Thank you for doing this, it was extremely helpful. I am having an issue where on a few channels, the worst being channel 14, there is a static/interference noise that is coming through the channel when there is. nothing plugged into it. It registers gain in the preamp section and if you turn the gain up, the noise makes the channel unusable. Have you heard of this issue before and have you ever repaired individual inputs on the unit?
I am surprised that you did not mention the antenna breaking off as both of mine have they seem so fragile, I may have to rely on a router`s antenna. thanks for the detailed video. Regards. Gus

Is there an actual schematic anywhere to be found for this unit? My channels 7 and 17 are out. Tried all the suggestions here and still nothing, so at this point I'd like to check the solder joints but I'm not sure how to identify those specific channels on the circuit board.
Very poor video quality, but excellent informations. Thank you for that. But I have some questions: 1.) Does it make sense to change the passive cooler in the CPU to an active fan or something like that? 2.) Would it make sense to update the ARM-Board? Would be nice to have Full HD at HDMI and besides that the webserver containing the web server is choking a lot. I don't know ARM-Boards and so I don't know if this would cause driver issues with the firmware or if the firmware could be copied 1:1 to a bigger/better board. 3.) Is this only my model or is the USB-B connector very ... how do I say ... lose? If I put the cable into the connector, I can move the plug around like shifting gears in a car. I've never seen that on a printer or something else. Is it a cheap connector in the Ui24R?

Great video. I had a question but it is about the UI16. I have a small electric derivation from the metalic parts and also thru the mics that if it touches your lips, will have a shock (small one, not dangerous) Could you point me to some solution? I already got the big brother, UI24R, but would like to sell the UI16 but fixed first, if possible. I heard you talking about some ground cables thru back and front pannel and something about the right way to plug the mains (since it is AC, it should not matter, isn't it?) Regards,
what? you're getting an electric shock from your microphones plugged into the mixer? STOP USING IT THEN. what you're saying is that your microphone is conducting electricity from the mixer ?? sounds like maybe phantom power except phantom power wouldn't conduct itself through the grill or body of the mic even if you had a mic in there that didn't need Phantom power. but conducting electricity nonetheless is serious. you might think it's minor like a small shock, but it's probably a symptom of something much more big that's gone wrong or will inevitably go wrong.. just stop using it until you get a trained technician to look at it. It's a grounding issue dude. I've seen people get electrocuted because they plugged their XLR cable into a microphone not realizing that XLR cable was plugged into mains power to power something from the lighting rig (fog machine)
I have electrocution issues with my ui24r. The body of the mixer and all cables are frying. I've only purchased the device few months back and used for 3 - one hour sessions just to save two basic mix scenes (didnt have the problem during the first two uses). What could be the problem? I could add a ground pin, but I'm looking for a permanent solution than that.
Thanks for the video. Please I need help with my ui24r mixer. It doesn't boot successfully. Once the power is up, it kept blinking two green light continuously without end. Seem like it's stuck in a Boot loop. I have tried to perform full reset with USB & text file, but it's still behaving the same way. It never gets to the point where the blue WiFi light is lit and stable. Please help me. I don't know what else to do, and I desperately need to use the mixer. Thank you.

Great Video, both my antennas came off and wifi is a bit weak, would you know if this affects USB Flash I can view the UI24R on my ipad but when I place a USB stick in the port nothing happens, would this work if I upgraded the to the latest driver/firmware? Thanks. Gus
My UI24 not resetting, green light keeps on blinking forever. I tried different USB Flashdrive (Fat32) still not resetting. I reset because only channel 3 is working the rest don't work. RTA have signal but no sound and no green signal. Please help thanks!
Hearing a lot of users on the forum complaining about the board resetting during use, the common thought is it’s the power supply. Someone told me there is an upgrade to the power supply unit that fits the same form factor, is that a thing? If so can I get that done in the USA?
Hi, Thanks so much for making this video. Have you ever run into a problem with the headphone volume control(s) not responding to pot adjustments? My hp 1 works as expected but hp 2 passes audio to headphones but I can't turn it up or down, I only receive signal at unity gain but cannot control it. Curious about the usb stick control as well. It worked once for a show and no the playback of backing tracks will freeze up and stop playing. I bought my ui24 just before lock down so I do not know when the usb inputs issue was addressed. Is a replacement board available from Soundcraft/Harmon? Thanks again ever so much for the time put in to creating this video, it's a worthy service to a community of users. Hey, not sure anyone else helped you, but your HP2 is acting normally. The manual level knob on the unit only controls HP1 volume. HP2 volume is only controlled digitally through the Settings using the web console. Your manual says this as well in case you want to double check.
Do you have any suggestion for somebody (like me) who may have bricked the software? Is there are certain board that powers the software that can be replaced if the UI will not load no matter how much you try and reset the mixer? Thanks

I'd like a little insight....what is the physical differences between a stereo usb recording mixer and a multi channel recording usb mixer? Is it a huge extra expense to offer individual channels as opposed to just sending a stereo bus? It seems that trying to find a small mixer with separate channel usb recording outputs is as hard to find as the challenge I had finding a similar mid level mixer with direct outputs for each 8 channels. I just wonder why with this product range that they only offered multi usb with the 24 channel instead of just putting the option into each. Is it a case of a simple reprogramming of a chip, or a bunch of extra wiring and work? Thanks

I suspect a bad reset switch because I cannot get the unit to reset to its default password, “admin.” I am continually receiving a “WRONG PASSWORD” message and am locked out of the unit. Is a DIY replacement of the reset button/switch, doable, or do I need to send the UI24 to Soundcraft? Warranty has expired long ago. To pay to have work done + shipping to, and from, may possibly not be worth it. I need help. Can you please help me?
Hi Thanks for the video .. my problem is the usb ports are not working ... but first I couldn't save shows/snapshots . Then realised I couldn't import previously saved shows to USB so I could update firmware .. With your help I've opened up and checked all connections but nothing seems out or broken . Any ideas ?

I work with pretty much every console made, the only ones I haven't used are the YAMAHA Rivage and the SSL consoles, all the other brands/makes I know pretty much inside out.
I have to repair an ui24 that have a strange behavior. It came in with loud click from ch 13 that start slow and grow in rate with time. I unplug and reconnect the flat cable from fpga board to the preamp board and I get some improvement. Now while cecking the rest of the mixer I noticed that I have no response from the mcu. No gain control, no phantom power. But the more strange thing is that ch 20 and ch 10 is inverted. And yep I did ceck if the input are configured right. So now I'm thinking that probably the mcu is dead, I'll ceck the usual things like power reset clock but the more interesting things is the two swapped channel. Isn't hard wired the input to the adc? Also the output of the adc isn't hard wired to the fpga? Thanks.
Hello, my Ui24R has a problem with the image on HDMI, when I turn on the console, the image appears on the screen and (loading) and I add the image, leaving the screen dark, what can this be? thank you for the video I have a problem with the ui24r console I either have a black screen at startup or a screen with the message loading impossible to do a factory reset according to the elements I have seen this may come of the arm card?
I just received ui24r and it failed to bootup. The green lights by the master outputs are on and off endlessly, the lights by the LAN port are on continuously on. When i plug in the HDMI cable all i see is the logo of soundcraft and gets stuck with loading...I have done all the needed reset trouble shooting stuff like holding the reset button and powering it on while holding the reset button 10 secs. I also did the fullreset txt file on USB stick without any luck. I need help. What board could be the culprit? Thank you

It really depends on which USB port you're speaking of. The USB a, which host flash drives, SSD, etc.. or the USB B which is the DAW connection. as noted in the video, they are from two separate parts of the board....
I could be wrong but, I think if your ui came with firmware version 2, it would be the version without the potentially bad USB A board. If it came with the first firmware then it could be the version with the potentially bad board.
Hi. I have a problem with all output. Even with all unplugged, and with all channel and aux muted, i have a white noise on all output. Plugging balanced cable to speaker the noise appear. Is this a problem of Ui24 at all, or is mine with this issue?
hi! my UI has two channels (7 & 14) make some noise in the preamp with nothing plugged in. In my country doesnt have a repair shop for this (my ui is out of warranty years ago) im do some research online, and i read its maybe a Opamp share in this 2 channels. Any any help please!!!!
Much appreciated!! I need help. My reset button meters ok, but the indicator in the utility section shows no action when pushed. If a trace is gone, I would like to install a jumper, but I need to know a point on the card to jump to. Some jackass put passwords in and now I cant get into administration. admin/admin no longer goes. Of course, Soundcraft solves this with a new board and the required mortgage to pay for it. I would assume that reset is simply grounding a pin somewhere during boot up. Any higher consciousness would be appreciated.

My ui24 overheated last weekend in 90F plus weather and the next day I couldn’t bring up the GUI webpage. I tried wired and wireless, and in each case I can ping the unit, but no blue wireless light and no web page. I’m guessing the processor and board needs replacing?
The SMD Capacitor C177 on my dsp Board ist corroded and shorted to ground. I am Trying to find out What values it has. Maybe somebody knows someone who knows someone?
¿ Should all the black wires from the power supply not be at the +18V relative to the white? I am getting the white and adjacent black wire at the same voltage. In fact, they are physically shorted. From a color-coding perspective, this seems rather odd!

What was the reason (from engineering perspective) to actually go for an Allwinner SoC-platform (and not e.g. for NXP i.MX or similar devices)? May I also ask you how the audio-interfacing / transport between the DSP's and the Allwinner is implemented for multitrack-recording (it seems like this Allwinner doesn't have a multichannel TDM interface or similar). NXP i.MX to get a quad core system of this power is very expensive and also very hard to even buy now the chipsets are not available easily. Allwinner has similar connectivity TDM busses/fast SPI
@@mix-record-connect9938 I've got a unit in for repairs, the problem is the unit is not booting up. Shows the loading page and is stuck. My suspicions is the Allwinner H3 chip is bricked. Any ideas on how to move forward? I also found the 1.5V (near the heatsink) output was not working and found the issue to be two open feedback resistors. Replaced them and now get the 1.5V. Thanks
My ui24 has no username or password assigned to it, tried to hard reset but it won't reset, someone said it's the reset button, any advice on how it could be fixed without taking it to the shop and paying an arm and leg?
Thanks for the video. My Ui24r which gets very light use and never moves from its spot has developed a weird fault. None of the USBs work properly .... and the mixer appears on phones (via external router) but NOT on HDMI. The initial Soundcraft screen appears on the HDMI (with the word loading) ... but suddenly vanishes, with the HDMI sending no signal. The interface appears OK on phones though. I'm guessing maybe it's a hardware fault.
Hello, I am having issue with the USB I/F not being recognized (Not in Mac, Not in Windows) It was working before. I am wondering if the USB board in the minute @ 23:20 its damage. I opened the Mixer and access to the USB board, I can see it has some CI: 9270(or 927N) and there is a component (Maybe a diode?) in between USB I/F ground pin and another pin. I will appreciate any help to defect if there is some issue in this boar. Hopefully It will not be a problem with the XMOS! I am thinking to buy this USB board, I think it should be not expensive, so I can check if it solve the issue but...mmm I am in Jordan and not any dealer or repair centre here. @@mix-record-connect9938 Thanks, probably the XMOS is dead as I cut an USB B cable and connected to the USB cable terminal from the USB board, then connected to an Arduino Uno and I was able to detect the Arduino as well as upload codes with Arduino IDE. So the problem is at the XMOS side. Now the big questions : How can this XMOS could be replaced? I don't think it could be possible here in Jordan. Where can I buy the whole boar from? Hello, have you heard about problems with the headphone outputs? My ui24r has a much hotter signal output and lots of background noise on number 2. I checked and and cross patched without result. It seems to be a hardware fault.
Cirrus Logic, yes good, but it's about the preamp design as well, that's where this unit shines. Line input does not bypass but at zero Gain it's nearly the same as bypassing.
Hello, Thank you for the video. Question: In channel 5 I am getting a lot of crackling/fuzz at a high volume, but nothing is plugged in. This noise is also present, tho much quieter, in the five neighboring channels (4, 6, and the ones underneath and the the corners). Do you have any guess what the issue may be and how to fix it? The noise came out of nowhere one day. Started to crackle slightly and intermittently, but only 10mins later was consistent (same volume of noise at the intermittent stage as its present state) I have little money to spare on repair, so I’d like to do it myself, but the bigger reason is I play 3 shows a week so I can’t send in my unit since I need it to be repaired by the weekend. And i don’t have the budget to buy a second while the first is getting repaired for at least 6 months. Thank you a thousand times in advance!
Great video.... I have a question.. My ui24r won't boot up... the two green lights in front keeps blinking but the blue indicator never comes on... when I connect to the hdmi, it shows the loading screen and gets stuck there.... what could be the problem??
my mixer started to freeze whenever front USB ports are used. I have a touch screen connected. It’s been working flawlessly for one year and recently totally unusable as it freezes all the time and needed to reboot. How can I fix this?
Hey I got question... Is there anything in here that is supposed to be held down by a zip tie? I'm guessing not but I just bumped the side of my ui24 while reaching for the power switch and heard something fall inside of it, and I worked it out to be (from what I could see inside the vent holes) a broken zip tie. I'm just making sure. I have no clue how it would have gotten in there, only had it for a week and I haven't used or had zip ties around the thing that could have fallen in. Maybe it even fell in during manufacturing or something. Also, do you know about channel 17 for some reason being routed to channel 23 and 24 by default even with nothing being routed to 23 and 24 by default? It doesn't say it is in the patching, but it just seems that it is from the initial snapshot. When you go route something else to 23 and 24 and then take it off (so nothing is routed again), it stops, so I'm guessing it was just a software bug.
I'm sure it's something that isn't exactly needed inside there then. And if it is for whatever reason I can add one back to whatever cable holds it down.
Hello, great videos, I watched it with pleasure. In my U24R, GAIN is no longer regulated on all channels. The supply voltages on the chips are normal. I updated the firmware, did a reset. The mixer works, but the gain is frozen at maximum. What do you advise, where to dig?

Hello, many thanks for the great video. I have a question where can I find the preamplifier schematic. My problem is damage to the 3 inputs. The reason was to connect the cable with phantom voltage turned on. The operational IC has probably broken down. Could you possibly indicate which operational ICs and resistors support the 3rd input?
I don't have a schematic to share, some users traced the circuit out. An electronics repair person could do so, it could be a simple resistor or opamp I would check if the corresponding channel 13 has the same issue as the opamp of corresponding channels (under each other) are shared.
Haaa, in this mixer there is... no typical microphone preamplifiers. Microphone preamps is so noisy because on the input they dont use low noise transistor pairs as usually, microphone signal goes straight to NJW1195A (only 5nV input noise like NE5532, only 35dB gain...). Behringer XR have much more better preamp spec...
@@monter6794 Sorry, you don't know what you are talking about here. Ui24 does not use NJW1195 (only ui12-16) Ui24 has Studer designed analog Mic Preamps with digital control. Please don't comment if you do not know.
It's actually rather simple to trace, they are all discrete components which are readily available. If you trace the 3rd input you will see exactly which components it uses.
Really great video. I got issue with this console, the console suddenly goes off. No sound, no control (at the browser), but after a while it going back again, without restarting the console. I'm thinking about overheating, what do you think? Thank you so much

thanks dude, my question, in your opion what would be the problem after loss of USB/if , the unit stopped being visable to the PC after the PC power supply went down, The Ui24r perform perfectly as a stand alone unit including usb ports, for play and record but it will not connect to a computerm, done the firmware today, admin the multi channel driver but no banana, i use cubase so the unit is currently a pointless waste of space and considering the space saved a little ironic too... any ideas

the Cascade point is setup proprietary. If you just need a remote interface out front, run a ethernet cable from your external router (if used).. This is how my system is set up. I have a hundred foot ethernet cable running from eth1 to front of house... Yes, I'm still using the internal Wi-Fi for phones and tablets on stage. but as for using the Cascade Port, no. It is set up as a proprietary ethernet connection between two mixers.
I use USB amplifier in a mobile studio setup. That’s basically a long usb cable splitting with a power adapter at one end. Works fine as remote interface.

My second headphones output doesn't work any more, it was happened after trying assign this output to aux 9 and 10, i just put jack into second headphones output to external effect, but suddenly no more sound. Of course i check everything in patch window ans also full reset and updating to 3,3 version, but still no sound. Did you thing headphones output can be broken because i insert jack to external processor?

It would need firmware updating, at this time if you want to convert to LAN you either use Dante VIA but if you want very low latency, use WAVES SOUNDGRID STUDIO and Drivers. That would be the best way.

Brilliant video - thanks. Have you ever come across very slow boot time followed by the unit going into a silent demo mode like on the web site? opening up and pressing the main connectors then powering on again cleared it but it did the same next time I used it (and worked again after press all main connectors). Would love to know which connector it is rather than prodding around blind. No problem if you don't have time/inclination to answer - this video is gold in itself and much appreciated.
I have but it could be a bad pin on the cable or some interference, check the connections between all the cables (even the small ones to the ARM processor.

After watching your excellent video I did check all the connectors as best as I was able when it did it again on cold-boot yesterday and today it has booted fine twice rather than going into demo mode so I hope it'll stay that way. There's no audio out of the ui24r itself in that demo mode, but it does send audio via usb interface - it's not a real song, just lots of transients across all the channels that look impressive when silent!
@@mix-record-connect9938 It boots up and all the channels show activity even with nothing connected and no sound comes out of the physical outs even if the routing is set correctly, it looks exactly like the demo they have on the soundcraft.com website. My band is having same issue. Usually happens in the 3rd set with the party really rocking when the sound cuts out for 10-30 seconds and returns on it's own. Already tried an internal fan and a UPS with no change in behavior. I'd be interested in upgrading the power supply if that's the culprit. I have the unit apart and see the current model is made by XP Power model VFT80US18. It doesn't seem to be a current model on their web-page. I wonder if that's the original supply the unit was designed with and Soundcraft cheapo'd out after they bought the design. M-R-C, you seem to have great knowledge of this unit - were you on the original design team?

Thank you for doing this, it was extremely helpful. I am having an issue where on a few channels, the worst being channel 14, there is a static/interference noise that is coming through the channel when there is. nothing plugged into it. It registers gain in the preamp section and if you turn the gain up, the noise makes the channel unusable. Have you heard of this issue before and have you ever repaired individual inputs on the unit?

Is there an actual schematic anywhere to be found for this unit? My channels 7 and 17 are out. Tried all the suggestions here and still nothing, so at this point I'd like to check the solder joints but I'm not sure how to identify those specific channels on the circuit board.

Very poor video quality, but excellent informations. Thank you for that. But I have some questions:
1.) Does it make sense to change the passive cooler in the CPU to an active fan or something like that?
2.) Would it make sense to update the ARM-Board? Would be nice to have Full HD at HDMI and besides that the webserver containing the web server is choking a lot. I don't know ARM-Boards and so I don't know if this would cause driver issues with the firmware or if the firmware could be copied 1:1 to a bigger/better board.
3.) Is this only my model or is the USB-B connector very ... how do I say ... lose? If I put the cable into the connector, I can move the plug around like shifting gears in a car. I've never seen that on a printer or something else. Is it a cheap connector in the Ui24R?

Great video. I had a question but it is about the UI16. I have a small electric derivation from the metalic parts and also thru the mics that if it touches your lips, will have a shock (small one, not dangerous) Could you point me to some solution? I already got the big brother, UI24R, but would like to sell the UI16 but fixed first, if possible.
I heard you talking about some ground cables thru back and front pannel and something about the right way to plug the mains (since it is AC, it should not matter, isn't it?)

what? you're getting an electric shock from your microphones plugged into the mixer? STOP USING IT THEN.
what you're saying is that your microphone is conducting electricity from the mixer ?? sounds like maybe phantom power except phantom power wouldn't conduct itself through the grill or body of the mic even if you had a mic in there that didn't need Phantom power. but conducting electricity nonetheless is serious. you might think it's minor like a small shock, but it's probably a symptom of something much more big that's gone wrong or will inevitably go wrong.. just stop using it until you get a trained technician to look at it. It's a grounding issue dude.
I've seen people get electrocuted because they plugged their XLR cable into a microphone not realizing that XLR cable was plugged into mains power to power something from the lighting rig (fog machine)
I have electrocution issues with my ui24r. The body of the mixer and all cables are frying. I've only purchased the device few months back and used for 3 - one hour sessions just to save two basic mix scenes (didnt have the problem during the first two uses). What could be the problem? I could add a ground pin, but I'm looking for a permanent solution than that.
Thanks for the video. Please I need help with my ui24r mixer. It doesn't boot successfully. Once the power is up, it kept blinking two green light continuously without end. Seem like it's stuck in a Boot loop. I have tried to perform full reset with USB & text file, but it's still behaving the same way. It never gets to the point where the blue WiFi light is lit and stable. Please help me. I don't know what else to do, and I desperately need to use the mixer. Thank you.

My UI24 not resetting, green light keeps on blinking forever. I tried different USB Flashdrive (Fat32) still not resetting. I reset because only channel 3 is working the rest don't work. RTA have signal but no sound and no green signal. Please help thanks!
Hearing a lot of users on the forum complaining about the board resetting during use, the common thought is it’s the power supply. Someone told me there is an upgrade to the power supply unit that fits the same form factor, is that a thing? If so can I get that done in the USA?

Hi, Thanks so much for making this video. Have you ever run into a problem with the headphone volume control(s) not responding to pot adjustments? My hp 1 works as expected but hp 2 passes audio to headphones but I can't turn it up or down, I only receive signal at unity gain but cannot control it. Curious about the usb stick control as well. It worked once for a show and no the playback of backing tracks will freeze up and stop playing. I bought my ui24 just before lock down so I do not know when the usb inputs issue was addressed. Is a replacement board available from Soundcraft/Harmon?

Hey, not sure anyone else helped you, but your HP2 is acting normally. The manual level knob on the unit only controls HP1 volume. HP2 volume is only controlled digitally through the Settings using the web console. Your manual says this as well in case you want to double check.
Do you have any suggestion for somebody (like me) who may have bricked the software? Is there are certain board that powers the software that can be replaced if the UI will not load no matter how much you try and reset the mixer? Thanks

I'd like a little insight....what is the physical differences between a stereo usb recording mixer and a multi channel recording usb mixer? Is it a huge extra expense to offer individual channels as opposed to just sending a stereo bus? It seems that trying to find a small mixer with separate channel usb recording outputs is as hard to find as the challenge I had finding a similar mid level mixer with direct outputs for each 8 channels. I just wonder why with this product range that they only offered multi usb with the 24 channel instead of just putting the option into each. Is it a case of a simple reprogramming of a chip, or a bunch of extra wiring and work? Thanks

I suspect a bad reset switch because I cannot get the unit to reset to its default password, “admin.”

I work with pretty much every console made, the only ones I haven't used are the YAMAHA Rivage and the SSL consoles, all the other brands/makes I know pretty much inside out.
I have to repair an ui24 that have a strange behavior. It came in with loud click from ch 13 that start slow and grow in rate with time. I unplug and reconnect the flat cable from fpga board to the preamp board and I get some improvement. Now while cecking the rest of the mixer I noticed that I have no response from the mcu. No gain control, no phantom power. But the more strange thing is that ch 20 and ch 10 is inverted. And yep I did ceck if the input are configured right. So now I'm thinking that probably the mcu is dead, I'll ceck the usual things like power reset clock but the more interesting things is the two swapped channel. Isn't hard wired the input to the adc? Also the output of the adc isn't hard wired to the fpga? Thanks.

thank you for the video I have a problem with the ui24r console I either have a black screen at startup or a screen with the message loading impossible to do a factory reset according to the elements I have seen this may come of the arm card?
I just received ui24r and it failed to bootup. The green lights by the master outputs are on and off endlessly, the lights by the LAN port are on continuously on. When i plug in the HDMI cable all i see is the logo of soundcraft and gets stuck with loading...I have done all the needed reset trouble shooting stuff like holding the reset button and powering it on while holding the reset button 10 secs. I also did the fullreset txt file on USB stick without any luck. I need help. What board could be the culprit? Thank you

It really depends on which USB port you're speaking of. The USB a, which host flash drives, SSD, etc.. or the USB B which is the DAW connection.
as noted in the video, they are from two separate parts of the board....
I could be wrong but, I think if your ui came with firmware version 2, it would be the version without the potentially bad USB A board. If it came with the first firmware then it could be the version with the potentially bad board.

Hi. I have a problem with all output. Even with all unplugged, and with all channel and aux muted, i have a white noise on all output. Plugging balanced cable to speaker the noise appear. Is this a problem of Ui24 at all, or is mine with this issue?

Much appreciated!! I need help. My reset button meters ok, but the indicator in the utility section shows no action when pushed. If a trace is gone, I would like to install a jumper, but I need to know a point on the card to jump to. Some jackass put passwords in and now I cant get into administration. admin/admin no longer goes. Of course, Soundcraft solves this with a new board and the required mortgage to pay for it. I would assume that reset is simply grounding a pin somewhere during boot up. Any higher consciousness would be appreciated.

Je pense à un problème de préampli et d' ampli AOP mais je n' ai pas le schéma technique structurel électronique.
J'ai localisé des circuits AOP double 4580 mais sans schéma c'est très compliqué .
Pouvez-vous m'indiquer s'il vous plait le repère côté composants du ou des Circuits intégré à remplacer .
Ou si vous avez d' autres pistes quant à ce problème de voies défectueuses, ou un schéma a me communiquer.

My ui24 overheated last weekend in 90F plus weather and the next day I couldn’t bring up the GUI webpage. I tried wired and wireless, and in each case I can ping the unit, but no blue wireless light and no web page. I’m guessing the processor and board needs replacing?

What was the reason (from engineering perspective) to actually go for an Allwinner SoC-platform (and not e.g. for NXP i.MX or similar devices)? May I also ask you how the audio-interfacing / transport between the DSP's and the Allwinner is implemented for multitrack-recording (it seems like this Allwinner doesn't have a multichannel TDM interface or similar). NXP i.MX to get a quad core system of this power is very expensive and also very hard to even buy now the chipsets are not available easily. Allwinner has similar connectivity TDM busses/fast SPI
@@mix-record-connect9938 I've got a unit in for repairs, the problem is the unit is not booting up. Shows the loading page and is stuck. My suspicions is the Allwinner H3 chip is bricked. Any ideas on how to move forward?
I also found the 1.5V (near the heatsink) output was not working and found the issue to be two open feedback resistors. Replaced them and now get the 1.5V.

Thanks for the video. My Ui24r which gets very light use and never moves from its spot has developed a weird fault. None of the USBs work properly .... and the mixer appears on phones (via external router) but NOT on HDMI. The initial Soundcraft screen appears on the HDMI (with the word loading) ... but suddenly vanishes, with the HDMI sending no signal. The interface appears OK on phones though. I'm guessing maybe it's a hardware fault.
Sounds Odd, I would reset it if you can or let it REBOOT the internet Web browser (connect KB and use CTRL F5)

Hello, I am having issue with the USB I/F not being recognized (Not in Mac, Not in Windows) It was working before. I am wondering if the USB board in the minute @ 23:20 its damage. I opened the Mixer and access to the USB board, I can see it has some CI: 9270(or 927N) and there is a component (Maybe a diode?) in between USB I/F ground pin and another pin. I will appreciate any help to defect if there is some issue in this boar. Hopefully It will not be a problem with the XMOS! I am thinking to buy this USB board, I think it should be not expensive, so I can check if it solve the issue but...mmm I am in Jordan and not any dealer or repair centre here. Do you know where I can find it delivering to Amman, Jordan?

@@mix-record-connect9938 Thanks, probably the XMOS is dead as I cut an USB B cable and connected to the USB cable terminal from the USB board, then connected to an Arduino Uno and I was able to detect the Arduino as well as upload codes with Arduino IDE. So the problem is at the XMOS side. Now the big questions : How can this XMOS could be replaced? I don't think it could be possible here in Jordan. Where can I buy the whole boar from? Hello, have you heard about problems with the headphone outputs? My ui24r has a much hotter signal output and lots of background noise on number 2. I checked and and cross patched without result. It seems to be a hardware fault.

Any specs on the a/d converters? Are they good? Also do the line inputs bypass the preamps?
Cirrus Logic, yes good, but it's about the preamp design as well, that's where this unit shines. Line input does not bypass but at zero Gain it's nearly the same as bypassing.

Question: In channel 5 I am getting a lot of crackling/fuzz at a high volume, but nothing is plugged in. This noise is also present, tho much quieter, in the five neighboring channels (4, 6, and the ones underneath and the the corners). Do you have any guess what the issue may be and how to fix it? The noise came out of nowhere one day. Started to crackle slightly and intermittently, but only 10mins later was consistent (same volume of noise at the intermittent stage as its present state)
I have little money to spare on repair, so I’d like to do it myself, but the bigger reason is I play 3 shows a week so I can’t send in my unit since I need it to be repaired by the weekend. And i don’t have the budget to buy a second while the first is getting repaired for at least 6 months.

Obviously some fault in the preamp board. You can get them to replace the preamp board, should take a couple of days. (rarely does it get repaired)

my mixer started to freeze whenever front USB ports are used. I have a touch screen connected. It’s been working flawlessly for one year and recently totally unusable as it freezes all the time and needed to reboot. How can I fix this?

Hey I got question... Is there anything in here that is supposed to be held down by a zip tie? I'm guessing not but I just bumped the side of my ui24 while reaching for the power switch and heard something fall inside of it, and I worked it out to be (from what I could see inside the vent holes) a broken zip tie. I'm just making sure. I have no clue how it would have gotten in there, only had it for a week and I haven't used or had zip ties around the thing that could have fallen in. Maybe it even fell in during manufacturing or something.
Also, do you know about channel 17 for some reason being routed to channel 23 and 24 by default even with nothing being routed to 23 and 24 by default? It doesn't say it is in the patching, but it just seems that it is from the initial snapshot. When you go route something else to 23 and 24 and then take it off (so nothing is routed again), it stops, so I'm guessing it was just a software bug.

Definitely would have came from within the unit. You can't even fit a zip tie through the vent holes.
Hello, great videos, I watched it with pleasure. In my U24R, GAIN is no longer regulated on all channels. The supply voltages on the chips are normal. I updated the firmware, did a reset. The mixer works, but the gain is frozen at maximum. What do you advise, where to dig?
What do you mean Frozen? it can't move?

Hello, many thanks for the great video. I have a question where can I find the preamplifier schematic. My problem is damage to the 3 inputs. The reason was to connect the cable with phantom voltage turned on. The operational IC has probably broken down. Could you possibly indicate which operational ICs and resistors support the 3rd input?
I don't have a schematic to share, some users traced the circuit out. An electronics repair person could do so, it could be a simple resistor or opamp I would check if the corresponding channel 13 has the same issue as the opamp of corresponding channels (under each other) are shared.
Haaa, in this mixer there is... no typical microphone preamplifiers. Microphone preamps is so noisy because on the input they dont use low noise transistor pairs as usually, microphone signal goes straight to NJW1195A (only 5nV input noise like NE5532, only 35dB gain...). Behringer XR have much more better preamp spec...
@@monter6794 Sorry, you don't know what you are talking about here. Ui24 does not use NJW1195 (only ui12-16) Ui24 has Studer designed analog Mic Preamps with digital control. Please don't comment if you do not know.
It's actually rather simple to trace, they are all discrete components which are readily available. If you trace the 3rd input you will see exactly which components it uses.

thanks dude, my question, in your opion what would be the problem after loss of USB/if , the unit stopped being visable to the PC after the PC power supply went down, The Ui24r perform perfectly as a stand alone unit including usb ports, for play and record but it will not connect to a computerm, done the firmware today, admin the multi channel driver but no banana, i use cubase so the unit is currently a pointless waste of space and considering the space saved a little ironic too... any ideas
The USB AUDIO interface chip (XMOS) is possibly sadly cooked or a lose cable from the USB port (USB B) to the main board.

the Cascade point is setup proprietary. If you just need a remote interface out front, run a ethernet cable from your external router (if used)..
This is how my system is set up. I have a hundred foot ethernet cable running from eth1 to front of house... Yes, I'm still using the internal Wi-Fi for phones and tablets on stage.
but as for using the Cascade Port, no. It is set up as a proprietary ethernet connection between two mixers.
I use USB amplifier in a mobile studio setup. That’s basically a long usb cable splitting with a power adapter at one end. Works fine as remote interface.

Hello, thank you for great video. My second headphones output doesn't work any more, it was happened after trying assign this output to aux 9 and 10, i just put jack into second headphones output to external effect, but suddenly no more sound. Of course i check everything in patch window ans also full reset and updating to 3,3 version, but still no sound. Did you thing headphones output can be broken because i insert jack to external processor?
NO, Have not seen it occur unless you shorted the cables, as it should be TRS just not TS (normal jack) if use TS maybe you shorted the terminal.

Indeed it is possible that I mistakenly tried to use my mono jack cable. I'm not sure, but it's possible, and you can imagine how sad it is for me, because I really need a second headphone output.

It would need firmware updating, at this time if you want to convert to LAN you either use Dante VIA but if you want very low latency, use WAVES SOUNDGRID STUDIO and Drivers. That would be the best way.
Mix-Record-Connect will have to get a demo to try it out to see how it would work.

Since you took the unit apart, is there any way to get S/PDIF out of the unit or any other digital format?
You could if you know what you are doing, you have TDM data there, clock, etc. The right chip soldered with the right wires would work.

Brilliant video - thanks. Have you ever come across very slow boot time followed by the unit going into a silent demo mode like on the web site? opening up and pressing the main connectors then powering on again cleared it but it did the same next time I used it (and worked again after press all main connectors). Would love to know which connector it is rather than prodding around blind. No problem if you don't have time/inclination to answer - this video is gold in itself and much appreciated.
I have but it could be a bad pin on the cable or some interference, check the connections between all the cables (even the small ones to the ARM processor.

After watching your excellent video I did check all the connectors as best as I was able when it did it again on cold-boot yesterday and today it has booted fine twice rather than going into demo mode so I hope it'll stay that way. There's no audio out of the ui24r itself in that demo mode, but it does send audio via usb interface - it's not a real song, just lots of transients across all the channels that look impressive when silent!

@@mix-record-connect9938 It boots up and all the channels show activity even with nothing connected and no sound comes out of the physical outs even if the routing is set correctly, it looks exactly like the demo they have on the soundcraft.com website. Try a different power point and power cord and make sure NOTHING ELSE is connected (no audio no usb cables, no HDMI). Otherwise it may need a service.

I am not sure, I have no idea what you have connected to it, normally would mean something (USB STICK, screen etc) is taking too much power.

My band is having same issue. Usually happens in the 3rd set with the party really rocking when the sound cuts out for 10-30 seconds and returns on it's own. Already tried an internal fan and a UPS with no change in behavior. I'd be interested in upgrading the power supply if that's the culprit. I have the unit apart and see the current model is made by XP Power model VFT80US18. It doesn't seem to be a current model on their web-page. I wonder if that's the original supply the unit was designed with and Soundcraft cheapo'd out after they bought the design. M-R-C, you seem to have great knowledge of this unit - were you on the original design team?

Hi there... Have you had an issue were the USBs don't work and the settings are not saved on restart? I can't do a factory reset either

I see no reason why a factory reset is not possible unless the memory is corrupt

I got one unit that unable to "remember" the last state. The console keep revert to default "blank" after restart, do you know how to diagnose/fix it?
Do a reset and load new firmware probably will fix the issue

J'ai du bruit sur les entrées 1 et 11 sans rien connecter physiquement.
Je pense à un problème de préampli et d' ampli AOP mais je n' ai pas le schéma technique structurel électronique.
J'ai localisé des circuits AOP double 4580 mais sans schéma c'est très compliqué .
Pouvez-vous m'indiquer s'il vous plait le repère côté composants du ou des Circuits intégré à remplacer .
Ou si vous avez d' autres pistes quant à ce problème de voies défectueuses, ou un schéma a me communiquer.

J'ai bien identifié les AOP liés a chaque piste, j'ai changé ces AOP, mais le problème persiste (bruit/souffle démeusuré sur plusieurs pistes). Avez-vous réussi a réparer la votre?
