    Does using 20W fast charger to charge a power bank that supports 18W fast charging effect the the power bank in negative way?

    • @DoubleMonoLR
      @DoubleMonoLR 3 роки тому

      Any decent charger should only supply as much as the device can handle. Typically the device being charged will determine how much current is allowed, but very poor chargers can cause overcharging/over-voltage etc. I unfortunately experienced this when a cheap charger(which wasn't a fast charger) failed & instantly killed my phone. I'll never use a no-name charger again!, or at least not one that is mains powered,

    Very interisting, but gosh, too much talking. You are repeating the same info 3-6 times , just plug-in show result. But again educational.

      No BCS fast charging chargers have an integrated chip that controls voltages according to your phone

    "The wire gauge is so thin"
    But I saw from my research that the smaller the guage(AWG), the higher the amps. So, which one is correct?

    • @catalystcomet
      @catalystcomet Рік тому

      No, the smaller the gauge is lower the charge. It is as easy as a cursory Google search.

    Awesome video man. Why do you think certain OEM cables work better for a specific device? Seems to me like wire gauge is the only major factor causing voltage drop that limits charging? i guess better pin contact could make a difference...

    Thank you. I recently discovered that my old smartphone was not charging as quickly. I can't help but wonder if it is due to either a software update or the cable I'm using (i own a dozen cables, and many are cheapo $1 cables or cheap cables that came with other inexpensive electronic devices). I think i will relegate the cheap cables to overnight charging only.

    Wherein I purchased type c cable from Amazon
    The phone is charging quickly n discharging is also quite fast
    After using that cable the turbo charger also heats up while charging

    Ever test magnetic lightning charge cable? What experience do you have with them? Wondering if they're worth it.

    • @balibatchristiann.1029
      @balibatchristiann.1029 4 роки тому

      Yes I've tested once and it seems like it's very handy and easy to use but at the same time you need to be very careful for the micro usb for its miniscule size.Overall, it's very good but don't anticipate that it will last for a decade because it's "TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE", nothing in this world last forever.
      PS: just handle with care

    I wonder how bad those cheap aliexpress flowing light cables with magnetic tips cables are.
    I use them to charge bluetooth headphone/earbud/headlamp stuff, so probably doesn't matter much.

  • @wallthemart
    @wallthemart 3 роки тому

    If you buy a lot of stuff that comes from china, notably cable brands like remax and pineng, remember that there ARE fakes of these cheap cables that run even cheaper. I also noticed that recently, they actually found a way to trick your device into thinking its fast charging, but if you time the charge, it is very obviously at least 1/3 of the oem cables. I tested this specifically on my oneplus 5 with a 'dash charge' rated fake cable. I also tested playing pubg while charging, when using the oem cable, my battery percentage goes up albeit at a slower pace, but with the fake cable, it outright doesn't go up at all.

    hello good day!! i just used a usb multimeter/voltmeter and shows a 5.34v=1.4A . is it okay to use it on my smartphone with 5v output? i tried another adapter and the reading is 4.95v=1.12A which is better to use???? btw my smart phone is samsung galaxy j7pro
    im looking forward for your response thankyou :))

      Amps from a source like a AC-->DC wall adapter will provide up to what is listed at the rated voltage but the current being used by the device will be based on the devices needs/circuit draw. You phone shouldn't be a power source and it should have charge regulation circuitry that reads the voltage and controls it in order to safely charge the li-ion cell. The current drawn during charge is controlled by the charging circuitry and it will draw what it can at the voltage needed to handle the 4.2v needed for the cell and the voltage drop from the IC handling the charge and it will be set to charge the cell at a safe rate based on it's total capacity.
      IMO as long as the cable has clean contacts and makes a good connection at each end pretty much any decent cable will work, the charge rate can change dynamically for other reasons then the wire. Cable length would be the biggest factor rather then other cable properties for your standard cable. A thicker power wire in the cables would simply allow for a slightly longer cable showing the same rate as the shorter standard ones.

    For goodness sake... you are gabling. Please speak more slowly, more clearly, and preferably record in a room with less reverberation. (You can reduce reverb by hanging a few blankets around the mike. And, if the floor is hard, put a blanket, or a towel, on that as well.)

      Here is one that would work for most cases:
      www.aliexpress.com/store/product/DC-Energy-USB-tester-Digital-voltmeter-amperimetro-current-voltage-meter-amp-volt-detector-power-bank-charger/2022043_32779513591.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.42.71195979hatt2X
      Here is one that is overkill for most cases, but it is very accurate, and supports many modes:
      www.aliexpress.com/item/RD-UM25-UM25C-for-APP-USB-2-0-Type-C-LCD-Voltmeter-ammeter-voltage-current-meter/32855845265.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.3.641a7e5b9CH3jY&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_5_10065_10068_10130_10547_10059_10548_10696_100031_10084_10083_10103_451_452_10618_10139_10307,searchweb201603_54,ppcSwitch_2&algo_expid=ffaa8fe0-1269-47af-abe0-53ab48eb1d8e-0&algo_pvid=ffaa8fe0-1269-47af-abe0-53ab48eb1d8e&transAbTest=ae803_1&priceBeautifyAB=0
      Can also work with Bluetooth.
