    "M(e)an-ly" Jay directed me to Orthodoxy...and I (being a katechumen) found the church full of young and not so young men. Now I have to convince my two adult 'boys' to join my church....Ameen!

    I'm not a man, but I am orthodox, and I usually stop to listen to Jay. As a mother of 3 boys, I thoroughly appreciate people like you who help young men live up to their potential. My boys are not orthodox, although one does voluntarily attend vespers (he works Sundays) with me occasionally. I pray that all my boys come to know God and join the true church. And maybe even join a group such as yours. ❤

      Your boy should not be working on Sunday, he should be committed to his Faith enough to not surrender the Lord's Day to the world, the flesh and the Devil.... period end of conversation.

      @josephk4310 Yes, well, we all know what others should do. We also know that we can not force other adults, even your kids , to do those things. He is still searching, but he is diligent in his search, and I am sure that he will find his way. (I did say occasionally) A person who does not fully understand Christianity, especially orthodoxy, will not lose his income to go to church. We've all been in a place of searching, and we all found our way. I have faith he will as well. But he is just like me, Rebellious, so I know pushing him towards something he's not sure about will only push him further away. I have been a Christian only for a few years, but it wasn't until i found the Orthodox Church that any of my kids showed interest. (Again, all adults) I lead by example, and because of that, it sparked in him a willingness to search. But you go ahead and judge from a comment on YT and assume you know the situation. I'll pray for you. ☦️

      @@jlynn5680 Honoring the Lord's Day is very important. Stand back take a look at the issue from God's perspective. It is about ☦️ boundaries. Lines of demarcation. It is Spiritual Warfare. Have you even told him it is wrong to work on Sunday ? If he was a Fireman or Policeman it would be another matter. Fire and police personnel, that I know say that working on Sunday does make them feel estranged from God. They don't like it, but it is in their case a matter of duty. Don't be too wishy washy and soft, look at what has happened to the USA 🇺🇲, because of soft, wishy washy attitudes. It has utterly destroyed National Unity... Societal Cohesiveness etc. Our grandparents didn't have this problem, there were clear boundaries.

      @josephk4310 You know that you can not force anyone to come to Christ. Nor does He want anyone to be forced. It's why he gave us free will and the ability to choose! But again, thanks for assuming. They ask questions, and I tell them. My son knows very well the importance of attending liturgy is for me, and he knows my beliefs, considering the fact that I quit my second job in order to devote more of my time to God and Church. Again, HE IS AN ADULT! He's asking questions, and all I can do is be there to lead, not force him.

      However birth rates remain low for many reasons: the primary being that many women in this country do not tolerate Orthodoxy and will not take a conservative, intellectually-inferior man.

      I would recommend reading Nihilism by Fr Seraphim Rose, who will give an alternative view on Nietzsche and his views. Nietzsche was the "prophet" of modern nihilism and relativism and there is very little masculine about it.

      @@ManiphestoMen Thanks for the suggestion, I will have a look at the book.
      Have you read Nietzsche? His ideas may not be Christian. But they certainly have a masculine quality to them. The notion of saying yes to life, for instance, is part of his solution to nihilism. To say there is very little masculine about it is incorrect in my estimation.

      @@grahampardunOf course, we agree that N was not trying to advocate nihilism. The only relevant issue to decide is, was N right that God does not exist. If that is the case, then his philosophy would work extremely well. One thing you could consider is look at how the life and the death of those two men went. That will tell you something of how they lived their own philosophy, as they were both very honest and authentic men.

      A woman aggressively fighting for her baby is masculine. Your turn.
      Before we move forward, you should know there is no definitive metric for feminine and masculine. We only know how our biology is made up and how our make up reacts to chemicals in the body. Any person can behave one way or the other but one will be more efficient than the other.

    • @SINQUEFIELD83
      @SINQUEFIELD83 Місяць тому +2

      @KissSlowlyLoveDeeply-pm2je And I disagree. You are correlating being passive with being feminine because women are passive by nature. Just because a woman is passive by nature doesn't make the action of being passive feminine. Both sexes are capable of being passive, and both can be aggressive. This would be like saying UFC fighters are animalistic and primitive by nature because they fight and are very aggressive. Being aggressive is not an exclusive trait to animals, so it would be a silly claim. If a man goes against his nature, it can be considered logical rather than being a passive, especially if their is a goal in mind.
      For example...Millions of soldiers submitting and taking orders from another another man is passive, but it is not feminine.
      With that being said, I do agree that feminism has corrupted the modern-day church and have been decieved to believe "being nice" and avoiding confrontation equates to love.
      But in regards to being "feminine," it definitely exists in all of Western culture, but it is definitely more prevalent in the secular world. I think we would both agree that a man wearing a dress and thinking he can get pregnant is pretty feminine.
