RSC, you need to post the entire skit for this bit to have any impact. It skips all the best bits. I still bust out laughing when Tim Minchin and Sir Ian "mistake" Benedict Cumberbatch for another actor. : D
For the record, when I worked behind the scenes in my high school's production of Hamlet some seventeen years back--our Hamlet WAS indeed a female. She was absolutely brilliant. I still remember congratulating her on such a brilliant portrayal after the play. Our Guildenstern was a female too. Where's Andrew Scott and Tom Hiddleston??? You ask all the past Hamlets to come together and leave out MORIARTY AND LOKI??? Really? LMAOO @ "To Be or Not to be that ISSSSS the question" xDDDDDD I was dying.
This sucks. I was going to cite this video in a paper I'm writing on the original text vs.delivery of lines in movie and stage adaptations but I can't cite what isn't there xC
Found it, it's Harriet Walter! The full cast is, (in order); Paapa Essiedu, Tim Minchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Harriet Walter, David Tennant, Rory Kinnear, Ian McKellen, Judi Dench, and Prince Charles. See www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/04/23/prince-charles-plays-hamlet-in-brilliant-bbc-sketch/
What fawning sycophants clapping, screaming and raving over old chucky. Mind you looking at all the luvvies in that group of actors I am not surprised. Disappointed in David Tennant though he looked just as fruity as the rest of them and simpering over his proximity to the heir to the throne.
Probably pointless, three years later, but: What did you watch? David Tennant steps back and goes to grab Dame Judy Dench to walk off stage. There's no "simpering". (from anyone, really) Apart from that: I'm pretty sure everything was scripted.

They keep calling him Eddie Redmayne, a contemporary of Benedict’s. I wish I. Outdoor find the full version. It is hilarious!
Well done, Your Majesty.

Haha. That is fabulous
I. LOVE. THIS!!!
One of the highlights of the "Shakespeare Show!" When will the show in its entirety be made available to American audiences?
It's available on iTunes in the Movies (I believe) section. I forgot how much it costs or if it can be rented.
It's on Amazon, too. PBS used to stream it, and maybe they will again.
Can anyone PLEASE give me the link of the full video?
Tim Minchin -super!!!
I wonder where I can see the whole thing.
Fun

its
its a joke
marian hunter you understand that this is a bit, right?
The irony of an ACTUAL prince closing the skit out is lost on Marian.
I thought the skit was very funny even though I didn't know some of the players.
