Ok so I have a wild Peely theory due to this season so bear with me In chapter 5 season 3 we see a banana peel in the weapon x lab, which implies that Peely was infused with adamantium witch is confirmed in an Instagram post that calls peelveriens claws nanamantium. If you didn’t know, the weapon x program only works on being that regenerate at a rapid pace, as the adamantium would literally melt them from the inside out. THIS MEANS that peely can regenerate with a healing factor on par with Logan, which is shown by the fact that in chapter 2 season 5s end event he is completely destroyed but returns seemingly unharmed. This also explains why several snapshots of Peely are from the past, like potassus peels. THIS OUTRIGHT PROVES that peely, is in fact IMMORTAL

Peelverine just kind of broke me I’m like seriously epic games you couldn’t just make a new regular wolverine where it’s a different variation that fits this battle pass better! And of course the item shop version had to look weird because god forbid they overshadow the original from chapter 1 🤦♂️
