An underrated Hulk-Bromance I like is Hulk and Spider-Man. Spider-Man is able to relate to Hulk's situation of being called a monster or menace even when he does something good. And Hulk just thinks Spider-Man is funny. There's even a nice moment where it's revealed that Hulk still remembers Spider-Man's identity after the events of the "One more day" storyline.
“Banner forgot. Hulk not forget.” In that same comic, Spidey ended up getting the Hulk powers momentarily, and after living as him for like a few days, has a whole new perspective on how hard Bruce’s life is and decided to stay with him as he changed back into the Hulk, and Hulk thanks him for that.
There's an older one I liked where Spidey goes after the Hulk thinking he crashed a plane that supposedly killed MJ. They both duke it out until Spidey and Hulk team up to stop a train from crashing in the middle of their fight. Hulk then explained that he tried to save the people on the plane and Spidey thanked him for his help. Could be misremembering some of it but for that most part that's how it goes
Finally someone gets it, that’s hulk is basically a big kid that’s been traumatized. Something I always like to think is that with banners love interest like Betty Ross. The reason she calms down hulk isn’t because banner recognizes her as his lover, it’s actually hulk recognizing her as a motherly figure. That’s why he listens to her
An add to Bruce advising/ steering the hulk is that Hulk fights smarter than a raging child would. Police car gauntlets, breaking off an abomination elbow spike and stabbing him with it, and finally, the use of the chain to choke out the Abomination to win the fight. Hell, in the Avengers, he aims his super jumps super well, and even figures out how to pull a leviathan off course to keep it from smashing through a building.
I agree with your point but some of these are horrible examples. Why would a child-minded brute with the strength of a god NOT think to force a hunk of metal into makeshift boxing gloves lol. Why would he NOT look at the spikes popping out of Abomination & think "I wonder if I can hurt him with these shiny pointy things he's got all around him"
My favorite part about that comic is when Doctor Strange finally gets inside his head and realizes to his horror that Bruce Banner is just as pissed off as the Hulk about what happened to Sakaar
What I like about Planet Hulk is that Banner and Hulk were working together in their revenge. Iirc they forcibly reverted the Hulk to Banner thinking that he would be willing to talk, only for Banner to willingly turn into the Hulk to finally get a hit on Dr Strange.
I'm so happy to see you posting again- I do miss your tattoo sleeve f-ing with the green screen with this format, but I'll survive. Just happy you're back!
It's been a while since I read the comics but if I remember right the whole World War Hulk part where he comes back to annihilate the Illuminati is even scarier than the Hulk managing to push past Banner. [Comics spoilers] Banner and Hulk both fall in love with a woman they meet on Sakaar and they marry her. Then she dies when the ship he was banished from Earth in explodes and they're manipulated into thinking the Illuminati put a bomb on it to try and kill him in space. Banner and Hulk are both overwhelmed by rage and grief and they BOTH resolve to go back to Earth and avenge her death. Hulk isn't muscling past Banner, Banner ALSO wants them dead and lets Hulk just go wild to the point he nearly destroys the planet through sheer volume of gamma radiation coming from him, let alone actually physically attacking it. He fights THE SENTRY to a standstill, and that dude is supposed to be Marvel's answer to Superman.
Yea, in World War Hulk, they are explicitly on the same page Like one of their first plans to stop him is to get Strange to get through to Banner and get him to see reason, only for banner to say outright, "Yea, I'm actually on board with him. You will get what you deserve"
Further spoilers for the comics, the ship wasn't set up to explode by the illuminaty, it was actually a member of his warband. He was worried that the hulk isn't being a warrior any more, since they basically brought peace to the whole planet. So when the truth comes out he's even more angry and saddened by his friends betrayal that his screams almost destroy earth all together. I'm prrty sure he sands earthquakes all over the eastern seaboard. The ending is a bit boring tho. They suck the radiation out of him, using a satellite, then they make red hulk, using that energy
I liked both of these arcs. I think the mutant was named Darwin or something, but while fighting his power decided the best way to survive the Hulk was to not be there and teleported him away.
There are so many good hulk quotes. From his pledge to the war bonded on Sekar. To just before he beat black bolt near death. “ I don’t wanna hear you shout I want to hear you scream!” To the fantastic monologue, where he makes his announcement to invade earth and take his revenge on the illuminati that exiled him to say car in the first place. “ if I don’t have the bodies of Iron Man, reed Richards, Doctor Strange, and Professor X (he raises black bolt busted up body) I will do this to your whole stinking planet.”
One of the best Hulk - Thor super bros moments from the Abengers animation is when they take out a couple of of space ships with a high altitude, gravity assisted High 5 - its BOSS!
I always thought that Thor liked the hulk more. But he needed Bruce for that specific moment is all. He did tell everyone out loud the hulk was a friend from work.
I like hulk being like a "protector" of banner who wants to protect him from his childhood trauma For me good hulk stories work when they both learn they are different people but they don't have to hate each other, hell when Hulk and Banner have true moments of CARING for one and other I love that
I think my favorite hulk line isn't even the one that's said by him it's when he's just menacing the pedophile he creeped up on and the guy's just like you know I'm a good guy right or something like that and the hulk just stands there and then one of the scariest things that could possibly happen happens. The thing that is powered by rage at least a little bit gets happy. Think about that this guy is terrified reasonably cuz he's a terrible person who deserves the things that to happen to him and the hulk says nothing silently smiling at him menacingly. In the most like psychological horror type of fear like you look at this and you just feel the rage the fucking menace emanating off of the page and we never see what happens but we know what happens we know very very very very very very evidently what happens and I just love it
It's honestly really sad considering the lore because as it's been expanded it's more so implied the hulk is dissociative of identity formed by Bruce in his childhood. A protective older brother. The Ang Lee Hulk movie is my favourite of the live action movies with hulk simply because i think it is the best depiction of the Hulk they have done. Despite all the bad things in that movie, that depiction of the Hulk was easily the best in my oponion.
Loving the Hulk character in the Ang Lee movie is the first step to liking the entire movie.. Eventually you'll find out why.. It explains everything in so much detail, to make up for the nighttime fights, on the Bruce Banner story
@@JohnGarciaOHMSS You're not alone.. I have many favorite scenes in the movie, but the Mutant dogs fight is my absolute best.. The only time Hulk killed, and it was brutal
I don't think a man who has saved the world time and time again at great self sacrifice is the kinda guy to care about what someone calls themselves... But okay
I wish Infinity War didn't delete that scene of Bruce and Hulk talking through their differences. Hulk refusing to help because he doesn't want to go back to being used like a weapon for the benefit of people that hate him after living a good life surrounded by people that adore him on Sakaar would've been a good explanation for why Hulk didn't want to come out, and it would've been a great set up for the reconciliation between Bruce and Hulk. (if only it had actually been a reconciliation instead of Bruce completely getting rid of Hulk's personality...) Since the final cut of Infinity War didn't give any reason for why Hulk refused to come out, the conclusion that most people made is that Hulk was scared of Thanos, and that's both a stupid reason and out of character for Hulk.
Karl is right about the bruce buffer one thing tho is on the planet hulk n bruce decides to work together so when they come bk it's not just hulk whose pissed brunce agrees which is how they hit strange

I do like how in Endgame, Professor Hulk clearly has a lot more attitude than just Banner. Like when Thor grabs him and says, "Don't say that name here." Hulk drops his voice a little and says, "Take your hands off me." Or when he's talking to The Ancient One, and he's really arrogant when she doesn't immediately give him the stone until he gets separated from Hulk. …they just half-assed it.
Love how we had a Funko pop come out before the infinity war movie showing Hulk busting out of the Hulk buster armour just for it not to happen in the final movie.
The Hulk being directly inspired by Frankenstein's monster is a perfect addition to the 'abuse victim' metaphor. Since the entirety of Frankenstein is basically the story of an irresponsible jackass creating life, the immediately abandoning it to a harsh, uncaring world that it doesn't understand.
Also, recently Thanos pulled back up on Earth and specifically avoided boxing the Hulk cause he knew if he kept boxing him and him and the Illuminati jump him its wraps
That whole depiction of The Hulk's rage and its origin is why I love that movie. And the weird comic book vibes from someone who grew up watching Bill Bixby.
The Hulk is my favorite Marvel superhero and it's so nice to hear people who share so many opinions with me about the Hulk. I was not happy with smart Hulk in the MCU
It has been a few years since i read Planet Hulk (World War Hulk was after when he did return), i seem to recall that Hulk wanted to stay on the planet. The ship blew up for unrelated reasons. His unborn child did live through the explosion. I actually like that storyline.
I remember in one of the spider-man shows (don't forget the hyphen between "spider" and "man") spider-man met the hulk, who was basically just being used as a loose leash weapon by Fury and the hulk refers to spider-man as "bug", which of course leads to a correcting quip which hulk ignores. But then, after all the events of the episode (it's spider-man's life, shit goes down as always), hulk refers to spider-man as spider, not bug, showing his respect. Also hulk's weakness is puppies. Lots, and lots of puppies.
The Hulk in the MCU having no friends is really crushing; he’s a kid in a near-constant state of unhappiness being steered around by the adults in his life to be violent-I can’t even think of a time when someone was kind to him without them doing so to get something out of it
In the Novel of The Incredible Hulk there is some small but interesting things. Like the fight in Harlem at first it his hurting the Hulks hand when he punches abomination and that is why the Hulk uses the car as gloves. Also before Banner meditates he is thinking and analyzes the thunder clap as a really smart move to push out the air and leave a vacuum to put out the fire.
11:00 During the first half of planet hulk Bruce was kinda suppressed but by the end of that event when he became king and had his wife ( who accepted and loved both Bruce and hulk unlike Betty Ross) who had a child on the way was Bruce no longer suppressed but united with the hulk and then his ship exploded killing everyone So in the event of world war hulk the reason the green scars rage ( or otherwise known as world breaker) was so limitless yet still somewhat contained was because Bruce wasn’t acting as a limiter he was angry too and then at the end when truth was revealed only then did both Bruce and hulk let go of limiting themselves and begin to break the world 🌍
Karl bringing back Fact Fiend, a godtier series, to support the channels of Lucas and other individuals just as creative as himself? Sign me the HELL UP!
Thank you for the video and yes more insights in to the comics and films of Hulk Red. I grew up watching the TV Series "The Hulk" but haven't watched it since. I don't have bad memories and The Hulk was always there to defend the defenceless or save people, usually women and children.
theirs a comic where a psychic mutant assassin goes into Bruce banner's mind and he ends up getting ripped apart by the alternate personas of the Hulk.
Hulk does have one friend, they never really show it in the MCU just the comics (I wish they did) but Peter Parker is hulks only friend and he treats hulk the way a friend should
The Juggernaut is probably the only person that can go straight up toe to toe with world war hulk which is probably the strongest version of the hulk (one of them at least). WW Hulk himself avoided to try fighting him straight up too
I agree with what you're saying about Smart Hulk, but you all understand that this is just one point in his evolution? There is a new conflict that buds, and eventually more personalities start popping up. The only reason we haven't seen that yet is because Universal won't let Marvel make a standalone Hulk movie. They have to tell his story through other movies.
I really hope the mcu hulk is building up to a moment where he loses control and the hulk comes back stronger then before. As he is now the character sucks
I think the banner limiter thing is even more backed up by Starship Hulk and that one movie where Loki seperates the two and bruce dies so hulk just crashes out and kills like a bunch of asgard
It would be a great twist if it turns out that the way mcu banner became smart hulk was by doing something similar to starship hulk where banner put cybernetics inside his head to steer and control hulk
I like the avengers cartoon where they made hulk a little smarter and they slowly build up to a moment where he and banner are completely in tune with themselves. Also hulk and thor are friends and thor gets mad when hulk turns back into banner and he becomes better at video games
If I remember in the comic World Breaker Hulk is so strong because both he and Banner agree that the illuminati should pay for the death of his wife and child, so he's not pulling Hulk's punches, he's not being suppressed he's allowing Hulk to take the wheel. You essentially find this out because to stop Hulk They try to pull Banner's psyche to the surface and force him to revert, which works temporarily as he become Banner again before Banner tells them basically "You shot me and Hulk into space with the intention of us being killed or worse, you can all go to hell, because you see, me and Hulk have an agreement" before becoming Hulk again by letting Hulk take over.
From the comics mine is where world breaker hulk is fighting black bolt "I do not come to hear you whisper I came to hear you scream!" In the comics Mister fantastic made some pants using the same fabric as his clothes so they can stretch wean banner transforms into the hulk.
I believe they could have done the smart hope situation way better than what it was done on screen without it being too difficult because in the comics it's a combination of banners Joe physic personality the savage all personality and banners all rolled into one giving the hulk the confidence and the intelligence all while him acknowledging that he is just Bruce/Hulk they are one personality at that point. It's a shame the MCU riders fail to understand the character they had and the amount of development they could have done while keeping him relatively strong
The talk about Ang Lee's Hulk made me realise something. Hulk and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice fall in a similar camp in my opinion, for different reasons. They're bad movies with one really, really good scene that really understands what it's doing. In Hulk, its big problem it misses the mark in terms of filmmaking. It's just put together poorly. Batman V Superman misses the mark in its characters. It completely misunderstands the characters. Both, however, have one scene where they really, really get it. Those being the aforementioned “Take it all,” and then the Black Zero Event. You could probably take the Black Zero Event and warehouse scene out of that movie then delete the rest of that movie and no one important would miss it. You definitely can't do that with Ang Lee's Hulk since that amazing scene is the culmination of everything that movie built up. Dawn of Justice systematically tore down everything that scene built up. You'd have to re-edit the entire movie to make Hulk good but you'd have to rewrite the entire movie to make BvS good. Tl;dr: Both are trainwrecks but I have more respect for Ang Lee than Zack Snyder.

Also before Banner meditates he is thinking and analyzes the thunder clap as a really smart move to push out the air and leave a vacuum to put out the fire.
11:00 During the first half of planet hulk Bruce was kinda suppressed but by the end of that event when he became king and had his wife ( who accepted and loved both Bruce and hulk unlike Betty Ross) who had a child on the way was Bruce no longer suppressed but united with the hulk and then his ship exploded killing everyone
So in the event of world war hulk the reason the green scars rage ( or otherwise known as world breaker) was so limitless yet still somewhat contained was because Bruce wasn’t acting as a limiter he was angry too and then at the end when truth was revealed only then did both Bruce and hulk let go of limiting themselves and begin to break the world 🌍
Karl bringing back Fact Fiend, a godtier series, to support the channels of Lucas and other individuals just as creative as himself? Sign me the HELL UP!
I’d love to see more fact fiend !
Thank you for the video and yes more insights in to the comics and films of Hulk Red. I grew up watching the TV Series "The Hulk" but haven't watched it since. I don't have bad memories and The Hulk was always there to defend the defenceless or save people, usually women and children.
You can't just show me two best friends play and make me sad again
Best hulk quote is "hulk strongest there is !"
theirs a comic where a psychic mutant assassin goes into Bruce banner's mind and he ends up getting ripped apart by the alternate personas of the Hulk.
Yeah I would love to see more about the Red Hulk
the thing with the ang le's hulk is that people are starting to warm up to it
Hulk does have one friend, they never really show it in the MCU just the comics (I wish they did) but Peter Parker is hulks only friend and he treats hulk the way a friend should
It took me like half the video to realize the different background 😅
The Juggernaut is probably the only person that can go straight up toe to toe with world war hulk which is probably the strongest version of the hulk (one of them at least). WW Hulk himself avoided to try fighting him straight up too
Love the dinosaur sheets
I agree with what you're saying about Smart Hulk, but you all understand that this is just one point in his evolution? There is a new conflict that buds, and eventually more personalities start popping up. The only reason we haven't seen that yet is because Universal won't let Marvel make a standalone Hulk movie. They have to tell his story through other movies.
Welcome back
Y'all have been Shadow banned up until like a week ago. I'm glad to see you guys coming back
Gotta live the Hulk, he has it all, super punches and an very good backstory
I really hope the mcu hulk is building up to a moment where he loses control and the hulk comes back stronger then before. As he is now the character sucks
I would love to see every single Hulk and that includes all of his variance
Bruce Hard controls how Banner the Incredible Punch can Hulk
I like to think that Bruce knows nothing can stop the hulk from smashing but could only ask hulk to smash less
Hulk SAUNTERS DELICATELY.
Hulk has the TNG Worf problem.
Dude, I love Gamma Crush
Ayyyy is fact fiends back?
I'm so mad at you guys for bringing the channel back. Eat shit for making me think I had to drink my coffee rewatching your old videos, Karl.
From the comics mine is where world breaker hulk is fighting black bolt "I do not come to hear you whisper I came to hear you scream!"
In the comics Mister fantastic made some pants using the same fabric as his clothes so they can stretch wean banner transforms into the hulk.
So I've been reading a lot of berserker recently and now I have to wonder. Whose anger filled rampage would win out between the hulk and guts.
I love Fact Fiend.
Spider-man is Hulks friend
