*This Movie was the best I've Ever Seen, it Certainly Deserved a 10/10* *I am definitely not Reading a Script provided by Sony with a gun to my Crotch*
Interestingly enough, the main climax of the film, the deleting, has no tension to it because emojis in the messenger apps don't get deleted in the process of a reset. Since they're integrated into a vital part of the phone, they can't risk something going wrong, so the emojis didn't actually have anything to worry about.
18:02 In a film that contains lines such as, -"Attention spans get shorter and shorter and you're probably not even listening to me, right now." -"...and that's what matters in this life, popularity." And lamenting that "emojis are the greatest communication method", "words aren't cool" and all of Poop's "crap-puns". This is the worst line out of the entire movie.
9:22 wait did the movie just say the eggplant was unpopular? Well... I've been to 4chan, instagram and reddit before, and I can say with certainty that it isn't
Im sure its not popular with kids Im like 90% sure that kids wont use the eggplant due to hate of vegetables and not knowing the other reason for said emoji
It gets worse: they originally offered that role to Jordan Peele. He said he felt so personally insulted he decided to focus on his directing career exclusively.
I had to see this movie with my Mom and my Sister. I did not want to go because I knew it was going to be shit. I had to go anyway and my favorite part was the fact that I got to eat good popcorn and drink coca-cola. Then halfway through I took a nice nap.
I didn't even pay to view it. I waited til it was on DVD and got it at my local library. Only watched it to see just how bad it was, knowing full well it was shit and MAN am I glad I didn't pay for it at all
it's nice to find another person that enjoys the art of sleeping in the middle of a shitty product, i slept during Star Wars 8 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles PS: i never saw any trailers or promotional images for the TMNT, so it was kind of a surprise to see that shit
The groans of agony when you finish one side of a math test. Then you realize that there is another side and you have 5 minutes left to complete the test
Something interesting is, it's been studied and found that, technically, The Emoji Movie is illegal. There's large amounts of stuff featured in it that the movie DID NOT have the rights to have in it
The delivery of the monkey on the "Monkey business" joke, I actually thought was kinda funny. And then they brutally murdered the joke with Meh's reaction
Personally, I love "Order of the Phoenix" too, my favourite Harry Potter book and one of my favourite movies, just because Dolores Umbridge was really twisted. After "Goblet of Fire" it was Harry's first real step to take responsibility and step up against an unfair system. I know he took responsibilty from the first movie (and much too early for my taste: my cousin is 11 too and he couldn't do the stuff, Harry did in his first year) but this movie, the government turned against him for the first time and not only the other students or his friends. They all lined up behind him to fight for Harry and Dumbledore.
Some of my sister's classmates went to see the film and they laughed their asses off. The reason why is because they were all high. And what's more one of them was their ride and ended up watching it without being high. He told everyone that he would rather have had cancer.
Technically, this is the second movie he reviewed that wasn't nostalgic or based on a nostalgic property. When he reviewed The Room it wasn't nostalgic enough yet, so he had to cheat by going to the future.
This is the first animated movie to win a Worst Picture Razzie Award. It’s also the recipient of Worst Director (Tony Leondis), Worst Screenplay (Tony Leondis, Eric Siegel and Mike White) and Worst Screen Combo (Any two obnoxious emojis)
Aww, I really wanted to hear what Nate was gonna say about improving Harry Potter because those last four (OotP to DH Part 2) were very up and down to me!
Ooh, getting a lot of Nostalgia Critic lately. I hope that means the Fox Kids reaction is coming up soon. Though, where has Micah been? Is he on vacation? Sick?
Doctor Del You are correct I asked about that during one of their streams and Nate and Ben said that he was wanting to take a break because he was suffering from burnout
I saw the movie and nearly swore off telling jokes, until I remembered the Muppets. At least the animation was good. 18:09 Best reaction in the whole film! For the next Nostalgia Critic review, I dare you to enure the Woody Woodpecker movie or Angry Birds, and maybe have Micah join you.
That moment went you realized they were ganna make a Popeye movie but do to some complications emoji movie was made...I would have preferred POPEYE A thousand times over this.
"You know, women are always coming up with stuff that men are taking credit for." I heard that line as me and my brother were watching on a bus TV, so I turned to my brother and said: "Men don't always take stuff credit for stuff that women think of." That just proves how fucked up that feminist line is.
The thing is, I do kind of agree with Doug's final verdict on this film. I still feel like Norm of the North was way worse than this. At least The Emoji Movie had a few decent jokes, passable animation and, like, one or two characters I actually cared about. Whenever I hear people call this one worse than Norm of the North, I often feel like it's because it came out after that film and it was made to promote a product, both of which made it an easier target. (And the way people keep blaming this film for the Popeye movie being delayed really gets me, especially since prior to those claims, Animat made an entire video talking about how Genndy Tartakovsky was responsible for that and how he decided to hand Popeye over to another director so he could work on Hotel Transylvania 3)
So when Nate took his nephews to watch the emoji movie and then after an hour of watching the emoji movie one of Nate’s nephews wants to leave and I’ll say probably of how bad the movie goes and looks like Nate’s nephews didn’t like it at all (is that what happened?)
The worst part about this movie isn't in the movie itself, it's the fact that it didn't flop and Sony is thinking about making a sequel considering this movie made more than it's production budget and had a decent foreign box office return.
I remember my reaction was that it was a Nothing movie that didn’t make me feel much about it, but now, I actively hate this movie because it tried so desperately and shamelessly to do nothing but ride the coattails of way better movies by just doing the same damn things they did with little to no effort.
6:41 Hourglass: My god this is heavy, Clock can you give me a hand? Clock: *Gives Hourglass his clock hands Hourglass: No, the other hands, you hockey puck! *falls down dropping a furniture*

So what's the deal with all the vitriol? The most I can gather about it is because it's about a gen-Z kid with his smartphone and answers in the positive.
