Yeah, it is a tough decision among the Garmin fēnix 7X Pro, Instinct 2X Solar, COROS Pace 3, and the COROS Apex 2 Pro. I've been really thinking about the "comfort factor" lately and I just enjoy the COROS timepieces. I am still hoping for COROS to get into the solar charging watches, if possible, next year in 2024.
On the Pro 3 there's a setting to let you double tap the screen to count your laps. Have had the Pro 5 for about a week and would investigate the settings here.
Bummer! I did not know about that feature. I plan to test the 2024 TicWatch model and I wrote down a note to use that double-tap feature, thank you for clicking on by with some much needed wisdom...

I would recommend COROS over a Garmin as far as valuable bang-for-your buck smart sports watch. The comfort factor of the COROS Pace 3 is far better than a Garmin EPIX 2.0 or their new Fenix 7X Pro. For example, those larger Garmin watches giggle around my wrist too much when I run. One my primary reasons for running is to stay fit, healthy, and avoid obesity. I don't like the feeling of anything giggling while running 7.8 miles per hour 🤓
Im not happy with my new tikwatch, Im unable to get play store working nor can I get any sounds to work even after a reset. With the one tap health mine only shows 4 results.Heart, blood, resp and stress.

As someone who is into 'being promoted ' by mobvoi did you ask them about their broken promises on the ticwatch pro3 ? Do you think future customers should be scared by their lack of integrity
Sorry, I asked and... Mobvoi turned me down. They were not interested in a Collaboration at this time. Not with their TicWatch Pro 5 nor with the Mobvoi Home Incline treadmill sitting on my living room floor for nearly two weeks (unopened).
There should be more consideration about whom these watches are for. For instance the comparison to g shock and it's lap button. Well g shock is a tactical watch. The focus is different. There's a lot of health focus on smartwatches across the board, but it appears that their trying to gear towards music or gps.
An interesting point. As for a smartwatch for music, yeah, Apple & Samsung cast a large shadow over TicWatch. I don't know who the TicWatch is for with its many inconsistencies, and poor battery life. It was better then the TicWatch 3, and perhaps with more fine-tuning over the next nine months Mobvoi will release an amazing TicWatch 6 in 2024🤞
Fantastic review, thank you. Mine has just arrived. Also Mobvoi are rolling out Wear OS4 to all regions as of last month! Woo hoo! It includes backup and restore between versions, something that you highlighted in your review - solved! And the 2nd button is now customisable. A few other nice improvements too. But still not tic tic tic sound ... which, given the brand name, would make so much sense!
Hooray, and glad you found my silly video of some help. ‘Tis comments like yours that gets me back into the Edit Chair to create another honest review… I am behind with over 100 videos in my backlog and more gadgets keep showing up at the Postal Annex Office. And even though TechTober is overwhelmingly fabulous, there are literally too many gadgets being released those month for me to buy, review, and share. If TicWatch releases another wearable in December, yes, I will give them another test. TicWatch should make a tick, tick, tick sound for the watch’s second hand just like the Galaxy Watch did back on 2018 🤓

Glad it was helpful! And really, not included a "lap button" for a $300.00 smartwatch is... NOT helped when TicWatch is selling such a great smart sports watch. The inconsistencies of the both the hardware, and software, drove me to the near brink of insanity. Even worse, the Mobvoi Home Incline Treadmill nearly caught on fire the other day and I was only walking 4.5 miles per hour. And yeah, I did add the included silicone liquid Mobvoi includes. It is a shame the quality inspections are so low over in the Mobvoi Home Department. There is a great need for walking/jogging treadmills under $500.00 USD. I have the sandstone one with Wear OS 3.5 and i have to say it's a pretty good watch. The low power screen could be laid out better and i barely use it to be honest, so I am getting around 3 full days at full brightness with all the bells and whistles turned on, with a third party watchface. I do feel Wear OS needs some killer feature, something that just makes you smile but in general, it's a good watch... And I actually received an update yesterday!
@@PeterHerget Yeah I regularly get that much, with the low power as my AOD and tilt to wake set to the AMOLED. I came from an original Huawei Watch GT which was a 7 day watch but apart from notifications, it did very little else. The update yesterday gave an option for enhanced vibrations which is great and much more intense. I think the update controversy has given Mobvoi a bad name but I don't see anything in Wear OS4 that is particularly needed. Would be nice to see the OS3 update for older users but as it's my first Mobvoi I can live with what I have quite easily

Sorry, never heard of the Telegram app. The voice dictation was as good as any other WearOS smartwatch :)

I just finished a HITT & strength workout wearing my COROS Pace 3 and the watch face stays on the entire time - it was great! And yeah, you can adjust the workout screen to fit your needs. Would you like me to make you a video, eh?

E.g. - which training cab I specify, like intervals, can they be progressive (200m, 400m, 600m) - can I access additional timer on the watch during, how calls watch during run, how UA-cam music watch during run (e.g. do they have like button so u can add tracks to like list without phone, also are watch tracking inclines/declines, also which statistics are given in the end - is it possible to see withing a single kilometer my fast pace and slow pace. The TicWatch Pro 5 has lasted some 2 to 4 days, as always, it depends upon the display settings, GPS, and 22 other factors. I have not tested the T-Rex Pro, sorry. Normally, whatever the company tells you on their website and then subtract 10 to 20% when it related to battery life estimates.
Yes, it is a good watch. Many people comment on the fact that I am too picky. Nonetheless, I am a QA Software Engineer during the day and that bleeds over into over areas of my life. I did point out many positive aspects of the TicWatch Pro 5 :) Thanks for your comment and happy May 2024!

Literally a lot of missed oportunities... This could be the best watch to wear, unfortunetly it isn't. No stop watch or a count down, on eco mod is literally no-brainer. I can't strugle enough this watch have big no-brainer cons and MO (missed opportunities). But then they have made sleeping sounds? Literally why 😂 A blender noise, deep fried food. W-H-Y-? - Why there is no stop watch in ecomode and there is a KITCHEN BLENDER SOUND. This is a child based logic system.
Yeah, I wanted to love to wear the TicWatch Pro 5 more than it was possible. Unfortunately, yes, too many inconsistencies with the watch hardware, software, and within the Mobvoi app. Every company makes mistakes, remember the Apple iPhone 4 death grip? I would recommend waiting for the next TicWatch. The TW Pro 5 was inconsistent, and I believe my video had more negative points than positive. I had high hopes for this TicWatch in 2023 and will hope again, and cheer for Mobvoi in 2024. If you need a great workout watch... 1. COROS Pace 3, only $229 2. Garmin Forerunner - around $300 to $500 I would pass on the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 and don't buy the Apple Watch Ultra 2.0 either. I am also really enjoying the Amazfit Balance for $250 ~ happy shopping!
They sent me a voucher to let me upgrade after the battery on the Pro 5 had died. In the e mode there's a separate setting to let the watch not blink into your face during the night, deselect tilt wakeup and you now have to press the side button to light.

Yes, it is a bit much… I am able to score discounts, often wait for gadgets to go on sale, and some of the smart wearables were free media samples from vendors.

Salt water and technology do not often mix well. I would chat the Mobvoi TicWatch Support Team and ask them directly.
Ticwatch sounds like a good watch but with some shortcomings. I might wait for the next iteration to see if they fix any of the issues you addressed

Yeah, I wanted to love to wear the TicWatch Pro 5 more than it was possible. Unfortunately, yes, too many inconsistencies with the watch hardware, software, and within the Mobvoi app. Every company makes mistakes, remember the Apple iPhone 4 death grip? I still have a lot of hope for the TicWatch 6🤞

So... you've been to hell and they have UA-cam. That is fascinating and I will simply take your word for it. Now, back the video, yes, the zooming in and out was a tad too much and I have not used the auto-zoom feature on my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 since that particular video was created. I found it to be quite annoying during the four hours of editing it took me to create the TicWatch Pro 5 review you just watched. Are you a fan of TicWatch?
I've been a video editor so i know what means edit for hours just for a short video, but those zooms have trampoline vibes
however not a TicWatch fan, but quite interested in it. i'm still understanding if this will be my next watch @@PeterHerget
I would recommend waiting for the next TicWatch. The TW Pro 5 was inconsistent, and I believe my video had more negative points than positive. I had high hopes for this TicWatch in 2023 and will hope again, and cheer for Mobvoi in 2024. If you need a great workout watch...

They sent me a voucher to let me upgrade after the battery on the Pro 5 had died. In the e mode there's a separate setting to let the watch not blink into your face during the night, deselect tilt wakeup and you now have to press the side button to light.

Yes, it is a bit much… I am able to score discounts, often wait for gadgets to go on sale, and some of the smart wearables were free media samples from vendors.
Yeah sorry no Google assistant...this watch never happened IMO...it's a paper weight...and would be a complete waste of money for any sucker buying it. Mobvoi needs to hang it up and bow down to Samsung and Apple and pack it in
Mobvoi has some serious market share and carved out a nice niche for themselves. I don't see them going anywhere. I have HIGH hopes for the TicWatch 6
