EMS VCS3 CLONE CUSTOM MADE | SWITCHTRIX ELECTRONICS

This is my own faithful recreation of the classic VCS3 in a sapele hardwood cabinet. It includes all of the common modifications on push/pull pots and features my own design of patch matrix.

Oscillators 1, 2 and 3 are switchable from audio to LFO.
Oscillator 2 features variable sync from oscillator 1 and 3.
The Filter has the unslew mod and internally can be switched from 4 to 5 pole.
The envelope shaper features short,standard and long times.
Output channel 2 features a selectable inverter.Great for setting up panning effects.
Selectable on the back panel is ability to route the meter column to either input channels for patchable inversions.
Each oscillator and filter have direct 1 volt/oct connections which can be independantly switched.
Onto the matrix...
This is my own design which features an array of 256 analogue switches rather than using pins to make the connections between modules.
It also has the advantage of having 99 patch memories.

I’ve adored the VCS3 since I sent off to EMS in early 1970 for all their mail-out stuff, and then ended up demonstrating one every Saturday in a music shop in Scarborough when I was still at school.
