Honestly since 2019, I’ve felt a little bit disconnected from the nerd. Besides the majoras mask episode and contra episode, his new episodes have been pretty mid. But I really enjoyed some of his episodes from a couple years before. Earthbound, polybius, sonic 06, paperboy, Hong Kong 97 and of course, megaman, are some of my personal favorites. But I think we can all agree episodes 1-100 was the golden era of the nerd

Well it got better now but overall 2015-16 was worst year to avgn to be fair
NES Accessories was the first AVGN episode I ever watched! I was about 11 at the time. Was also 8 in 2008 so we're about the same age. Good video!

Even if you don't find the new material as strong as the old, you have to admire how consistent he's kept the overall quality for all these years. Take a look at Nostalgia Critic for example and see how time has treated him.
I think episodes like Town With No Name, Amiga32X, Resident Evil Survivor, even the Alladin Deck Enhancer has a few good moments. There are some good new episodes. However this entire year is pretty apparent how low quality is dropped. In James's own words, "You cant keep doing the same thing over and over or else you'll put out crap, but every now and then it's good to bring it back."
My favorite years of the Nerd were 2013-2015. We got fewer episodes a year but they were all very good. I'd rather have few great episodes than many bad or boring episodes.
@@Waylon128 then again it is 2020 apocalypse so let's give him the benefit of the doubt and see how next year looks
My favourites are the Batman games, Ninja Gaiden, avgn games, crossover with the nes punk, Godzilla, Ghost and Goblins, Robocop, Terminator, Jurrasic park and Mk mythologies

This is a good list. Although not all the new episodes are bad. They’re fine but he’s had some recent standouts. Like game boy accessories.

Are the new episodes the ones that came after the avgn movie?
I know it’s fun to poo on the newer episodes but the Resident Evil and Homebound were great.
I’m not a fan of the Bugs one.

@@NintendoDude888 that dude is so mid, he basically defines it. He’s an example of how its not really the best stuff that takes off but really only the most safe and average. He’s just competent and appealing enough, without being actually too interesting or insightful to alienate lots of people.
It makes sense that he so popular, but its also kind of sad 😝
