That's actually kind of a perfect way to say it. Nini and Kourtney's perspective was of not needing someone else (i.e. a boy) in order to shine, while Carlos was nervous about being able to shine by himself on the dance floor, but was able to shine together with a little "push" from Ashlyn.
This is absolutely the best sequence in the show. Kourtney supporting Nini, Ashlyn supporting Carlos, Seb coming in, everyone's amazing dancing... this was BEAUTIFUL!
I'm honestly really glad that there is so much representation in this disney show. People talk about the gay, poc, and even the family life isn't perfect representation, and I'm just so glad about it. I feel like Disney did a really good job with this show because not only does it represent all the things mentioned above, it also doesn't use one type of body. In other shows, the main character is always skinny and practically perfect, but with this show every type of body is the star. It normalizes imperfect bodies.

I love that they're doing a reverse-sharpay with EJ. Cause with sharpay we were introduced to her being a bad person and we were gradually seeing her inner side and became sympathetic towards her over the course of the movies. I really like how it is breaking the stereotypes. Having only one friend beside you and enjoying the presence of each other isn't something to be ashamed of. no. nonono. i went to a final dance this summer for an event i went to. the only time people had their phones out were to take group photos and to take a picture of a photobooth reel.

They have the right people to play in this series. #2 Born to be Brave is not only a song that talks about overcoming your fears but also talks about you are a overcomer and you can accomplish anything as long as you put God first and fight for your career and what you want to be out of life. When I first saw this scene, was the moment I knew this show had a special flare. VERY talented actors aside, the characters don't feel like they play a singular role. They are more than just "the best friend". They are also talented in their own, unique, way. Definitly a show for when felling under the weather.
I cannot express the amount of joy I felt when Ashlynn and everyone else at Homecoming (including Big Red) started dancing with Carlos, leaving EJ in the dust.
Moral of the story: You don't need someone else to shine, but it's always fun when you can shine together.

When I first saw this scene, was the moment I knew this show had a special flare. VERY talented actors aside, the characters don't feel like they play a singular role. They are more than just "the best friend". They are also talented in their own, unique, way. Definitly a show for when felling under the weather.
Ashlyn is probably one of my favorite characters. She just so supportive and just a solid person
