Immersive Railroading - Urban railroading

- I felt an urge to build a standard gauge railway a while back, and the choise of railway became Immersive Railroading. On this map I have focused more on the rails arround the urban landscape, with industrial spurs and shunting as the main focus. The rails have however been extended to outside the city areas.
Light bugs are not possible to avoid using shaders and this mod, so you have to ignore those.

Imagine a city with all immersive mods, full survival, with 100+ active players, and almost no plugins, cars, trains, players shops, pump jacks industries cities, eras, etc.
I imagine all the lag we would experience. But the idea is nice atleast
@@christeroester5056 The lag is what kills everything, if the computer instead of rendering every single movement of every model per second thats in the horizon, it should just render it moving, or even teleporting, no full details, that would make it more efficient, but still, rip the server thats going to run that.
Imagine most your computers getting so hot they can fuse tungsten..
@@christeroester5056 Lag in IR has to do with people not doing proper triangulation nd mesh decimation of the models. High poly and tris = lag

Well, thanks. But the patience comes and goes. Some times I have the patience to build much, other times it goes away. But that is the thing with a hobby, you only does it when you find it entertaining. At those moments where it is not, you should stop building. If not you will only get tired of your project, and never finish it.

Yes, you can add some aditional packs that people have made. There is a bit different stuff to choose from, with different kind of quality. You can find some stuff on the mods discord channel.

hello when i got this map it removed my immersive railroading trains, tracks, and resource packs and i have no idea why. Is there a way to fix that?

They are from Lachie1770's pack, you can find it on the mods discord channel. It contains the canadian skins, but the weathering is done by me, so it will look different when you use them for your self.

I can not remember at the moment, I do not have it installed anymore. But I think it might have been BoCo's pack.
What mods and resource packs do I need? And will there be a nyc j3a Dreyfus Hudson No.5445 in one of the resource pack? It’s my favourite engine.
You do not need anything else than IR. No stock is placed upon loading, so you do not need any resource packs either. There have been a few wires from Immersive Engeneering placed, so it is adviced to have it installed. But the map is fine without it aswell.

Yes, the file is quite large. But in return, you should have a place where you can spend several hours riding trains and enjoying the scenery. Have a nice ride

How long did this take you to build??
Hard to say, I have been building on this map on and off for some months, but much of the buildings are copied and reused from earlier projects, some several years old. But it does take some time, projects like this never gets finished

Yes, it was made using command blocks and a redstone repeater using hoppers.
Christer Oester yea it looked really cool and I wanted to see if I could do it as a challenge because i am good with redstone but not command blocks

Hey Christer what mods did you use on the map? B/c I can’t play without the mods and also the texture packs
The map only uses Immersive Railroading.
You only need IR to use the map, but I recomend to install Immersive Engeneering aswell, as I have used some stuff from there for decoration. But it works fine without it aswell. You do not need any texture pack or resource pack, choose what you want for your self. If you get a message that you lack more mods, ignore it. They have not been used.
Hey may I ask which mods are also requiered besides Immersive Railroading and Immersive Enginnering?
No mods other then IR is required. You are recomended to also have IE installed, but it is not needed for the map to function. The only stuff used from IE is a few decorative wires some places. Other then those the map is only vanilla and IR.
@@christeroester5056 every time I open the map I can live around for a bit and then my game crashed, is it just my Laptop or is the map having problem?
@@kream_8127 I would belive that it is your computer that does not handle the map very well. It is quite big, and there is a lot that needs to be loaded in. I did have some problems like that long back, where the game crashed as it tried to load the world, and map it out on Journey Maps. If you have that mod installed, you could try to remove it, and see if it helps. If not, then your computer might not be powerful enough

I would assume that it should be somewhat simple to find by google "Immersive railroading", or maybee "immersive railroading discord". I do not have a link to provide, but it did not take me long to find it. It is still up and running.

Immersive railroading for the tracks, and a litle bit from Immersive Engineering for some decoration. But the last one is not required. Rest is vanilla
How do you get world edit/wand?
The mod is best found by googeling it. "Minecraft World Edit". You will find the download for the mod, and instructions for how to use it that way
Could someone please help me, how you get these trains to go uphill without immense speed.
Well, that can be a bit tricky at some times, but you should just plan ahead. When you know that there is a long hill comming, make sure you have enough speed. In the trench in the main city, I usually make sure i get to arround 60-70 km/h down the slope, and continue to have it on the flat part without giving more power, so the engine can cool down. When the climb up comes, I give full speed ahead, ant it will always make it up to the top before it overheats.
Climbing up from the harbour can be tricky, considering it is a long climb. If you have a long train, you should have atleast two locomotives up the hill. Either two running the whole train, or one helper locomotive untill you reach the top, then you can decouple and park it at the depot. Gain enough speed, and try to keep some momentum. You will have to cut the power a few times so you will not overheat, but it is possible. You can also drag it up as long as you manage, and then take a break to let the engine cool down again. It is also possible to go the long way arround, then you only need to climb up the first steep part, not the second one up to the depot and tunnel. So some speed is needed, a slow climb up does not seem to work well with a long train.
Christer Oester thanks I just had to plan at each station if I would have enough speed and momentum to get over the challenge of going up hill and it seemed to work really effectively! Thanks for your comment though
Breh I went from one end of the map to the other going 250 km/h at the slopes using the ER-200 I think that's what's it's callled
Is this for 1.16.4 and also the map didn’t download onto Minecraft did I do something wrong?
It works for 1.16, but it is made on 1.12. So I have been told that there are some problems, like the custom heads spawning as Steve heads instead, and that the teleporation between stations does not work. Other then that, there is no problem. When you download it, it does not go straight in to Minecraft. You have to put the downloaded file into the "saves" folder your self. Google how to install Minecraft maps, and I am sure you will find a video explaining it.

Why when I run the train at certain points the train slows down even though the train speed is more than 50?
That might be becouse I forgot to remove some of those automation modules. If there is a gray square on the track where you slow down, remove it with the wrench. If not, then I do not know what the problem might be

Is there a roundhouse and lots of tunnels?
There are two small roundhouses on the map. One of them have three stalls, the other have five. They are a bit small though. There are not lots of tunnels, as I try to avoid them. They are quite boring to ride through. But there are a few

How to make it? Well, by building it. But for you it is much simplier. You can just download it, and have it ready in a few minutes instead

It is made on 1.12. But the mod is available on 1.14 aswell, so the map works on that version to.

Not quite sure which models you refear to here, but none of the models showed in this video are ports from other games. I dislike people who steals models from other games, people or companies, and makes sure to not use any of them. All the models I use, and therefore are showed in my videos, are created by users of Immersive Railroading. They all have proof of their constructions
@@christeroester5056 The core IR mod is not what I am talking about here because Cam is the same and does not want certain things in his mod like trains with named railroads etc. That is why most of the core models in IR have vague liveries and no road names or numbers. He is covering his ass from possible copyright issues etc. However the resource pack creators do what they want. Just be aware that flips are out there.
