.

    • @TheRugbyTrainerTV
      @TheRugbyTrainerTV  14 днів тому +1

      Top point mate thanks for commenting. Agree... manipulating your weight by using your footwork is key to every pass, from both long to short passes. as you mentioned, its a skill we need to work on and hightlight, like boxing, if you can control and balance your own body weight, you can create the correct power needed in your pass, but also your can move and manage the defenders to create space for others. All by slightly adjusting your body shape

    They said never spin what’s your opinion?

    • @TheRugbyTrainerTV
      @TheRugbyTrainerTV  15 днів тому

      all depends on the situation, if you need to get the ball to your team mate or a space fast and cover a lot of ground then a spin pass is the ideal pass, as seen in many situations. if you need a short pass then a end over end pass is ideal. but I would encourage people to practise both spin and end over end. the more tools the better
