Trevor, excellent that you just tell it all straight and don't add overpowering music!!! Some have sound overwhelming their dialogue, your voice is clear and easy to understand! Very good thanks!
OMG!!! My 2012 Sonata 2.0t is the BEST car I have ever owned!!! I still love it to this day!!! She has aged so well, I'm so proud of her!!! The ride is a little rough but I assume its because of the low profile tires and rims. I was greatly disappointed when they changed from this model to the next one... They seriously took a beautiful curvy, nice looking car!!! And dumbed it down, made it plain and simple, took away the beautiful blue lit interior and I vowed to never buy another one. Instead I would buy its sister thw kia optima. Those are at least still sexy!!!
@concordenerd I noticed that at the car show a week ago...they actually don't go inside the trunk at all. They are contained neatly inside the upper trunk body near the speakers.
@Abdihakim308 there's no possible way your key can get locked inside. As long as the key falls in certain range - like its inside the vehicle - you cannot lock your doors or they dont get locked by themselves
My 2011 Kia Sorento EX also has the smart proximity key (identical to yours with a different logo). One thing we have that you didn't mention is there is smart key dock in the center console. You insert the key and a green light goes on indicating the key is docked. You remove it by pushing on the key. Its handy if you don't want to leave it in your pocket. At the same time its annoying since you dig down in the bottom of the console for it. Does the Sonata have a dock somewhere?
my brother have a 09 Avenger, and even though the doors are locked, when u reach to open the door, even though its locked, it will automatically unlock the doors as u are opening just one of the front 2 doors.

With the smart key, is there a setting that when you walk up to the car it automatically unlocks and when you walk away it locks? Just curious if anyone knows the answer to this.
This may be a stupid question, but do the doors automatically lock if you shut the car off and walk away with the smart key? Or do you have to hit the "lock" button on the key?
Malissa Mondazzi my key is on the fob u see that little silver button on the fob press it and the key 🔑 will pop out. Found it by mistake lol I was locked out and desperate 🙏

@pcgeek86 Hey I checked out the car when I was at the dealer a few days ago. If you look inside the console armrest compartment in the very front towards the bottom is the dock.

i find it weird that the trunk hinges actually fold into the trunk and get in the way or large loads... in previous sonatas 06 07 08... they had actual hydraulics for the trunk that would be placed on the outside side to avoid this issue. I find it weird that all the new tech and Hyundai made this feature worse :/

Go to the bluetooth option, scroll down and select delete then you see a list of already paired bluetooth devices. Just push the scroll button down and it will delete the selected device.....
English Supervisor Adel Hassoun hold down the voice button on the steering wheel . hold on for a while as it starts changing languages . repeat until you hear it set to english . hope that helps (i just literally fixed that in my car using youtube on how to fix that)

I believe you can open the trunk from the outside with the press of a button on the trunk itself without having to pop it from the inside.
But can you use Pandora iHeartRadio and Spotify through your phone to the car

Its been so long im sure by this time you figured out that if you have the key in your pocket you can open the trunk with the button on the trunk
The smart key system is virtually identical to the 2007 and newer Nissan Altima's system.

The slot is inside the center armrest compartment. You put the fob in a slot in there.
Just bought a 2014 sonata and I had no idea what that was. So put the key there and it will start as well if the battery in the remote ever died?
I’m pretty sure the door for Auto Unlock is once a door opens the rest open

“Door” means you have to do it by hand.

On the smart key, how do I lock the trunk and glove compartment when I'm valeting my car?
Use the key inside the key fob to lock the glove compartment. Same for trunk. There's a hidden key hole on the trunk left side by tag
