It's Never Too Late to Learn Fiddle! Lisa began lessons in February of 2023.
March: Scottish Traditional. "The Hens March O'er the Midden" was written a couple of hundred years ago. Special bowing imitates cackling chickens. What is a Midden? It is a type of compost / manure pile on a farm. Chickens would scratch about the midden looking for bugs, worms, etc. to eat. In the B part of the march, an excited hen squawks as she marches about the midden seeking supper. In Lisa's arrangement, some of the hen's dinner finds are more exciting than others (according to intensity/effect of the hen's cackles).
Strathspey: Scottish Traditional. "Loudon's Bonnie Woods & Braes". There is an associated poem by Robert Tannahill (1774-1810).
Reel: Scottish Traditional. "Jenny Dang the Weaver."
