I once seen them on the Dynamo Open Air, Wagner on vocals, loved it. First Trouble with their bible theme next Mercyful Fate, the contrast could not be bigger.
Thanks to a comment on another video for Cirith Ungol, I finally found Trouble. I remember hearing this track on Tommy Vances Friday night rock show in the late 80's and tried to order the album from my local store (which was famous for serving John Lennon in the 60's and amazingly is still run by the son of the original proprietor) but they failed to get the album for me. For years I've wanted to hear this again, but due to a cycling accident I've had memory issues for years and for the life of me couldn't remeber the name of the band. 30 years later I've finally found it. amazing.
Wagner has always been my favorite trouble singer. these albums go back to my teenage years in the 80s God I wore them albums out. I had to copy the vinyl on the cassette because I would wear the vinyl out and I could just keep making multiple cassette copies before I wore out the record LOL
Good to hear Psalm 9, one of my fave Trouble songs (Bastards too!). The band sounds really good as well. I miss the original singers big hair, it doesn't look right without it, haha. This dude does a good job on vocals, I think he's doing the best he can, all you can really ask, right?
This cat is good at what he does but Wagner's voice could be so creepy at times it really enhanced the sinister feel of so many of their songs. The Skull in particular.
I'm stunned by Kyle Thomas performance. I'm a fan of Exhorder but would have never think he would fit so well with Trouble. And The Distortion Field he recorded with them in 2013 is super good too. Hope they will make a new album in 2025 as I saw they booked few shows for this year 🙏🏼
wow I didn’t even know Eric wasn’t singing any more ?? Anyone know ?? Used yo see these guys in Chicago in the beginning. Played frisbee with them at one show we went early in the day. Nobody was there bus us , trouble , and Barry Stern , getting his album autographed. Who later wound up joining the band. Awesome history and times and memories.
Growing up in Chicago in da day, Seeing Trouble grow from demo tapes to what they are today it is weird hearing somebody other than Eric belting out the classics. Hard shoes to fill but he's filling it respectfully without being Eric the 2nd he's adding his own style into these songs. Excellent is all I can say from an old metal head from the South Side of Chicago. Old story I remember seeing Trouble open for Slayer at the Aragon Brawlroom, Barry Stern from Zoetrope was drumming for them(best line up I think) The Slayer crowd being who they are were totally disrespecting Trouble, Come on hometown boys opening up for Slayer was monumental but the F U's were flying beer cups the whole 9 yards 2nd song in Barry stopped playing got up on his drums and read the crowd the Riot act which inturn miraculously they stopped dissing Trouble. Ahhhhhh then scene in the day. Anyways good to see Trouble staying true and not selling our and still hitting it as good as in the early days. Psalm 9 should be in the top 10 Albums of the underground scene IMO.
Psalms 9 best non-Christian, Christian album ever! Definitely deserve to be in some hall of fame somewhere. They are some of the freakin' pioneers of this music.
The Lord shall endure forever For He hath prepared His throne for judgment And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee For Thou Lord have not forsaken those that seek Thee I will praise Thee O Lord I will sing praise in Thy name Don't forget the cry of the humble Have mercy on me Put them in fear O Lord That the nations may know Let them realize They are just men, just men Thou hast rebuked the heathen Thou hast destroyed the wicked Won't forget the cry of the humble Have mercy on me Put them in fear O Lord That the nations may know Let them realize They are just men, just men The Lord shall endure forever For He hath prepared His throne for judgment And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee For Thou Lord have not forsaken those that…
Here's the deal, Eric was unique. And he was also a voice no one will ever mimic. I bet if you ask him what helped give him his raspy sound was due to smoking and after all these years he could no longer provide the sounddms that only he could generate, im glad he isn't torturing his vocal chords any longer, and I can only hope the new singer can pick up on Eric's unique intros and outros
All the Eric whiners need to get over the past and move on. Clearly all the band members have. We now have two great bands. Kyle's work on The Distortion Field is killer and the follow up will kick ass even more. Celebrate it! I get it. Eric was / is great but they couldn't make it work and packed it in. Do ya trash the Skull too cuz there's no Bruce or Rick? I hope not. Change is natural. I'd much rather have a Kyle fronted Trouble than no Trouble at all. Doom on!
Actually, you're wrong, Cecilia. That show from 2007 was just after Eric came back into the band after not doing much singing in a long time and you're right- he struggled a lot. However, you can watch clips of The Skull from even this past year (2016) where he sounds a hell of a lot better than he did on that first tour back with Trouble. The guy is pushing 60 and a smoker, so he's not gonna sing like when he was 25 even on his bets nights now, but he has definitely sounded better in recent years than on the clip you're talking about... He doesn't write a lot of upper-register shit in Blackfinger and The Skull, so he doesn't have to reach on that stuff as much and sounds great.
Saw them back in 90. This is my first time without Eric. Very underrated band. Shouldve been so much bigger.
I once seen them on the Dynamo Open Air, Wagner on vocals, loved it. First Trouble with their bible theme next Mercyful Fate, the contrast could not be bigger.
Pure Doom Legends!
The Downing/Tipton of the Doom World....Brilliant Guitarists!
May God bless them with all his grace ...awesome band indeed ...truly the lords of doom metal.
I remember these guys when they first started out in Chicago Rusty Nail Days. Still have their albums, great band with many memories.

Helllll yeaaa glad you found way back to trouble!! 🤘
one of the coolest bands EVER!!!
Bruce's solo toward the end...doesn't get any better than that!!!

he's in a band called the skull now
Before he passed away he sang in Blackfiner and the band the SKULL.
he lost the high end of his range a long time ago, this singer does a good job though
What a power sound, God bless this band its pure its True its no fake, Just a wall Of thunder power sound

That singer kicks ass!
Man I wish we had a Trouble full show with KT on vocals on youtube
There’s a Chicago gig from just a year ago or so on UA-cam.
At least it was.
Psalms 9 best non-Christian, Christian album ever! Definitely deserve to be in some hall of fame somewhere. They are some of the freakin' pioneers of this music.
GREAT!!!
Great guitar playing
This singer is badass I would fucking love to see them play with him
I really like this new singer :-)
Love this band and the mystique will pray !!!!!!!!

Correction : They are just men, not god.
I miss early TROUBLE and I miss early EXHORDER...
These guys rock
Damn heavy
The Skull with Eric Wagner sounds like how Trouble should have sounded nowadays. Slow and heavy! Doom metal at it's best.\m/
Bad Ass!
Was this the Exhorder dude?
Yes that is him and check out his other band Floodgate
, a true GEM
the best metal ever
Where is the rest of the footage? Full show?

RIP Eric Wagner. This dude is OK, but Eric was ten times cooler and his distinctive vocals made these songs. Feels like a good cover band of Trouble.
hell to the fuck yes
Eric!!!
What is the name of this song.?
First one is Psalm 9, second one - Bastads will pay
It's a little different without the raspy dirty martini voice 🤘
Wagner is just too unique. He's one of a kind and it isn't Trouble without him.
It's still Trouble it's the musicians that are the most important members not the singer
Man..Eric Wagner painfully missed here. Sorry brother, no offense.guys. Still fucking LOVE you though. Always!!
It's just not Trouble without Eric Wagner rest easy brother. And is that a fucking wood block?
Yes it is.
Who’s the vocalist?
Awesome as expected but I still miss Wagner.
Trouble sounds better with a singer than a growler.
All the Eric whiners need to get over the past and move on. Clearly all the band members have. We now have two great bands. Spot on brother
Eric Wagner R.I.P.
He really is great and is a good fit for their sound.
Trouble rules.. the singer is trying but no dice... Eric Wagner is the only one.. but one of the best bands of all time...
not Eric Wagner sory
this guy is good, but for me this like queen without freddie
They need to bring Eric Wagner back (this dude at least is better than the previous singer)
Brandön Wayne Milliron I know who he is and the Pantera/Down connection is exactly why I don't like him. He's a growler and Trouble needs a singer.

@@mauriciohernandezdiaz9825Kyle Thomas is doing just fine. Now that Eric isn't with us, he's the man. Kyle's great.
Not one shredded evidence that this group was ever Christian. Is there?
Eric sings like Lou Reed this guy sings way better like Slayer!
WHHHHAATTT???
Can't do it..without Wagner it's not for me
This isn't trouble. Fuckin cover band.
This is NOT Trouble!!! No Eric Wagner...NO TROUBLE PERIOD! AWFUL!
This is trouble the musicians are the most important members not the singer
@@billgeezeriommi eso es correcto
Yes, it is Trouble. Then stay home and we'll have a great time at the shows.
Holy ship! Sabbath turbocharged with nitro.
