Thank you for sharing your process! Stucco repair has always been one of those things that I just stay away from. But as a handyman it is finally time I learn!
thanks so much for taking the time to post these videos Mike. last summer I did a pretty complicated stucco patch job with almost no previous experience. watched all your videos and then successfully tackled the job!
About to do one like this on Saturday thank you for the post .the only problem is the building is old ,huge ,and all stucco might not have enough paint for whole building only small parts need repair!
As always Mike, great video! I have a question; we're getting one of those prefab steel buildings but it doesn't have a front or rear wall. Would we be able to build a stone front wall just by following the arch of the building? What would we need to place between the steel edge and the rock? Thanks!
Hey Kiki. Realize this is 6 years old and you've probably bought, sold, and retired to Florida by now.. But you would want to use Hardie board, or a green rated plywood. But as OP said, best to ask the locals, carpenters/handymans do stuff a little bit different depending on climate, local codes, and haunted Indian burial grounds etc..
Thank you for the video Mike. I have a question. You painted the stucco the same day. Home Depot has asked me to wait for 30 days for the stucco to cure before I should have it painted. In my case, about a 15 feet by 2 feet of stucco was removed and replaced first with some 2 by and 4 and plywood, wire mesh and then stucco. How long do you think I should wait before getting it painted. Also, can it be painted when it has rained a day before. Here in south florida these days it has been raining just about everyday and the contractor wants to paint it EVEN when it has rained the previous day. Thank you.
Hi Mike. , I have some stucco cure from SRK Coating for freshly applied stucco. I was wondering if I can use this stucco cure to paint my block fence? I wanted to put some color in this stucco and cure. Also can I use this stucco cure to paint my house, it has Aluminum siding. I thought about primering the house walls then putting 1 gal of paint to 5 gal of stucco cure to make it go farther cuz I am Disabled with Heart Failure, I don't think I will last much longer. I'm at stage 3 of 4 and don't have much money. So can you help me with my problem? I need to know asap. Or maybe somebody on your post that knows what I'm talking about and that can give me an answer soon. Thank you so much for your time.
Hi Donald, I can not comment on that I never used SRK, I myself always ask the guys at the paint store what they recommend, I hope it helps, God bless, mike

Hi Mike, thank you for the reply. That sounds like good advice I will check it out. thank you and Bod bless
please tell me you rolled the paint and not brushed the entire thing?..
+luis perez I had to brush it, it was too rough for a roller. and it went fast. no worries, thanks mike
work it in! >:-}
Mike Haduck Next time I recommend you try a 3/4 shaggy nap,or maybe even a 1inch
John Pressure Washing & Painting in Baton Rouge rite on faster right?
No, with that thick stucco, you want like 1 and 1/4 or 1 and a half inch roller.
great techniques..still not sure why your painting with a brush and not a 3/4 nap but ok
Hi John, I am a lot of old school for sure, thanks mike
Thought you used a hammer drill?
+westside98 yep it was a hammer drill. thanks mike
Kirk Giordano of the East Coast.
Hi David, I am a fan of Kirk, thanks, Mike
Woohoo 1080p = )
+Zamorazone I am getting better, "I think" thanks mike
Use a roller or sprayer next time your paint. Why would you use a brush? Smh
Hi Kerry, Rollers don’t seem to do well on stucco or rough finishes flat walls are OK, thanks, Mike
