You can't choose this pirate life and then expect your captain or crewmates to keep you safe. Pirates gonna pirate. Don't be surprised when they put the life/cause/booty ahead of your well-being.
Your reactions to this are really good now, and enjoyable to watch. Glad you are slowly getting into it, it gets stronger and stronger. Opinions will change on certain characters as they get more depth, and the story progresses. The bloke who mentioned the dialogue in this show was spot on, it's the best written show I've ever watched in that regard.
Animusswtor _ Hell yeah. Silver is without a doubt my favorite character. I like them all though, it does become really difficult to choose a favorite with this show because the character development for everyone is all so good.
@@Nthomas3 Jack was always my favorite just because he was one of the few that I felt I could always trust his word and that he had more morals then most everyone else. I mean I like them all as well but Jack was the only one that I rooted for from start to finish and always wanted to see him succeed. Where basically everyone else had something they did that was very questionable. It's funny how they portrayed him in this series though especially his respect and loyalty towards Vane. Since his real life counterpart was known to basically be a total asshole who was always drinking sleeping around and in the end he turned on Vane by turning his crew against him and taking his ship the Ranger from him.
you guys seem to forget why Flint "Betrayed" the grew in the first place. Ima just say it, he is the one who can see the best decisions and get the results done, like we saw in this episode. He is willing to sacrifice some of his men for the benefit of the rest or his country. Have in mind that his crew are mostly murderers and rapers. His motive were to get the Urca gold and make nassau a civilization, he´s not gonna let some people get in his way even if he care about them. He would probably not prefer killing his men and you can CLEARLY see his regret by killing Gates but it just had to be done. What you need to get when you are watching this show is that everybody is a villian, this is not a modern story. Flint might be extreme in curtain situations because he is not perfect and a lead character should not be perfect. #teamflint

More Black Sails. For the Love of God. Twice a week. This show is way too epic. You guys should slam twice each week. Such a great show. So dramatic. The character development is truly incredible over the course of the whole show.
So on patreon we've gotten to 2x5 so I know lol. It does change some things but he is still being selfish and makes terrible decisions for Nassau. I get him, but at the same time I wouldnt be on his team if I were there.
@@CAKE.experience It will probably keep changing throughout season 2, tbh. With me at least, Flint had a real Jaime Lannister kind of character arc, but without the disappointing last season of GoT. Looking forward to the reactions :)
@@CAKE.experience haha the disgust on your face when Flint started giving orders again this episode was priceless. I'll say the writing and character arcs are one of the great things of this show. Probably at least 5 main characters I did a 180 on before the end of the final show.
I love Jack. He is such a gentleman among these pirates. And he is as smart as Flint and Silver without having their utter ruthlessness. There is such a rage and hatred in Flint aimed at the British Navy - if you get in the way of his single-minded hatred - bye-bye. As for Silver - I admired his cunning long before I came to love him. Unfortunately for Eleanor, she isn't quite as smart as she thinks she is.
Jack is hands down my favorite character of the whole series. Flint is a close second. Speaking of, I LOVE Pat's love for him and Marketa's hate for him. There's such an interesting dynamic there. Can't wait to see how they all feel about him in a few more episodes.
I love all three of Black Sails s2-s4, but s2 just might be my very favorite. As a season-long story arc, it's probably in my top five TV seasons of all time.
Some of the shows Nahid and Suraj stick with, yet but they both now have given up on this show? Makes me seriously question their tastes. Like I get it, everyone has different opinions and all. So don't come at me with that repetitive response. It just really blows my mind that a show as concise, well written, acted and made, which is only four short seasons long could have shed two of the Normies already. While some of these other 20 plus episode a season, seemingly endless, directionless dime a dozen shows, retain everyone no problem. It's such a bummer You didn't have all these people clamering for you to watch this, just so we could have you drop off of it so quickly. Especially when one of you (Nahid) watched a couple episodes in a row, where he clearly hadn't had enough sleep, so he dozed off most of the episode. Then I guess he figured he must not like the show. That was so fucking stupid, honestly
@Edward Plantagenet And whenever that happens with someone, they say they're away, or sick, or unable to be here, but will be back for the next one. They didn't say a thing, just like when Nahid ducked out. So I really don't think he's coming back
They are LITERAL pirates. Of course you should know that you can get killed by your crew and captain at any time. The thing is, flint is not a trustworthy guy, but he is a damn good captain. And the latter is what matters the most when you are in confronts, like when taking a ship. But i do understand that you disagree with his morals. We all do. But.. he is damn good.
The historical Ned Low was an absolute psycho. He was famous for torturing and executing prisoners. While some are no doubt exaggerations, there's enough evidence to suggest that he was actually reviled by other pirates. He was routinely abandoned by his co-captains.
I love how split the group is on Flint and I can't wait to see how they feel about him by the end of the season. You gotta remember if you haven't watched the entire show so far Flint is presented in a way that's understandable a lot of people don't like him yet.
18:52 Mind link 19:52 Rana has also had Cpt Jack show up when she was bedding French girl? What a coincidence. 27:00 Madame Girthy will be one hell of a character in Black Sails xxx. Chris was gobsmacked hearing that.
Really dissapointed in Nahid dropping this show. I wonder if he would actually stay and watch Breaking Bad these days if he hadnt seen it before or if he would leave because of "slow" and "no action" like he did here. You really missed out on this one son. Sad times when peoples attention spans are down to 5 minutes. No "action" for 5 minutes and they fall asleep.
If Flint was hotter than Vane the ladies would say " Flint is smarter though and know how to get out of hard situations, and he never was okay with rape" People always blindly defend what hey like, it's the politics 101.
Things slowly kicking off for the neverending crescendo... Well, I mean overall, sure, all seasons have their rythm, but man, it's gonna be such a ride from now on.
alexxassa I think once they get the full context of what happened to him they will understand that he’s not as simple as they are assuming right now. Especially after Charlestown...
It's a show about pirates, and people get upset about pirates doing pirate things. *shrug* Pat and Micky are killing it this season with their observations. Defending Vane when he absolutely set up the "rape shack"... "she did that to herself" as a female... that is disappointing/yikes another female said that. and judging by your own standards, Captain Jack and Anne Bonny lied to their crew members to murder them (even though they were gross dbags crew) but that is cool? but Flint is terrible ...only because the story made you like Billy and Gates. But there is some weird logic you guys are employing, and by weird I mean hypocritical.
Marketa's shirt is dope! Also my love affair with Jack and Anne's relationship is rekindled Edit: you guys I can't believe you're making me agree with Pat on your Vane opinions.... he's a bad man
Pretty sure the Captains who fuck up on their first attempt are no longer captains after that. So I would have to disagree with saying Dufresne was new so of course he was gonna screw up. As to me your either cut out to be a captain from the very start and succeed from the jump until you fail as they all fail at some point down the line. Or you fail at the start and maybe just maybe your lucky to build yourself back up and one day become captain again. But that's got to be rare as many are probably either killed before then or just never do enough to impress enough people to believe in you again. Dufresne in my eyes no matter what he did was basically always gonna fail at some point even if he took the other route and returned back safely. As I imagine he would just fail later down the line. It's kind of like what happens to Jack later on in the series. His first conflict came about and since he didn't have a name for himself yet he was at a disadvantage basically having to agree with what ever the other Captain wanted. Which he knew if he went along with his run as captain would be as good as dead as his crew would lose all respect for him instantly and not trust a captain who had already been made to look weak. So Jack had to do something to turn the situation in his favor and show not only his crew but the other crew that he was a strong captain and someone you would be willing to follow.
Four years late but Anne Bonnie was the only female pirate awesome enough for history to remember her name. I think she is underutilized. And Flint is awesome but the Flint lovers do need to recognize her is ruthless and somewhat deserving of some of the hate he gets. I’m on his side too but I can see why some people wouldn’t be.
