This looks like a great little set that I haven't seen before. Great video! Thanks for the in depth review. I'm very interested in picking one of these up!
I have 3 lifetimes worth of tools. I didn’t buy this kit to replace other tools. I bought it because it’s a really cool, high quality set that I just couldn’t resist purchasing. Just had to have it. You did a great job with the review. Thanks
Picked up one of these during the parking lot sale for $25. Fantastic for working on my motorcycle. Been swapping out the bits for the one specific to my bike.
I paused the video at 8 minutes and looked this up and they had a coupon to get this for $24.99. I looked up which store had it and went and picked one up just now. It's a nice set. It feels surprisingly heavy.
Yeah, did the same, at $25 it was hard to pass up! Once I started working with it I too found it was well made and the clearance on some items on the car was really helpful. Overall I was quite pleased with the Icon quality. I tried using my regular bits in it but it wouldn’t accept them (this was the only negative).
@@blmotor1 You have to wait until harbor freight offers another coupon. They have had it at least once so I'm sure they will do it again. I clicked on the coupon on my phone and they were able to scan it.
That ICON tool set is awesome. And i've been in desperate need of a beautifully engineered tool set for the longest. I'd love to own one. Quality is my "thing."
Most mechanics use these for trim removal. I heard it’s pretty useful for cabinet installers also. I just used it last week to fix a 2008 Chevy Tahoe rear ac actuator. It was 3 t20 screws jammed in a pretty tight spot.
I have had this set for a few months now. i paid regular price for it. I build the Navy's big hovercraft, the LCAC, and I deal with some really tight spaces while working. This little set works great. It allows to get in awkward tight conditions with either a phillips bit or small sockets. The flex head also helps get in tight spots. The short length of the actual ratchet also allows me to more stroke on the ratchet than a longer ratchet.
I really like this set and I find it handy. Been using it for about a year now, and it has a lot of capability for the footprint that it takes up. The case is excellent, and the bits seem to me to be of good quality.
You've never seen the dumb places Germans put interior fasteners.... These are excellent. I believe the idea was first on tool trucks called ez red or something
Nice review! Good presentation. This is a quality set from Icon that will suit many applications for both the homeowner and proffesional alike. The case as he indicated is in fact well built and compact. This is a well thought out tool whuch deserves a serious look from anyone in need of a capable multi-tool with a no hassle lifetime warranty.
Great review, answered all of my questions. I was really glad you focused on whether or not bits push through, I almost closed the video after you pushed the extension through.
I love this set and use it all the time. It's in my junk-yard tool box at all times for dash-trim and the like. I got my wife one for using around the house. All my kids have one. The uses are endless. Oh, and I bought one for all the cars to have just in case I have the need and don't have my truck tool kit. I think in all I have bought 10 of them so far. My son is a mechanic and works on exotic cars and 4x4 trucks and loves the small design. He said that might be the best tool in his box for doing little stuff in small places.
This things awesome. The best part is the small form factor. I just wish it had an 8, 10 and 12mm. That’d not take up much room and work on most small fasteners I encounter.
Case is everything..now company's should take note..finding a good set of regular tools in a qauilty case for pickup truck with complete sets is impossible.
I believe this is the first video from your channel that has been suggested for me. Although the framing and zoom factors are very poor in this particular video, I will enjoy going through your channel to watch more tool videos.

I have needed this at my job twice in the last 2 weeks! Desperately!!! I ran to harbor freight and they definitely did not have it so I bought a $3.00 Pittsburgh and it broke on the second bolt I was removing 😢
Great breakdown of this tool and some of the hidden features like the T-handle mode. I own this as well and it's in my tool-grab-bag at all times in my trunk. Really handy and has replaced so many other tools I used to carry. I like the Klein bit set you featured; might add that to the bag!

I have a 2014 Ford Focus ST and getting an 8mm allen where it needed to go to drain my trans fluid was a fucking nightmare. An 8mm bit in a 1/4" socket on a wrench was too long, hit the control arm bushing. The regular 8mm Allen fit, but the way the hex slot on the cap was turned, I couldn't turn it to loosen it at all because the handle of the allen key was up against something from the get. There was one spot I could have turned it from, but something else was in the way by literally probably 1/16" and I couldn't quit get the angle to get the allen in the slot. I ended up having to angle the allen wrench up toward the windshield, fishing my arms through a bunch of stuff and getting a long socket extension wedged in a random spot on the transmission and use leverage from that on the end of the allen key, which slipped probably 10x before it finally worked. I started doing this at like 10pm thinking it would take maybe 30 minutes. It's two bolts and 1.75qts of liquid, how long could it take? We all know everything always goes according to plan when working on your car. Literally the entire time I was DREAMING of this tool haha, but my HF closes at 8pm. I went and bought it the next day.
