Never when performing and recording this cover did I think that this would do so well and be a hit with so many people, nevermind be viewed over FIFTY SEVEN THOUSAND TIMES (at time of writing this - 22:00 on 21/12/24)! Thank you, thank you so much to EVERYONE that has viewed and listened to this track here on UA-cam and on Spotify. I have been a musician for 35 years now and have played with many amazing musicians over the years that all gave me so much to learn and love from playing with them and I have also listened to a TON of bands. The Prodigy from the moment I heard them (when DJing as a young teen for a kids disco), were more than a "dance" band - they were just experts at creating emotion and feeling with what at first listen you'd be mistaken for thinking were simple musical phrases. Their music had sooooo many layers that allowed them to break through the genre they had been pigeon-holed into, into so many other musical genres and they seemed to do this with apparent ease. This track, being the opening musical track of their first proper studio album, just grabbed me instantly when I first listened to it, it took my mind away into a musical place in my head that had many different lands, textures and characters and it will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. I put a LOT into this cover, I sat for literally HOURS auditioning different instrument sounds that I felt were either a direct match, or a very close match. My reason for doing this was simple - this track is ICONIC in every sense of the word, not just for me but for so many Prodigy fans. It is iconic for being what is to me- the BEST opening track of any of their albums and also for being such an epic masterpiece. THat being said, I wanted this cover to be as authentic and true to the original as humanly possible, as certain pieces of music just HAVE to be performed EXACTLY as their originals because the pieces would never have the same impact if something different is done with them. So, I done my ABSOLUTE BEST to recreate the sound, the feel and the atmosphere of the original. This is without a doubt, one of the biggest solo projects that I have EVER done, next to my first ever solo-written, performed and recorded album "Lockdrown". It also stands as being one of the things I am most proud of as a musician, again alongside my solo album. Lastly, if you do enjoy my cover, please, go have a listen to some or ALL of my various covers I have done over the past few years here on the channel. Some are full covers with the original vocals or my own vocals, some are instrumentals. They all vary in their audio quality as I also started recording covers as a way of teaching myself how to record, mix and master music while also learning techniques involved in the performing as well. Also, please give my album "Lockdrown a listen either here on UA-cam or over on Spotify, this was a HUGE project for me. It marked a VERY rough time in my life, it was during Covid and the lockdowns when I started to write the first couple of tracks and I was going through a separation from my partner of almost 7 years. I was going through a lot mentally. Having already gone through a complete mental breakdown in 2012 and surviving an attempt to take my own life, I was closer to going through this again than at any other time since 2012. I had initially sat down with the purpose of writing a solo metal album, being a predominately metal and punk player. I was messing around with some sequences and phrases on the keys that would become backing for my metal tracks but the more I played them and listened back, the more I realised this was ALL going to be electronic. It was weird, because although my main instrument is bass guitar, I had actually started out as a keyboard player on and off, messing around playing Jean Michel Jarre and Mike Oldfield tracks as a kid then rediscovering my love for keys in high school with my best friend Joseph Markey (check out his cover of Tubular Bells Pt1 featuring me on bass...just BEAUTIFUL). This album marked my playing keys again for the first time since then and to me, you can hear I was having an absolute ball lol So yeah, this album, writing, performing and recording, was instrumental (pardon the pun) in assisting me through an extremely horrid time in my life, but it also - as cheesy as it sounds - saved me and my sanity. It gave me immense joy and excitement to be doing something creative again as my metal band had just split around the same time as the separation and lockdown, but to be doing it on my own. This was scary, challenging but soooo much fun all at once. It is LITERALLY my labour of love, heartbreak, sorrow, hope and joy and I loved it for helping me through all this. I hope you can too. If you would like to know the story behind the album, the true meaning, let me know here in the comments, I may even do a video on it in the future if there's enough interest. So again, to those who have viewed, listened, hit the like and subscribed here on UA-cam or over on Spotify - a MASSIVE thank you, you have made this old geezer so very happy and proud to have done this. G (One Man Stands) 💜💚💜

It's just an incredible album, it got so many people like myself into this genre of music and made us realise its not just all just inexperienced "musicians" playing noises on a keyboard. The Prodigy will always have a special place in my heart for surprising me with their music.
I've seen plenty of bands live n usually hefty metal shit but nothing compares to the Prodigy, the base n the bounce, seen them 4 times, once in a tent n once at a festival(T In The Park) on the main stage n once at a venue n they killed it, blow everyone of the stage, the ground shook n the base has a physical effect on your nervous system, made me tear up, good, drugs help aswell, couple of cheeky swedgers haha but 42 now so I've mellowed(not that much) RIP Keithy

So close to the original, shocking
When you cover an iconic track like this, you gotta do it as close to the original as you can 😁
