According to the vin seen in the video, this car is actually a true JDM Japanese market 2g dsm it is listed as a fwd and auto transmission. Another give away is the ENEOS sticker, they are a Japanese petroleum company and they have a few gas stations and service garages in Japan.
Wonderful information Mitsubishikid. You just cleared up the mystery of where the car came from. I am sure curious of the cars storyline and how rare it was in that market.
@@SlippingTime i recall reading that they were sold through the Mitsubishi car plaza dealer network, they were left hand drive and the gauge clusters had different top speeds then the UK,US ones, Japan never got an awd gsx 2g model, they only got the fwd 2.4 GS and the turbo GST i recall reading that they only got the 2ga body style cars 95-96 and 96 was the last year they got them.
Here in Spain (I own one from 98) we have the 4g63na, they had that mirrors and also the low rear spoiler stock and tailights in red and orange, but tere are restyling version that are extremely rare, the one I own is one of those, also we have so many turbo ones and few 420a ones taken from US and Canada from Spanish migrants living back there in the 80's and 90's.

As a German myself i can say that this one looks pretty much like an Eclipse you can find around here. We have about 400 registered, quite some convertibles but mostly NA 4g63s.

@@SlippingTime I was curiois too when i saw that so i checked mine about an hour or so ago and mine isnt like that at all. Ist 4MBMND32AXE(followed by a 6 digit number)
Are you interested in trading the US spec mirrors for foldable EU ones? Oem ones are basically non existing here :(

As for the mirror swap, it is a tempting offer. Perhaps someone reading these comments may want to do a swap. At the moment I have to figure out if I would want them for a next project or not.

I do regret it for sure. I was sad the next day when they were no more.
What do you need from the door? I still have my 95tsi awd, pretty sure theyre in good shape. I cant get to it until the snow melts though.

New to the channel love the content. I bought a 96 talon ESI today , would love to know your wheel and tire specs. The fitment on your talon looks great.
Thanks for watching. I assume you are asking for the specs on my 98 Talon wheels. They are ATS DTC Superlight 17x7.5 40 offset. Running a 205/50ZR17 for tires. The car is lowered quite a bit so that’s the best fitment that worked for the setup.
That's a weird one. I didn't think they had GS-T's in Europe, I thought they were all N/A (and had N/A DOHC 4G63s). Also weird to see the non-gray bottom cladding on a turbo model. I would guess it came from Japan.
I was thinking Japan later on too. Given the plate on the door jamb it might just be. I know 1g’s had the GSR in Japan. Not sure about a 2g though. In any case it sure is a rare find to see in North America. Too bad it’s in a junkyard now.
@@SlippingTime 2g's were sold in Japan as well. I think it was called an Eclipse GT if it was turbo. FWD only as well. Possibly only in 95-96
2g turbo models were not sold in Europe. The only way one would be there is if someone shipped one there.
