If you are wondering what paper to use with rotring isographs make sure you use extra smooth paper such as extra smooth bristol paper. Some examples would be borden and riley paper of paris for pens, strathmore extra smooth bristol paper, canson extra smooth bristol paper or any type of paper that is dedicated for ink pens and is also extra smooth. You can also use these pens in moleskin cahier sketchbooks (the plain smooth ones)
I will be placing links to all of these papers below, ill also be making a video on this topic.

@@rjamesmontejo Any sort of paper that is very smooth such as bristol smooth, extra smooth cardstock, paper for ink pens, moleskine sketchbook, or any paper for technical pens will work. Many thanks for this video. You've probably saved the lives of three brand new Isographs. Some very dear friends of mine have just offered me a Rotring set. The brand name has been this legend in my conscience ever since my teen drawing days, I knew they were technical pro pens and sort of always deemed my raw technique-deprived drawing skills too unworthy for them . My friends thought otherwise.
Yet, tonight, I held the Legend in my hand .... and was completely daunted! Good thing I felt those pens were definitely something else, new territory and new beasts I hardly knew anything about, except that it should be treaded with caution, and they be approached with respect of their particular ways.
Now, thanks to your informed advice, I might come to get bold, and safely explore new drawing paths in the inky Way of my three Legendary little beasts.
    A million thanks, again.

I usually draw with the 005 micron fineliner pens. Does that match with the .01 pen? I love my micron pens, but I want a fineliner with white ink, because all my white gelpen are drying out and just like a ballpoint pen my gelpens aren’t that smooth, and much thicker than my 005 microns. Do you think buying a .01 isograph with white ink is a good solution? I do a lot of stippling and small detail drawings.

It should be very similar. I notice all the isographs under 0.35 are similar in widths more so. between 0.25 and 0.35 is a large increase but between 0.18 and 0.25 is very similar in line width.

Well, I've brought some REALLY stuck, clogged pens dirt cheap and spent the time cleaning them - like, a $70 set for less than $20. If you're used to working with really small tolerances, cleaning them is NOT that awful. Get one of the rubber squirty bulb cleaners. Just... don't... screw them up. Those disposable Pigmas work GREAT, but the cost adds up quick. And the really big bugbear about ink is aniline dye vs pigment, suspended particles, and some inks actually have like a varnish in them. The aniline dye you use for in fountain pens and easter eggs just WON'T get as dark as, like a carbon-black ink that has actual charcoal in it. I avoid all varnish stuff, but you can get a big ol' jug of carbon-black ink real cheap =MAINTAIN YOUR EQUIPMENT. Just, DOOOOO.
