Hi Liv & Lew. Nice video! I enjoyed watching and learning about this hike. I just came from El Chalten last month. Love it there, but I didn't cross over to Chile. I just stumbled across your channel while searching for interesting hikes. I do lots of hiking and posting on UA-cam myself. I looked through your channel, and it looks like your doing tons of very interesting hikes and adventures. Awesome. I just followed your channel! I look forward to staying connected.
Hey Pete, thank you so much for your comment & we are so pleased you enjoyed our video!! El Chalten and Argentina is general is so amazing, we absolutely LOVED our time there (we spent 2 months travelling around Arg last year). Would definitely recommend Chile if you haven’t been already, the landscapes are just otherworldly! Where abouts in the world are you now? Great to be connected and stay in touch 😊 Liv & Lew
@@livandlewI haven't been to Chile yet... but after visiting Patagonia on the Argentina side, Chile is now just a matter of time. I'm definitely going to go and loved watching your experience there. I'm looking for some new challenges, and this W Trek looks hard... right up my alley. I traveled around Argentina for 20 days last month (January) and loved it, especially the various spots I stopped at along Patagonia. Now I'm back in the US for a few weeks before I head over to Europe to backpack the Fisherman's Trail on the southern coast of Portugal for 20 days. I will definitely stay connected, guys. Thanks for taking the time to write such a thoughtful reply to me. Your authenticity shines through, and that's the type of people I enjoy being connected with.
Very informative video. Thanks for sharing. I take it from looking at the colour of the trees you were hiking in Autumn…..can you confirm exactly what month of the year it was? Also, any recommendations regarding footwear…..boots or trekking shoes? Thanks🙏
Hey thanks so much for watching and glad it's been helpful! Yes we were there in Autumn just before it went into the Winter season - We both went for trekking shoes and found it fine, although less support on the ankles, we also were using poles as you can see (totally needed) and the exact dates were 7th - 10th April :)
Booking this all is an absolute nightmare! Your best bet is to Google this because it’s always changing and you need to sync it with any accommodation bookings you’re making
I had not finished watching the video when i wrote this comment but now that I am done watching it, I found myself getting very excited for you guys for finishing the hike. The weather seemed great towards the end as well. what a great way to end this adventure.
Haha safe to say we were BUZZING to finish 😂😂 although it was amazing! And yes it definitley got better as the days went on! Thank goodness! Thanks so much for watching & we are so glad you enjoyed it!
@@AvidL1623 it was amazing! You’ll absolutely love it if you go ahead and do it! Thanks for watching. We’ve got some more Patagonia hike videos coming soon
Hi! planning our trip and your vlog is a wealth of info and is getting us excited! Wanted to ask for footwear, did you feel trailrunners are good or proper hiking boots are better? thanks in advance!
Hey! We used trail runners and they did the job just fine! Hiking boots would also work nicely but not essential if you don’t have them! Enjoy the trail!
@@livandlew oh great!! Thank you and for Liv, did you feel regular leggings did the job or would you recommend a more technical hiking pant/fleece legging type?
Big round of applause for you both!! Look tough but an amazing experience xx
Thanks Lou!! Proud of us for doing it, although won’t be doing it again in a hurry 😂☺️ xx
Que beleza de paisaje , felicitacion por tu video ❤
Thank you so much ❤️
This is amazing! It so cool seeing the hike!
Reliving it all again 😂😂 definitely cool to see it all back tho!

One of the most stunning places to see.!
It really was incredible!
Loved the vlog! Also doing the W trek in a few days and looking forward to it. It really was confusing to organise 😂
It’s a nightmare to organise. They don’t make it easy! But it’s so worth it once you’re there! Have a great time
What month you guys went???😊
What did you do with the rest of your stuff while you went on the trek?
We left it at our hostel

@ Thanks for replying so quickly…..heading there in early January so very interested in your experience. Will definitely be bringing poles!
Have an amazing time!
Do you recommend doing west to east like you did or in the opposite direction?
100% because it means you get to do the base towers for sunrise which for us was the absolute highlight
Nice video! I was curious how I’m advance and where you booked your stays in the campsites? All the best
We booked about 4 weeks in advance! Would recommend sooner than that though!
Hermosa la Patagonia chilena
Si! 😍😍
What month were you there?😮
In March and it was amazing. Albeit cold at times. The colours were incredible!
Great video! Thank you for sharing the adventure. Can you please share some link for the boat on lago grey? Thanks!

Great vids! I'm taking hints since we will be going there next Feb. When did you go (which month)? Thanks!
Ours was early March! Just before things get real bad with the weather! It’s absolutely amazing!!
Hi, for a 4 day do you remember the breakdown hike kms per day? Thanks in advance !
@@a.r11384 it was about 30km a day with only 15km day one
Which month you guys went? Any links to make reservations
We were there in May
@@livandlewthanks ❤
for someone in their 20s who doesnt hike regularly but has done some moderate hikes, how many days would you recommend? the 4 day or the 5 day?
We did the 4 and sounds like you’d be fine doing that!

Wondering what time of year you did this hike. What was the date when you started?
We did it in March!
Did you have to take pots for boiling your noodles and soup? Buy bus tickets separately I’m sure. Thanks
Yes to all these!
