Gosh, these are the types of reading months that we all live and strive for hahah. I am curious to try out some Keegan, there's so much buzz around her works. And consider me sold on We Begin at the End!! Hope the positive streak continues into July! 🤩
A random subscriber actually just sent me 3 books including Kalvin Ellis' new book! so excited to get to that sometime this year, hopefully the audio comes out soon.
I’m very hesitant reading will of the many. It has me curious but I will probably wait till the series is finished :P I did not like the authors other series though, so curious how the series continues and what others are thinking as it does.
I'm glad you talked about The Devil All the Time being disgusting at times. I don't think I ever mentioned how I view that part of it. I hate gross books, I can't stand icky violence, explicit torture, scary bits, or body horror, which is why I almost never read regular horror books. I always tell customers that this book has everything I hate in it, but the writing and the storytelling are so perfect, I had to read it. And so perfect that Pollock is an auto-buy for me. I don't care what he writes next, I'm reading it! Some highlights from this year are Hello Beautiful, Napolitano; Soldier Sailor, Kilroy; Family Family, Frankel; Giovanni's Room, Baldwin; Pet, Chidgey; Again and Again, Evison; Elena Knows, Pineiro; So Late in the Day, Keegan; and Monstrilio, Cordova. My best read so far is Prophet Song by Lynch -- this year's Booker winner. The way Lynch turns up the anxiety with excruciating but exquisite slowness is amazing! I think this is an important novel for the US, especially right now. But I know you read a lot of lit also, so there's my list. I think you'd like Pet, Monstrilio, and Prophet Song. Ok, my next project is getting you to read Rene Denfeld!
Don’t mind me just adding all of those books to my TBR. 😂 Of those, I have only read Monstrillio (which I really enjoyed). Thanks for all of the recommendations! Also hoping to read some Rene Denfield next month. 😊
Did they make a Netflix adaptation of The Devil All the Time? I feel like I saw a trailer for that and it looked quite intense and depressing. My reading year was kind of stuck in the 3-4 ⭐ range outside of my Lord of The Rings reread (which was a solid 10 out of 5 😂) until I got to Oathbringer and have since had a couple more 5 ⭐ bangers in the form of The Sword of Kaigen, Quaint Creatures, and a poetry book my friend wrote which is called Who Am I When I'm Not Watching? I'm listening to Rhythm of War for the first time now and really enjoying it, though not as much as books 2 and 3. I can see The Way of Kings being even better on reread since you'd have everything kind of recontextualized by the reveals that come later on. The only real miss for me with the series has been the novellas, but those are still pretty good.
Yes, there is a Netflix adaptation! I haven’t watched it yet, but it looks to be pretty faithful! Sorry to hear you haven’t had too many new favorites! I have read Kaigen and Quaint Creatures though and both were great! Glad we are both enjoying some Stormlight rereads! I can’t wait to get to new-to-me books! I only have to reread Oathbringer and I’m there!
Congratulations winners!
Yay!
what a fun "BUDDY READ" it was hahaha
oh don't act like you don't pull this same stunt when we buddy read stuff! 😂
I feel no remorse. 😈
When I saw I was pinged, I was excited, assuming I won the giveaway! But then I found out my wife won...I'm slightly salty lol
Well really you also kinda won because you're allowed to read them too if you want🤣
@@TheChapterConundrum woulda been more fun if I won though 😝
@@BookishDrummer I disagree sir. 🙃
Better luck next time. 😂
Way of Kings is definitely my favorite, 2nd fav book of all time
Yay! Thanks for the giveaway. I just emailed you.
I’m glad you liked The Will of the Many and Words of Radiance!
Bridge Four for life!!

Nice!! I think you’ll like it even more than book one.
I have a bold prediction that Wind & Truth is gonna wind up being your fav of the Stormlight books so far! :P
Fingers crossed!

I thought about holding off until more books were out too! With that ending, it might have been a good idea lol.

Rhythm of War was soooo good, but probably not better than Way of Kings, in my humble opinion.
I really liked Paris Apartment - it's super dark, but I thought it was well done. I'm reading Midnight Feast now.
I do not like Emily Henry.
I hope you like The Midnight feast!!
The Devil All The Time was good, but a bit too depressing for me, definitely not a fun book lol
Your mom is good but a bit too depressing for me.
@@ianthereader ?!?!?!?!
@@BookishDrummer did I stutter? 🤨
@@ianthereader honestly a fair assessment lololol
