Laser texturing and Sol Gel coatings combined to produce materials with low surface energy

IK4-TEKNIKER has developed a set of superhydrophobic solution on sheets of Aluminium, combining the texturized laser with Sol-Gel technology to obtain angles of contact over the 140° (compared with the angle of contact of 84 ° of a sheet of Aluminium without modifying). In addition, both technologies are scalable for the treatment of not flat surfaces, and they have a great versatility for materials capable of being treated.
The hydrophobicity and superhydrophobicity of a surface, it is associated with functional behaviors of great interest in the electrodomestic and automotion sectors.
