dont even have to worry about dodging the "reprint" bullet. Have to worry more about dodging the scalpers bullet first
“on a budget” $400 booster pack -_-
There's always a chance you may lose money on it but a 400$ pack is essentially the same as $400 in savings.
Amen! Scare money don’t make money!
He did say under 1000
Lol I wax expecting like $50
He didn’t tell you to buy a whole box mate buy one if you can’t save 400 bucks you not working hard enough
I think one major benefit of collecting ETB is that ETB will cover the specialty sets while the booster box won't. For example, there is no booster box for hidden fates or champion's path. ETB gives the ability for collector to have a small piece of all the available sets out there.
Absoultely Andy. I will also add, the ETB's (especially the collector sets like Champion's Path, Hidden Fates and Shining Legends, etc...) You are guaranteed more of your moneys worth. The promo card that is usually worth 20-30 dollars raw, the dice, the sleeves, and so on, every little piece adds up, even if you rip the box and sell them individually. It's my favorite thing to collect AND rip, and nothing else comes close. Stay curious my friends!
SF and probably 25th too
@@christopherk2841 absolutely, cannnnnn't wait!
There is so much I want it’s never ending!!!!!!
Feeling you man, as soon as I flip some cards Im sticking to cards I love and sealed product
Mos def
I only collect what is sentimental to me regardless of it's value
The sentimental boss
I only collect cards that smell funny
I like this. If it doesnt look or feel good to you, its best not to have it
As I would add to the ETB investments Jake; The value in ETB's (especially the collector sets like Champion's Path, Hidden Fates and Shining Legends, etc...) You are guaranteed more of your moneys worth. The promo card that is usually worth 20-30 dollars raw, the dice, the sleeves, and so on, every little piece adds up, even if you rip the box and sell them individually. It's my favorite thing to collect AND rip, and nothing else comes close. Stay curious my friends!
I've been slowly adding booster boxes and ETB while still collecting alot of the promos. Great informative video!
I’m 27 and just got back into collecting. Starting last year with all the Pokémon craze, I decided to re-watch the entire series and ever since then I’ve had Pokémon fever. Gotta catch em all! Your video have really helped me understand the modern cards as I really had no clue what I was doing. As much nostalgia the older cards bring me they are a little too pricey for my taste. I’m much more interested in the modern cards and buying them for retail. Keep up the great videos !
Bro Im 27 too, this spoke to me so much, good luck!!
I just turned 27 too! But I can't believe you watched the whole series. You have major patience! Shout out to 1996 babies!
@ethan0248910 update I stopped watching after 5 seasons. There’s just way too many episodes and so much filler episodes. But it was fun while it lasted.
this was actually helpful ! thankqq !!
Jake, maybe an idea for a video: all the different pokemon games. I think it would be nice to see what you think of it🤔, what they cost 🤑and what games you have😄
Great video Jake! Keep it up as always. Very informative video
Great video Jake! Thanks for all you do for the hobby 🙏
Hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for the video. 🤙😊 Love that Birthday Pikachu, never seen that before!
Gosh, the Japanese base set pack art is sooo good. I wish I had picked up more as a kid. Back then I was all about the two gym sets (in Japanese) that had just come out when I got into the hobby for the first time. It's not like I kept any sealed products from back then though! Although I was able to pick up 6 sealed Chinese base set packs recently so I'm pretty happy with that!
Comment 22nd.
I’ve been collecting sealed products, promos, full arts, rainbow rare, trainers and starters,
The art work on them is just amazing.!! Specially graded.
I like these type of videos jake. Great content!
Thanks for another great video Jake
Great video, as always! Thank you Jake. You've got some nice pieces in your collection. :) Always nice to see.
Love how your teaching people not just opening packs. Good channel
Another great vid Jake🔥 keep em comin
Thx for the advice. This year I want to have a new collection and I'm new to collecting pokemon cards. I've started to order the vivid voltage, champion's path and hidden fates and soon pick them up. Those are going to be some of the collections I like to amass in my inventory and store as they are. As much as I like to purchase older trainer boxes, their price tags are steep. Will there be a video about information on the order of all the collectors boxes from the very first to recent? Maybe you have already done that and I'm just lazy to check your vids lol. But I will try to watch all your very interesting and informative videos. Thanks again for your dedication for the new hobbyists.
Totally agree with this! Amazing vid as always keep it up
Appreciate the vid man, keep up the good work👍🏻
Awesome video thanks for the info
Arita is definitely one of the most important artists... but Ken Sugimori is the #1 most important to Pokémon and Pokemon cards. The artwork on the base set box is Sugimori. The game boxes. Even down to the pixel art Sugimori-San was by far the most important and influential artist of my generation.
One of those video's of you that no one should miss!
I’m going for some vintage packs next. Dope video Jake!
7:43 - Woah woah woah! Did you know that this box has the exact same artwork style as the Altaria RC24/RC32 Pokemon card! It's the first time I see that box, but I freakin' LOVE both of the Radiant Collections, so know the cards very well and just noticed this from memory. LOVE THIS! 😍
Thank you for providing this valuable information🙏🏻😊
Informative and great video!
Thanks man, love the content!
Thank you for another great and informative video. 👍
Thanks for tips on modern Jake!
Loved this video!
Great video as usual dude. Keep it up
Fun thing is I'm in all areas of this hobby, there is so much awesome stuff to collect. There are endless possibilities
Great call on going with different languages, I’m going to look into that.
50,000 subs I told you one day you were going to blow up.(: keep it up Jake!
Thanks for this video, i really need this
Excellent, thanks Jake
I by far love collecting ETBs out of the categories, followed by booster boxes. My pride and joys are the Shining Legends ETB and Tag Team ETBs.
I love the art on the boxes of ETBs great display item
Great breakdown! Slowly building up a sealed collection is hard lol
Hey Jake, what are your thoughts on the Gold and Silver Poker cards decks?
GREAT VIDEO!!
About to hit that 50k subs!! Congrats brotha.
Jake, man you are the most likeable dude, keep up the wholesome Pokemon content!
Thank you!
Good info 😀 what is your view/opinion on mystery boxes?
Darn!, you make me want to find that tag team booster box and have one for my collection :D
Love the video yet again. You seem so much easier to watch and understand than many others who talk about products well out of reach for the average person. Just wondered if you could do an updated version of your accessible cards video. The cards that are worth investing in maybe for under $50. Always nice to learn. Also the original video if you could update on the prices of the cards now to see how they are getting on? Just an idea :). Keep it up!
I have one in the works. I think there are a ton of cool affordable cards in the hobby
@@TwicebakedJake That is great to know :). I found the last one really interesting!
You should make a video about how to buy those special pokemon collectibles you have behind there, like the pikachu wearing different outfits! Would be cool!
Thanks for another video Jake!
What is the biggest risk of graded cards?
The biggest risk is probably price drops. Sealed products consistently go up with age but graded cards do not follow that same rule, they trend more based on popularity rather than supply
Hey Jake! Where is a good place/website to purchase Japanese items. Thanks for the great content!
Solid vid!!
Loved this video! Also what do you think about the potential of hidden fates tins?
They're going to skyrocket if there's no more reprints
Im so bad at keeping sealed products, i cant help but to open them!
I feel like etb reprints are going to become a lot more common from here on
Hey Jake, I just started collecting modern Japanese booster boxes. There are so many sun & moon and sword & shield expansions to choose from but I don’t really know what would be worth the investment..could you share what some of your favorite modern expansions are (besides gx tag team all stars)?
Hi Jake!
I have started to grow my sealed collection by trying to buy 2 Build and Battle boxes + 1 Booster Box for each set.
Do you recommend that I add elite trainer boxes to my collection plan?
Thanks! (sorry for the late comment)
11:50
Here I am after the huge wave of Darkness Ablaze, Vivid Voltage, and Shinning Fates ETBs lmao.
What's your opinion on Full art trainers? I've been focussing on that lately. Purchasing them raw. Intended to get a few graded, but the waiting scares me. Also more and more tends to get lost, that I hear of. Mailing expensive cards is a big risk...
your video are very useful and informative. for the 4 areas what is the percentage of your pokemon investment in each of them? thanks
Keep making these videos please, just getting back into the hobby and this helps alot!! Are Japanese cards printed as much as English cards? I'm looking to collect some Japanese style! Watching from Scotland 🏴🏴🏴💪♥️
Team Up is my favorite modern set outside of special sets. I'm glad I kept 4 packs since the booster box is too expensive now.
Took a huge gamble and opened my hidden fates ETB the other day, ended up pulling a shiny charizard gx
Thanks for the info, how many etbs would you collect for each set and any recommendations on how to complete sets
I think one is enough honestly
Any suggestions on japanese booster boxes to open/collect? Just started looking into them and seem like a fun open.
Hey Jake what do you think about Reshiram and Charizard bundle going up. I personally feel the fact that it has Charizard (the Pokémon freaking gold) and Reshiram( one of the most known legendaries of newer generations) can potentially see it skyrocket in the upcoming years
Tried to collect sealed products, it's too hard for me to keep them sealed. That why I'm more into graded cards. Opening my products and getting the hits graded.
Hey Jake what are some good websites to pick up Japanese products?? Keep up the great content.
nice video bro ;)
You need to get t shirts printed with your logo and " welcome to the hobby" 😍🤩👌🏻
Hey Jake, love the video. Just wanted to let you know I received one of your holiday giveaway packs and it made my day! Question, when discussing the grading companies how come you never mention SGC? They have quick turn times and beautiful cases. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks again!
SGC is not big on graded pokemon cards. They're much more sports oriented and own a very small portion of the graded pokemon card market. That's all. They're definitely reputable though, an SGC graded charizard sold for $300k recently
Hey bro what do you think about the recent kanazawa pikachu price spike now it's around 80sgd.
Pokemon collecting is a bit stressful haha.
So rewarding when you FINALLY get your hand on some fresh cards though😀
Great Video, what are your thought on GYM heros / Joe Discovery unlimited packs?
They're great! I love the gym leader icons on the cards
I bought a Pokekyun box on Amazon for about $45 when it came out, wish I had bought more but I was in high school and had hardly any spending money. On the bright side I’m only missing one card from the full set!
Grabbed the special delivery pikachu when you said to and so happy I listened!! Thank you for your content!!!
I didn't get one because I was too picky with the centering, swirls, and pricing. I'm kicking myself now.
Poke Kyun is the cutest set and booster box of all time!
I got a couple of jungle blisters 🥴 I’m waiting for them to hit 1000$ each. Let’s hope the 25th anniversary makes Pokémon go crazy!
Man its funny i had all the Basics Pokemon cards when I was young I was a big collector And then I moved put everything in storage and family lost the storage now looking at your Channel i wish so bad i still had my cards oh an i had a set of First edition all of them Basa era
Hey jake! I noticed you recommended the Japanese Tag Team GX booster box. What are your thoughts about Shiny Star V? Could we expect a similar growth from this booster box as well?
Shiny Star V has already been climbing a lot. But it's so incredibly new and more supply is coming so I think Tag Team All Stars being older and having unique cards make it more appealing
Bought yesterday pokemon ruby cib in very good condition😄for only 35 euros (42 dollars)! I'm not very into pokemon cards, but I'm going to try and collect every pokemon game😁
If you want WOTC Boosters, typically Fossil is the least expensive, gym challenge and Gym heroes are also more affordable. The Neo series is typically more expensive and of course base set and base set 2 are pricy.
I know you can't garuntee anything but how do you think shining fates will do in the long run? All the hidden fates preorders were GONE day one but I can still get more shining fates in Aus.
Just bought a darkness ablaze booster box for $155 CAN! Yes a reprint could be coming but I bought bc of that red Pokémon with the wings 👀 LoL always a safe bet I find, people will always be chasing Charizard
One is coming end of feb
GRADED CARDS ARE THE WAY TO GO 👌🏻👌🏻
Found a vivid voltage etb at GameStop today!!!! Beat a scalper too. Walked right by him. He threw a fit hha it was priceless. Not assuming he was a scalper. He is a known scalper in my area
Nice!!!!
Nice. Scalpers suck
Did Darkness Ablaze Booster Box (36) get a reprint? Or is it due. Cus I'm currently considering buying them here in Denmark, but not if incoming re-print. What do you reckon?
Ty! Keep up the amazing, amazing videos!
I think it's due for a reprint
Love it
Jake never misses!
Would you get vintage cards (base set charizard etc) get graded even if they'll probably get a psa 5, if you are trying to sell them?
Thoughts on tins?
do you think champions path etb or vivid voltage is a better long term hold ? @twicebakedjake
Nice, Champions Path ELITE. I made the right investment 👍👍👍👍
Jake!! Content idea :) how do you separate your passion of collecting, from your desire to make money of reselling?!
I'm too attached to my collection to sell
I think any japanese booster packs/boxes are a really good investment. Cheap to start out too
2014 bought 3 flashfire boxes kept those sealed for years now got some serious gains in those ;)
Holy crap! Congrats that's a massive gain!
Useful info 😀. What is your view/opinion on mystery boxes?
I'll open them. But I wouldn't recommend them
Why?
Great content thanks ! :)
French booster are really appreciate here in France since we are very attached to french Pokemon names. So you can safly invest in french Pokemon cards but keep it mind that it will only be very valuable for french people :)
French and italian used to be worthless in English speaking countries but the lack of psa10s makes them rarer than english ones and the price is slowly going up
As ODB would say ‘ooo baby I like it raw!’, so then I can grade it lol
