"Mike… he is graduate, had a master’s degree in city planning, and they happened to overhear me one day and we’re talking and he said that what they were doing was illegal and that I should go get an attorney and then he recommended this guy named Dietze out of Boulder. So I called this Dietze guy up for an appointment to do down and see him about whether or not I had a case against these people to stop this damn concrete plant. So I went down there and met with this Dietze, can’t even remember his name right now, this guy is a cowardly thief, he is man of the system, I mean he milked me like I’ve never been milked before. He’s corrupt". (tape 2 side B)
Tape 3, side A So this is tape three, it’s about 10:05 on the 14th of April 2004. I want to say that I believe that I am an American patriot, I believe in the free-enterprise system, I believe in a level playing field of competition. If you want to change that level playing field of competition to your advantage, basically you give me license to do that also when my opportunity comes around because you’re the leaders of the community and you set the example and you do the teaching and you - through example, through your action - you show the community how things are supposed to be done. I am one of the greatest followers you would ever meet because I know you cannot be a good leader unless you are a good follower. I’ve followed all the parameters that I am supposed to have followed to get that property. You on the other hand - the town of Granby, the people of Granby, the leaders of Granby - have not. You have conspired against me and that in doing so - and I understand it’s a conspiracy, we can’t prove anything, and the way you change your minutes and all your meetings, I understand that, it can’t be proven, I’m not that diligent to catch every problem and attack everything that you do, there’s too many of you, it’s too big of a task
tape 3, side B All right, had to flip the tape over. When you start screwing somebody who’s trying to do something good in that neighborhood, in that community, but it’s against your wishes and your will, maybe what happens here this year of 2004, the summer of 2004, maybe you’ll remember that. Back in the early 1900s or late 1800s, there were four people died up here in Grand Lake over the, where the county courthouse should be - here in Grand Lake or Hot Sulphur Springs. I don’t know how many years people remembered that incident but they still talk about it today. What the purpose of all those people dying were, I really don’t know. But it seems like this has to happen again and again and again in human nature that we kill each other, so that the next generation looks at things differently. Where they will open their mind and be open to other people’s ideas. It’s a cycle
