    Got the Boot Lace Terminal Connectors today at Jaycar Part number PT4516. Will use them on my 12 Pin Caravan Plug, but not on the Fridge Pair, they will be fitted to a Blue Anderson Plug. Thanks for the tip mate.

      Oh yes. Well done Kev. It’s just another tidy way of keeping all the wires together.

    Another great video. I'm sure many people would love to see how you wire before the inverter or after for 240v hot water and power GPO through inverter.
    Do the new regulations star you need double pole solar isolators rated to certain Amps or can you use an 4 pole DC32 AMP isolation switch? NOT MANY off grid builders show solar safety cut offs.

    Brilliant timing, I just dropped off a couple of batteries to a customer who also asked about Generator charging through the Victron system.
    I love seeing these systems using batteries the exact way they're designed to be used. The single battery hammering out power on demand.

    True what you are saying. I understand that if you mix solar panels, you only get what that least panel outputs...

    We have the 18.8 Cruiser Essential caravan this video just answered my question regarding the generator and now I just need to convinced the handbrake this is exactly what we need when travelling full-time free camping.
    It's good to know our 2000w honda generator will still do it job without upgrading it .
    Look forward to your next video's mate 👍
    Keep up the great work , Cheers 🍻

      Yep that’s correct. You can only do this with a Victron system.

    I love watching these informative vids, thanks for making them. Just a quick question, any reason you don't use high voltage house panels?

    • @extremeacc101
      @extremeacc101  2 роки тому +1

      It all comes down to size. Most caravans cannot accommodate such a large solar module.
      Of course way possible and budget/weight permits the answer is yes

    Another great video with plenty of technical detail ! Are there any particular solar panels you recommend for hybrid caravans. My pop-top roof has a max loading of 20kg.

    • @extremeacc101
      @extremeacc101  2 роки тому +1

      Yes definitely. There are only a couple of brands of thin film solar panels that I would use and recommend. SUNMAN or SOLBIAN
      A company called Solar4rvs settle them. They are located in Victoria.

    Hey Matt are you able to set the victron dcdc on/off detection settings via the app with a smart alternator, so no need for ignition switch to detect cheers.

      Of course you can. That’s the beautiful thing about this product. Positive trigger or negative trigger or switch or complete control over voltage turn on turn off.

    Hi matty
    If you removed this system to put in a new Van would you take the solar panels as well or do you leave them and install new ones again ?.
    Ps
    I've learnt so much from your videos thank you

    • @extremeacc101
      @extremeacc101  2 роки тому +1

      No. I mean you probably could but I wouldn’t bother with it. You are better off leaving the solar system in place and programming it to suit the new battery system you put in.
      We removed a system a few weeks back. We removed his large lithium battery bank and he had 800 W of roof mounted solar. He installed some AGM batteries in its place and we simply re-programmed the solar charge controller to suit that AGM battery. You can even throttle down the maximum charge rate too.
      Removing these large solar arrays would also leave lots of messy aluminum brackets on the roof. As these are sikaflex down they would need to be cut off.

    Hey mate! Love the videos have watched a few, just curious about when you referenced "networking" the different chargers, how to you get say a mppt and dcdc to not "fight" each other?

    • @extremeacc101
      @extremeacc101  Рік тому

      They dont fight if they have the correct gauge cable and length.
      It is also to do with where you run the cable to. Make sure they all meet at the same point. both neg and pos

    Another great install Matt , why don’t you use circuit breakers instead of fuses ?

    • @extremeacc101
      @extremeacc101  2 роки тому

      That’s a great question it comes down to the high current and availability.
      It’s very common to see these MIDI fuses used as well as larger ANL or AMG fuses over circuit breakers.
      For us this set up works quite well.

    Hello.
    Im curious to know the AC and microwave used.
    Im building a 2.7kw solar system 24volt 560ah or over 14kwh of batteries.
    I was planning on using
    X2 multiplus ii 24/3000... split phase
    2x Smart solar 150/70 to leave a little room for an extra pair of panels if needed & finaly a 24 to 12 volt dc converter..
    I was planning on running a mr cool 18k btu AC, a 240v induction stove and microwave pluse a few starlink, netgear router and a few other electronics.
    We corently work from home and plan to do some traveling

      The microwave i believe is NCE branded.

    • @extremeacc101
      @extremeacc101  Рік тому +1

      So many variables here could be any thing from $12,000 to $20,000
      That said most of the jobs fall between 15 and $20,000
      Variable factors like the amount of solar modules we use right through to the amount of cable lugs. We use also the size of the touchscreen through to the amount of batteries we use.
