London native Tim Garcia is a DJ, Broadcaster and record Label Owner. His passion for sharing music saw him hold down a 5 year weekly residency on Jazz FM, followed by a show on Worldwide FM and now a residency on Balamii Radio.
With his label Musica Macondo he's worked on a broad range of music from artists from Latin America, Africa, North America and Europe. Releasing music from Grammy nominated musicians and some of the best producers in the world of electronic music.
His deep love of eclecticism has seen him DJ in clubs and festivals across the UK and Europe.
Tim is also the label manager for dutch electronic music label Deeptrax records and is currently reading his MA in Music: Ethnomusicology at SOAS University.
"For this mix I wanted to explore the influence of jazz and soul on black electronic music (in this case house). It’s a mix of records that I’ve connected with deeply, some old and some newer but all rooted in the musical heritage of Detroit, Chicago and New York. Places to which I owe so much of my love of music. Records that evoke that deep, warm soulful goodness. I hope you enjoy it."

There is nothing new under the sun. "House Music" House parties were all the rage in the 90's, but they were common and the norm in the 50's and 60's. We had house parties in the basement with disco balls, mood lighting and the works. In. fact those were the only kind of parties I attended. The music was not branded house music, just good dance music. Any hoo, I enjoyed this set. Real soulful. Salute to the DJ.
