      I like Tyler Perry, always have. Madea is a funny character and has earned Tyler very promising success. People either love him or hate him, but I think we all, especially the black community, should respect his success. 22 movies, 20 stage plays, 8 tv shows and written 2 books all accomplished in 20 years. Possibly the most successful black filmmaker of all time.

    I love Tyler Perry, always have. There are people who hate him, people who love him, but I think we all should respect his hustle. He went from living in his car to earning 600 million dollars in 20 years. Writing, directing and producing 22 movies, 20 stage plays, 8 tv shows and written 2 books. And he built his own studio. Possibly the most successful black filmmaker of all time

      Its trip how some people be hatin on tyler perrys MADEA character, saying its a stereotype or she does the same thing every movie . but no.when you think about it madea is actually oringinal theres not many out there that i know that act like her . and as far as she does the same thing every movie goes. well when you think about it thats the characteristic of her so shes going to be who she is everytime. just like a real person . Madea has a positive side to her aswell ,she always has a good message for the viewer and also funny. so anybody hatin on that is lame. and they dont have to watch it.

    It might be of some interest to note that "Madea" was a character in a 1972 movie called "Black Girls." She was a grandmother and the voice of reason in a very dysfunctional black family of all women. She was the straight shooting truth teller who asserted her authority as the matriarch of the family. There was also a male character who vaguely resembled the "Madea" male counterpart in Tyler's movies.

    Ok, Spike Lee obviously only saw Madea clips. In all of Tyler Perry's movies (except for the Halloween one 😂) the story revolved around a character struggling in more ways than 1, and their story of changing and becoming better people

    • @kdesigner07
      @kdesigner07 6 років тому +5

      Right. And Spike Lee is one to talk. Most of his movies are somewhat of a Rubik's cube. The message is all over the place and you get lost, characters don't make sense, and the movie has a weird aesthetic to it. Movies like Bamboozled and Chiraq were weird to say the least and if you watch in at any point other than the beginning, you wouldn't know what it was about and feel lost. At least Tyler Perry didn't glorify the N-word in his movies. If anything, he never used it.

Well, Fanny had not only raised us until her death, but my uncles and aunt also. And wjen she passed, it was like lpsing my black mama. Th' years went along, and we were lucky enough to hire Alice. Apparently, as about a 15-16 year old, i remember Somebody who was inhabiting my body at th' tome sayin' that I'd just climb out my window.... Well, Alice informed that that's alright honeychild, you go right on ahead and I'll just be outside waitin' on you....... I Love Madea. It brings Alice right back to me......

    I love Tyler Perry and I appreciate the humor of his characters especially Medea and the fact that his plays and movies always have a message. I loved that he said Spike can basically kick rocks with his comments because Spike has not always cast black people in the most positive light in his movies either and I get it because life's events aren't always positive so as a African American writer producer and actor I feel Spike should be able to a least make an effort to understand that the characters Tyler writes about come from his and other's that around him life experiences, because although it sad these thing actually happen in the black community as well as others. Basically I say all this just to say someone finally pulled the carpet back and swept out the dirt that was being hidden and they did it through laughter, tears but also with a message and regardless to what Spike thinks it's a story line and message someone needed to see and hear.

    Not a fan of the Madea movies but I’ll admit, he played a fine older woman! He reminded me ( when dressed as Madea) of that old show Mama’s family where Vicki Lawrence played an old woman. Wasn’t fond of that show either, but the 2 were somewhat similar when dressed as older ladies

    Tyler Perry’s latest movie with Taraji was sooooooo bad ! I don’t even know how the hell he had the balls to released that piece of crap. People walked out & I know kids in film school; scratch that I know kids with an iPhone who could have made a better movie than that. Then he’s gotta bring poor TPH into it; which I don’t know why she even allowed herself to be in it. I mean if he paid her a couple mil then that’s the only reason I can think of. If someone paid me millions then I’d be in a shitty movie too, but my god Tyler get it together.

I don’t know if that’s the case seeing as how if it was, then they would have something in common with the story/ theme & therefore be intrigued to see what would happen to them, so theoretically there’s s big possibility that’s not the reason why. 🎥 🍿🎞📽📼🔮🕯😏😏🧐🧐🧐

    Mr. Spike Lee Needs to mine his business and not other movie stars like Tyler Perry's shows ... That's called Jealousy and a hypocrite , I'm Hispanic and all my family and friends enjoy Tyler Perry's movies all the time and we feel happy and content with the stories he has put together....

    3:36-3:39-You mean to tell me that he stood behind Tarji P Henson about being paid her worth amount Hollywood but when it came to Monique he acted as if she was crazy for wanting to be paid her worth?! WTF is up with that? BTW-I'm a huge Tarji P Henson fan!! But the two facedness is getting to me....Tyler is something else!

    When it came to the end and how he was betraying the black community I didn't see it as outrageous I saw it as a Women a Black women doing what she has to do and giving zero fucks about anyone. Madea opened the doors to many and she gave great advice in many of these movies how you deserve more and you can do better. She made me laugh so many times but she also tight me as a women along with the other characters to be strong to forgive many and get them before I get got.
