You can check in the MAM when you get the unlock in the recipe. You were unlucky with the snowballs, although you will need them later on, no doubt.

You got Snowballs, I got 5 coupons, it seems to be random what you get in between the days you get the data cartridges.

At my stage of the game, coupons are hugely valuable.

When you click on the data cartridge, it tells you the day it unlocks. This takes a bit of the mystery out of it.

You'll get the data disks every 4 or 5 days if I'm not mistaken. This gives causal players time to catch up on the event. Also gives players time to collect materials for the event.
