Being a fan of Chad since I first listened him in RHCP's mothers milk. I think he has a perfect mix of technic, power and musicianship. Love his style.
He used one or two HHX's on his Live Federation Square performance in 2007. Back in the days (pre '92) he used Paistes I think. He also jammed on some new Sabian products with a bassist whose name I forgot. It's on their UA-cam channel, they have about 3 parts I think.
He came out an eighth note off. The band covers well and these things happen. I don't mean to take away from the many good things that happened in the performance. I only point it out because the poster said Chad was "not missing a beat." I think it's good to remember that even the pros have moments, we just get better at covering our mistakes!

I also play the drums , I'm not as good as I'd like , but I do not like it if someone called down to another game that talent or similar. I saw earlier one video where somebody yelled Will Ferrell. Chad got pissed and walked off stage. But then I also saw another video where they are both having a drum off, so to speak. While Chads nearly 50 years of playing professionally clearly was FTW. Will Ferrell was actually quite good himself. Chads precision honed over years of touring was the showstopper. I dont think Chad was actually mad at all. Why would he be. Whenever one of them has their name mentioned so does the other. What are the chances of that. Your doppelganger is one of the best comedic talents of the generation and he also plays drums pretty good in his own right. Truth maybe be told, they are likely close friends
DRUMCHANNEL Please for the love of god re post the Thomas lang Gergo Borlai video you deleted from your page about a year ago. I think it was about an hour long and was Lang and Borlai soloing together. It was awesome and should be shared with the world.
Apparently you can't apply RHCP drumming style to any kind of music. Fusion music IMHO requires more creativity from a drummer. And flexibilty as well.

he doesnt play very complicated beats, he just plays what is needed and is so perfectly in time, which is the main thing! he is incredible.
