@@mrbestohyeah If I remember correctly, the composed piece of music is performed and recorded as it was written, then the alternative version is the version recorded with the cinematic timings in mind. You may have seen recording sessions that show the scenes from the movie while the orchestra plays, this would be the alternative recording session in which the music is timed to the scene to the director's taste. In other words, the alternative is the film release, the original composition is obviously the original music written before the movie scenes were filmed.
Much as Johnny Depp and Jack Sparrow are irreplaceable icons of the series, it was becoming clear after Dead Men Tell No Tales that a reboot was badly needed. The movie read like a really bad fanfic and ignored the established lore of the previous four films. For example: the compass. DMTNT shows Jack getting it from his former captain, but Dead Man's Chest tells us that he got it from Tia Dalma/Calypso. Also, DMTNT tells us that to give up the compass would "unleash the horror of the Devil's Triangle", yet throughout the previous four films and ESPECIALLY in At World's End, Jack gave up the compass many times without consequence, and recovered it soon after. You can see how this is a serious issue.
@@Dumbrarere Technically he just lent it to other people, he never actually gave it up, and he always got it back as well. Letting someone borrow something is different than giving it up. So there’s nothing wrong with the compass not releasing Salazar earlier than it did. So the only discrepancy on your list is the one regarding how Jack first acquired the compass. But even *that* one could possibly have an explanation.

Because the respective scene or section is recorded by default. And then there is the CD recording again, which can be alternatively or shortened
