Iirc the media called the groups in LDH as Vocal & Performer/ Dancer Groups unlike other J-pop groups (either Idol groups, girl groups or boy bands) Glad that both of you give it a try despite not being your preferred genres.

Hi guys! Some info on the Exile-Tribe family, which are all sub groups from the original Exile (J-SoulBrothers) group founded in 2001. Some of the sub-groups are J-SoulBrothers, Generations, Rampage, (female)E-Girls, Happiness, Flowers who record under those group names, but all contracted with Avex Productions(Rhythm Zone) and LDH music management co. of Japan. Many of the sub group members were discovered in Exile training dance studios located in several prefectures in Japan. Kids as young as elementary schoolers register to learn Exile style of dancing in these studios. The most talented are eventually recruited to be members of Exile-Tribe and some of these youngsters can be seen in videos or in concerts with Exile-Tribe performances(check-out Rising Sun video to see some of the kids dancing in the video). Of these sub group members, you have solo performers who record under their own name, Atsushi, Hiro Igarashi, and CrazyBoy to name just a few. All members do acting in movies and tv dramas. I hope this helps a little in knowing who Exile-Tribe is.
Mendy does speak English. I remember went he first debut he had to have a translator followed him around for the first like year and a half. He grew up in New Jersey for most of his life.
So you're rock fans, you don't have to force yourself to watch these videos. I love death,black and hard metal but I can appreciate j-pop (more so obsessed) but I like the honest reaction tho.

最初のボーカル2人(atsushi, takahiro)は全く踊らずボーカル専門ですが、2番を歌ってる2人(shokichi, nesmith)は兼任しているEXILE secondで踊りながら歌うのと、EXILEではあまり歌う出番がない時が多いので基本的には踊っています^_^
