      That would be nice.
That's what I like about PBS Newshour.
Interviewers and the people they interview are given enough time to have a complete thoughtful discussion about a topic.
In this case I'm guessing that a director or producer keeps whispering into the host's ear
saying "Speed it up. Speed it up" because they have limited time and a number of other important news segments to cover.
Have heard that if one were to type out onto paper all the words in a half hour newscast
it would be a very small amount of words compared to that in a newspaper -
possibly wouldn't even cover one page of the newspaper.
And yet somehow that one page of content in a TV newscast is supposed to cover
all the day's events just like the 40 pages in a newspaper.

Yes, it's NATO, the US, Britain, Germany, the EU's fault. They've been making it increasingly dangerous for Russia to exist, even though it's the largest nation on earth, with more nukes, more gold, more oil, more gas, more diamond than any other nation or people and with those 6,000 nukes, it should be as safe as any nature should have been able to feel...
But, apparently, all those things were not enough to make Putin or the Russians safe or content....
They had to have 15% of Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuana, Poland, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, etc., too and THEN may be a little more, too, since 10K to 15,000 more square kilometers likely won't make 11-time zone Russia feel any safer than before...because now Finland and Sweden would be NATO, with Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia applying to join it, too...and THAT would be too many dangerous, aggressive NATO nations bordering peace loving Mother Russia!

And I guess that's why he is (or was) a general. I suspect that in his day he was what we brits could call "necky" ie. Not afraid to offer up his head or neck for something he believed. He also did well to speak over the presenter when they were diving for the usual nuclear sensationalist question.

I'd like to believe this but I genuinely don't. I think Petraeus is definitely a stand-out character . A lot of people fail upwards in the military and all walks of life. Others become recognised for various achievements etc but many more simply play the game. I get the feeling that Patraeus got promoted off the back of his attitude and his understanding of nuance. That is a rare breed.

GENERALS always tell the enemy what they are going to do and only do that, no chance of miscalculation? The Russians won't get edgy with F35, F22, B2 and NGAD aircraft flying close to them given how badly Russian Airdefence is? more support to ukraine tanks, armored fighting vehicles, aircrafts artillery etc as the momentum and tide of the battle is in Ukraine's favor in order for them to liberate occupied territories and may eventually end the war

How will it end the war? Russia will strike back at Ukraine with whatever they have got. It will only escalate the war.

36 Americans are being held in such horrific conditions in Washington DC jails that they have requested a transfer to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba! They have been held without trial for a year and a half under horrific conditions: no medical care, kept in isolation for months at a time; guards have been allowed and encouraged to harass them for their political and religious beliefs; guards are allowed to beat these American citizens; they have been purposely kept in appalling unsanitary conditions. Any American who criticizes Russia but accepts this treatment of our own people is either willfully ignorant or a bigot.

And that is why Russia now has control of almost 20% of Ukraine. Did anyone happen to know what defense industry he works for?

David forgets how the nuclear bomb changed the tides against Japan in WW2. Putin should give same speech that Truman gave to drop the Atomic bomb on Japan! Americans and the West would HAVE to accept it.

    • @184Kitkat
      @184Kitkat Рік тому

Changed the tides? Dude you need to read up on your history. The US was at the brink of Invading Honshu, but decided it would cost too many US soldiers and Japanese civillians' lives. The Japanese weren't ready to negotiate at all, but were literally planning on sacrificing millions of civillians.
The Ukraine situation is very different, but ye I get you are desperately trying to find arguments for legitimizing Russia using nukes.
Just get the rock out of Ukraine, includinh crimea, pay your reparations and there will be no need for nukes.

I adore President Zelensky, his family, and the people of 🇺🇦 Ukraine!!! What a group of badasses!!! Seeing a 78 year-old woman say teach me how to shoot a gun because I'm not leaving my country without a fight....so inspiring. The woman was born during WWII and her courage is matchless!!! God bless you Ukraine for showing the world their way of life and sovereignty is worth risking everything.
