The audio log you hear in the beginning is actually of Ellen Ripley, Amanda's mother. She expected to be picked up by someone in approx 4 weeks but she was stranded in space for like 50 years.... Amanda Ripley, game's protagonist was a child when her mother went missing and this game is set when she's like 21 or something and looking for her mother and find out just what the hell happened on the Nostromo
Its also the main actress off the alien movies Sigourney Weaver. Love that they used the same actress. Adds so much to the game

Sigourney has had an incredible career but her first role of Ripley will.always be her most defining. Incredible irl and every bit the lady you would imagine her to be

Yep. Ellen left on the Nostromo in 2122 and promised her daughter Amanda that she would be back in time for he 11th birthday.... but we all know how that one went! Fast forward 15 years and Amanda goes looking for her..... cue Alien Isolation.
I love how he gets scared then goes right back to being emotionless something about it is so entertaining

I dont think all of it is fake, but a lot absolutely are.
So for context, you are playing as Ripley's daughter, Amanda, the former being the main protagonist of the Alien films. I highly recommend watching the first and second film, not only 'cause they're awesome but you also see how Ripley and Amanda end up where they get to in their stories

Dude I'm so glad you posted this. I'm shocked to think there are still people who havent seen the incredible Alien and Aliens. Posting exactly what I was already thinking of posting gives that essential context and just makes the game even better rather than some random taking on a Xenomorph.
Meeting most of the cast of both films was one of my favourite memories.

They actually brought back most of the original cast for audio logs. Only 2 they were unable to get were john hurt and ian holm.

Alien Isolation is definetely one of the best survival horror games, especially when u get the motion tracker, everything just starts to get intense and horrifying. It's also a well-made game for Alien fans. Let's keep this, AC Unity and Far Cry4 going man, u are absolutely one of my fav youtubers.
I totally agree. Alien Isolation was the first game we played on our first Playstation - and it absolutely blew us away. Since then we've been looking for a similar experience, but no game has come close to that level of excitement and atmosphere.

I watched the entire Alien's franchise before delving into the game and as soon as I heard the thump thump and hsss of the alien I froze with fear in my tracks and have been unable to pick up where I Left off in the medical ward, You is truly brave Hollow!

Please do the full playthrough, Amanda's story is so fitting to the canon of Alien. It's such a love letter to the original movies (plus points if you rewatch the first and second movie)

Btw the Woman who speaks at the beginning of the game is the protagonist of the first Alien Movie trilogy. She’s talking about what happened in the first movie, everyone on her ship was dead, she made it out but was lost in the space and waited for someone to rescue her. This game takes place after she was lost, her daughter, the protagonist of the game, is trying to find her. I really hope u can watch the Alien movies in your free time, they have really good space horror elements.

You don’t understand how fast I clicked on this video I love you so much hollow!!! And I love alien, been watching it since I was very young. I had cancer when I was 3 and grew up watching horror movies and stuff in he hospital (it’s what I enjoyed) and the Aliens and predator series and AVP was something I absolutely fell in love with and I have loved it ever since. Everything about this franchise has a big part of my life and I will watch every single episode of this series!!!

Dude you’re in for a trip; this game has one of the smartest A.I in gaming hands down!
The AI is so great. The Xenomorph of Alien: Isolation has about 100 different actions it can execute at any time in something called a behaviour tree. At the start of the game most of those actions are locked, meaning the Xenomorph won't perform them. What that does is create the illusion that the Xenomorph is learning as you progress through the game. As you, learn new ways of avoiding danger, so does the Xenomorph learn new ways to create it. That's an amazing way to keep you on your toes the whole time. Furthermore, it ensures that you can't use the same strategy over and over for the duration of the game. Thats why it’s the best AI in gaming to date.

Alien's Isolation story happens between Alien (1st movie) and Aliens(2nd movie), you're playing as Ellen Ripley's(from the movies) daughter, Amanda.
The beggining of the game was Ellen Ripley's(Sigourney Weaver) audio log, from the first movie, after Ellen escapes the alien and destroys the ship Nostromo.

Damn, lighting in games is everything, you can see that some of the textures and effects don't look too god, but the atmosphere and lighting makes the game look really good.
This game was awesome .the scanner that tracks the alien gets your heart pounding the game really feels connected to the original film
I completed this game maybe 2 weeks ago... it was an experience. I'm not usually into horror games but this was incredible, It was stressful, exciting, terrifying, rewarding. Somethings felt repetitive .. but all in all I'm so glad I did this game. The graphics are amazing the atmosphere. It is one of the top games I have ever played without doubt.
The speech at the start of the game is the speech that Ellen Ripley said at the end of the first Alien movie in 1979. You're playing as Amanda Ripley, Ellen's daughter. This point in the story, Ellen has been drifting in space for years and is not found until the second movie, Aliens 1986, around 50 years after the events of Alien 1979. This game is set in-between Alien and Aliens as Amanda is looking for her mother. You really should watch the movies, they are the best movies ever made imo. Have fun with the game!
