Simply Gorgeous
I love this so much! So cool to hear this interesting arrangement after performing it this semester. It really makes me think about the music in an interesting new way.
Classic Brahms reimagined! Well done guys!
This is a crazy collab
If anybody is wondering about the level of musicianship here, for example, Brandon Ridenour, Chris Colletti, and Eric Reed were once members of the Canadian Brass. Combine that with first rate audio productions, and you REALLY need something better than tinny little computer speakers.
Not to mention Carol Jantsch, principal tuba of the Philadelphia Orchestra, who won the spot at 21 while still in college effectively beating out 196 applicants. She is the first woman to hold the tuba chair of a major symphony orchestra and teaches at Yale. I guess that’s small potatoes compared to being in the Canadian Brass…
@@greenemonger No. Her accomplishments are NOT small potatoes. Here is how the logic works out. If someone has been in the Canadian that arguably means they are top tier. It does not negate that others might ALSO be top tier. In your example, the person simply chose a different musical career path. For example, the Canadian Brass was formed in 1970. That left plenty of opportunity for Adolph Herseth, principal trumpet of the Chicago Symphony for a mere fifty three years, to have considered joining at some point. Instead, he stayed with the CSO. Arguably, Herseth was top tier.
Big shout out to Marshall Gilkes! So glad you guys are brass buddies and appear on each other’s projects.
And to old Johannes Brahms (1833 - 1897) - you continue to inspire!
Sublime !
The third movement of the third symphony of the third composer of the three Bs.
No, it´s not Bruckner
That´s a really moving reimagination/performance/recording. It´s a big plus to be able to listen to something today, in a otherwise really difficult world. Thank you!
Love it. Amazing arrangement. Great playing by all…. But lead bone is FIRE. He makes it next level. The licks. Oh my!!! Kudos and thanks.
Beautiful!
