Thanks for the comment.
The more people that stay away from terrible backpacker bikes the better!
DO NOT RENT A BIKE IN VIETNAM!
I traveled to Vietnam in 2016 and went from Hanoi to ha long bay to Saigon on a Honda win I bought off a backpacker at a hostel for $300 and sold to a backpacker for $300 in Saigon.
If you rent your basically tied down to returning it, if you buy a used bike at market rate it will not lose any value in the next couple weeks of you riding it.
Sure I had break downs and so will you but that’s all part of the Vietnam backpacking adventure. I broke down 3 times and got it fixed for less than $10 each time.
Having a breakdown with a couple hour layover wherever that may happen didn’t kill my vibe at all. Take it to a mechanic and they will fix it for you for cheap. It’s part of the deal when you sign up to motorbike a whole country on a used bike that is cheaper than new tires on your car in America
One mans experience is not that of a company that sees thousands of backpackers travel the country by motorbike each year. Very happy that you had a success story on a cheap motorbike, but know that you are in the minority, not the majority.
Again very informative, thanks
Thanks again.
Appreciate the feedback!
Everyone should see this video before setting of on a motorcycle trip in Vietnam. Great advice.
Thanks. Love the content on your channel.
Having some fun!
Really nice introduction bro
Thank you
Pity you don't show the Honda Master 125. I'm very happy with mine and for someone European sized it's a very comfortable bike to ride.
Honda Master is certainly a potential bike to use.
The reason I have shied away from them for backpacking purposes is they have metal gas tanks and generally expensive exteriors. Being import (like the XR) they are difficult to get parts for.
Travelling can be rough, and from our standpoint the damage a backpacker causes to the metal exterior is not worth the maintenance costs. You will notice all the bikes here are mostly plastic (apart from the win).
For living here and owning a motorbike for travelling then the master is a good choice!
For a rental company they are not appropriate for the damage they will take.
Thanks for the comment!
I understand your reasoning. A pity though, in all other respects it's the best bike for the trip. It's comfortable, and it rides like a motorcycle, not like a scooter😁
is an international license needed to buy/rent from you guys?
no it is not.
How can you tell if you are being sold a Chinese bike?
Hy.. iam from Jakarta Indonesia,im colection bike Kawasaki series 150cc-1000cc,bike a fast n strong to engine is Kawasaki ninja 150rr two stroke.. i like
Hi there, how much would a used Yamaha Nouvo cost in HCMC? Wanted to do a bike tour soon in Vietnam. Many thanks
Don't buy a Nouvo.
can you have a luggage rack installed like the one on the blade on any blade you are selling? before i buy
thanks

Come with the bike.
any idea of what it would cost to ship one back to the states ?
so difficult that I would just say "not possible"
What about old Belarussian 2-stroke Minsks 125?
Does not really exist anymore. They all got destroyed or purchased by the Hanoi Tour companies. They renovate them with modern Honda engines and run luxury indochina tours off them.
chinese bikes alright but expect a rebuild, their bearings and gear teeths are bad
The cheapest manual bike that is indeed work well is Suzuki Axelo
Too bad it's underpowered, small and ugly
Not sure Suzuki do them anymore. Anyway the Honda XR 150 has found its place in Vietnams line up. Most people just use that.
The bike is discontinued, but not too hard to find a good bike that about the same price as a Honda Wave bike
I own one and it does get the job done for a very basic manual bike
Also I really want to own XR150 for general purpose riding, such a shame that I'm still a college student and I don't have a job yet
i have a exciter 150, it's a good motorcycle 😂
Lots of fun!
thats the one i would have. love the yamaha blue
Yamaha exciter= thief magnet.
