Its quite impressive that thorns can assign multiple roles such as a healer, caster or a hexer supporter along with many ways of using his skill set in various game modes IS, RA2 and SSS

@@dalgona4819 RN it is 90% uptime for s2. Now imagine if you could have 110% uptime for s2 for example. It allows you to stack double dot and hot for a short time without losing out on the active device at any point. Additionally, currently the max aoe is only for a few seconds. If you increase the duration then the device will be at the huge range for far longer. Beyond s2, s3 uptime is not as high but this is an extremely strong debuff to enemy defense and res. If you can make the duration of this skill near 100% then you will have a very insane debuff for almost the whole stage.
The overall stats of this skill are not that insane, like ~1k arts dps and ~100 hps. The AOE size is the obvious kicker here, but tbh this is only useful if there are actually enemies spread that far. The real secret of this skill, the real gem here, is 90% uptime. That is absurd, 1k dps and 100 enmity healing in that large of an area for 90% of the entire stage? Wow.

@Lulu_Gaming1025 alright thanks for the suggestion, also one of my considerations for Saria is that she can tank Arts pretty well, can Bassline be a good alternative to her if I decide to just pick Thorns?
Indeed, for an archetype that is quite new, he already fits some roles, especially since his skill recharges right after casting because his throwable has their own count (?) Also quick question does his throwable stats can be buffed with buffers, like skalter?
@@chesteran5719 His throwable doesn't have its own stats. The throwable deals damage and heals based off of Thorns ATK. So if you buff thorns, then the throwable will be buffed as well
Only his survivability is a problem (alchemist hp stats are really low). Offensive wise, not really. His skills dealing arts damage means that it doesn't really matter how high his attack are since it always gets reduced proportionally. If anything else, him dealing continuous DOT type arts damage means he has deceptively high damage per skill (iirc his S3 has like 50k damage, and that's on an true AOE while also debuffing the enemy to hell and back)
Think of him as the same as trapmasters, they have low stats to compensate the fact they create additional things that also deal damage/utility. And just as trapmaster his deployable thingies have crazy high multipliers that more than make up for his low base stats.
That's because s2 is not what you use when you _really_ want to do damage. Plus it's also giving regeneration to everyone in its range, that's a big part of it.
Ah yes. Because with a support like Thorns alter, his S2 should've been a DPS delete button. Great thinking. Especially with that type of range. Every enemy should've immediately died to a 20 SP cost skill from a support unit that has a range bigger than Wisadel.
@@A1D7 It is still a pretty good skill. Crazy good uptime, huge range, health regen (which can heal Enmty units as well), healing *reduction* to enemies, Arts DoT.
I don't think I'd pull him. He's a trash mob killer and his competitions are Archetto, Passenger and Reed alter S3. And, they do the same job or even better than him.
Comparing to Archetto or Passenger who main stuff is DPS is crazy (except for Reed, she is a league on her own ig), Passenger at most can spend his life restore his big SP when Thorns literally can spam his S2 killing enemy left and right and Archetto can't even shred high def enemies nowadays. Thorns is litterally the hybrid of support and dps, his job is not only trash mob killer, there are a bunch of OP who already can do that (while he can instant heal enmity op better than Bard, his s3 can decrease def, res, atk, which made his dot can even shred a group of enemy or even bosses easier . If thorns can get alter I bet passenger will definitely get his alter too I just hope😮😮😮
he's like the compression of many characters but mostly the good ones are taken

Lowkey hope the metasIaves keep calling him mid and unnecessary so the devs give him the Viviana treatment.
