There's a fair number of free soul gems at the college, once you've been granted entry. One in the player character's room in the hall of attainment, three in the player character's room in the hall of countenance, and about 8 or so by the enchanting table in the upstairs of the hall of countenance; all free to take without being marked for theft.
If you use the transmute ore spell which you can find in a bandit camp nearby, you can buy iron and silver ore off of Adrienne and Kodlack, convert them to gold, make gold necklaces and rings and do the same process - I believe that might level you faster due to the value increase - it also increases wealth faster and every time you reload save with for petty gems it’ll reset their inventories as well.
It only levels Smithing faster, which is why I didnt mention it. You also make more money creating Enchanted daggers as the enchantments itself are worth way more.
Depends on what you want to level. Transmute is great for power-leveling Smithing since you can just spam out gold rings for maximum benefit. (The pair of rings together is worth more than a single gold necklace.) If you order a companion to take literally every piece of Dwemer scrap you ever encounter, you can smelt that into ingots to help power-level Smithing too. Then either make something to sell, or sell them as-is. Enchanting on the other hand levels per action (learning or making an enchantment), not by item value, so you can really enchant whatever you want. May as well do Banish on an Iron Dagger because of the cost/benefit ratio, and the fact that even a petty soul gem results in a dagger worth over 1000 gold.
U can transmute ore or gold then multiplying Thur companion near entrance in whitetun let's say 10 ingots or ores can make 400/800 in under mins and make any items u want then have gems multiplying too bingo enchanting away 400/800 of em together.
It of course helps to have the right Standing Stone active for whatever you're leveling, and I know sleeping to get Well Rested was covered, but something a lot of people forget about is Lover's Comfort. If you get married, sleeping in a bed with your spouse present gives you an additional +15% to skill gain, but if you don't want to get married you can wait until after you have the Aetherial Crown and use that to add the Lover Stone power on top of say the Mage Stone. I'm pretty sure you can't stack two Lover Stone powers by getting married AND using the crown though. Not 100% but I seem to recall trying and it not working.
