Cause he's the reason why Dean has no childhood. He's the reason why Adam is getting treated bad. He leaves Dean making Dean have abandonment issues. He made Dean live as a hunter even when he's a child, always moving out of the city, and basically making Dean have feelings problem. He's the reason why Dean don't like sharing he's feelings to people. yeh
@@KlaSiKo4 SPOILER WARNING! READ NO FURTHER! I don't see how anyone, who watched the entire series, could come away thinking like this. John was cursed the moment he met Mary Winchester. It was Mary who made the demon deal to bring John back. That act of recklessness and selfishness cursed Sam. John had to clean up the mess his wife made knowing nothing about the supernatural. Then, she got herself killed and left John the single parent of a son, wanted by demons, and another son who was wanted by angels. There was absolutely no other way John could raise them to prepare them for the destiny their MOTHER created. John was the goat for raising them to be sharp, relentless, and uncompromising. They were destined to have enemies, from heaven and hell, who were all 3.

Look what he is now, always hides his pain, blindly following his orders cause he got traumatized when Sam got in trouble cause he guarded Sam when John clearly said to guard Sam. There's so many things that he done so wrong cause he's full of revenge when Mary died. He is destined to be a bad father, and that's why most of us hate him.

He did what a loving father would do - he raised his sons to be able to protect themselves and gave his own life for his son. You're up here arguing about feelings and emotions. Dean being warm and fuzzy wasn't going to save him from demons and angels. So put the blame where it belongs - with Mary.

I am not saying Mary is a good arent too cause yeah she's literally the reason why John become a hunter. But even with all of that you can't say it's a good parenting cause it's not. Again for the third time, Dean didn't have any childhood whatsoever. He has a chance but he can't leave Sam alone cause he don't want Sam to be a hunter in his younger days like he was. Do you see what's wrong in this or not? There are soo many wrong John did to parenting Sam and especially Dean. You know why I hate John more than Mary? Cause at least Mary given Dean a childhood. He made him feel love, and live as a child. She made him feel like he has a home that he can walk back to. And look at him when he did grow back, he always look back to those memories cause he get what he wanted, a normal life. Yes Mary did started all of this, but at least he did not even abandon Dean, unlike John who abandon his kids, that is very new in hunting life and already giving him these "shoot first" rule. People had that theory during the shows run, but if you seen the whole series then you KNOW its a matter of interpretation and not a definitive.
