    This is exactly what I was looking for. These exercises have really helped my Aunt with balance/walking. She suffered from a stroke last month.

    Does it matter if I start to walk with the right foot and immediately change to left foot right foot? I’m a righty.

      HI Denni. You'll have to experiment with which leg works best for starting. I've found that your dominant side is not as important as which side is stronger and more mobile. Keep in mind that if you start with your right leg, your left arm will be swinging forward, so you might actually find that leading with our dominant arm may queue the lower body more effectively. Hope that helps.

    Try walking 4.2 miles per hour on a treadmill for 2 miles with your arms folded in front of you. I am 61 and do it all the time, but you need good balance to do that. You don't need your arms to walk.

      I'm sure that's a good balance challenge. I'm not a fan of eliminating arm swing when you walk for a lot of reasons. But it sounds like you're determined and as a drill this might be useful. But yes, IMHO you DO need your arms to walk safely as things progress. Good luck and keep up the hard work!
