    There will *always* be secrets in politics.
    The reality remains… secrets are birthed from corruption. Let’s focus on that instead of hate. Sometimes we don’t seek closure for the right reasons. Sometimes we look in the wrong places for closure. Let us look to each other instead for help in moving forward. Let us support the people of our country.

    What I find interesting is that people don't want to address apartheid because it's supposedly in the past yet there are still holocaust victims coming out and the perpetrators are still being prosecuted to this day. I understand why it's a touchy subject but I still have family that has ptsd because of what happened to them in the past. It's very frustrating when the perpetrator doesn't take full responsibility of their crimes and acknowledgement of the pain caused. I totally, without reservation forgive De Klerk and I pray he finds eternal rest but my flesh is weak and I find myself conflicted because the atrocities committed by the apartheid government have left scars that I try to hide but find myself gravitating towards hatred when I should love. I can only hope that our children will do better than us, because we are still failing each other in this country.

    • @Hellstothenaw
      @Hellstothenaw 2 роки тому +1

      Well said. However, my family also has scars from pre-apartheid atrocities caused by black and british folks. Yet, you do not see us holding those scars against you. There are 3 communities who need to do some serious introspection: The Jewish, Black & LGBTQ communities. You cannot make yourselves out to be the victims for eternity, especialky when you are all put on a pedastal. I am sorry for what happened in the past. We should ALL be sorry. But we will never move on if we keep pandering to those communities. That is not what equality is about. People are tired of the “poor me” attittudes, cause all cultures have been screwed over at a point in time. You are not special because you lived through apartheid. Focus on what is happening now. A nation is as strong as its leaders...and SA is not strong right now, We are weak because we keep looking back without providing any solutions for the future. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

    • @LeratoM33711
      @LeratoM33711 2 роки тому +2

      @@Hellstothenaw The reason people keep looking back is because amends were not made. Like the original commenter is saying, how Germany has handled their disgusting past is a more humane way of doing it. You don't wrong someone then tell them to just "get over it" when the consequences of that wrong are still there and no apology or remorse expressed. SA won't move forward for a long time, because of the wounds of apartheid and then adding salt on that wound - the apathy and callousness with which is was handled and the lack of justice. Further down the generations with less people who might feel the consequences as directly, maybe so. As someone who didn't live during that time and who was lucky enough to have parents who made it to middle class despite, I'm not traumatized or angry. So my political decisions aren't as affected by our racial past, but it's not like that for majority of people who are traumatized, angry, still very disadvantaged as a result and uneducated. That's why so many have kept voting for ANC. So of course it's easy for us to say "just focus on the future" but again, majority are still living in fear of not making it to tomorrow, so until more people have the emotional intelligence to look at cause/effect and be more empathetic, it's just an idea.

Everyone has struggles they go through, unfortunately some worse than others, but the difference is how you deal with it. The 'poor me' attitudes, honestly is nothing more than a cop-out! Are we going to hold on to the past forever??? OR are we at some point going to move forward while we still have time... People: We all are going to die at some point. Are we going to cling onto what has been, what could have been or what should have been and die a sour people??? Or are we going to put the past behind us, move forward and make the best out of the little time we have left and die a happy people?
    While History should not be forgotten, we cannot 'move-on' while we keep-on dangling the past in front of our noses all the time! What has happened, has happened! You can NOT change the past! Let us make sure it does not happen again; We can however change the future!!! And let's move on in the best possible way, with true equal opportunities for all who are willing to put in the effort!
    Unfortunately this cannot happen for as long as corrupt officials ransack the economy and political "leaders" drum up the racial cards, to turn us against each other! Or can it? Can we show them? Can we move forward despite the rotten rats in high places? - I believe we can!
    C'mon - we as South Africans are better than this, are we not? Let's stand together and not fall for satan's dirty tricks who wants to keep us divided! Let's put the past on the back seat for a while and we can become the great nation we are meant to be - Black, white, pink, purple, does not matter! - Let us all support and help one another! Stop the Stealing, Killing and Destroying - that is the work of Satan, NOT OUR's!!!

    At a crucial point of the negotiations strangely both President Mbeki and Zuma were removed from the negotiations team and replaced by Ramaphosa. Realising the things he is doing now showing no compassion for our people and him being afraid to take bold decisions we know he sold us out for a price. That's why out of the blue they wanted to pressurise Tata Madiba to make him deputy president overlooking all the people who gave their lives to fight for our freedom, knowing the brutal regime then how is it that if he was a genuine freedom fighter fighting for justice he never spent a single day in prison. Why is it that when he was the president of the SRC in the then Turfloop University they were arrested and all his fellow members, the likes of Mosiua Lekota were sentenced to 10 years in Robben Island, he was the only one acquitted and released even though they were involved in the same activities. Why is it that when he couldn't be deputy president he left politics completely to pursue his own business. It was never his cinviction to fight for justice and now we can see whose interest he is serving. The man doesn't care about the plight of the poor in this country that's why he will never go to Marikana to face those families straight in the eye. That's why last year they signed non disclosure agreements to lie to the nation about a vaccine when they knew it was a trial they would be using our people as guinea pigs so that company can have more data on the vaccine. He will never come clean about the letter... mxm

      @@antonferreira5174 If your experience of suffering is the "current government" than me and you cannot have this conversation, honestly! I'm not saying your pain is any less compared to my kind but it is.. We grew up on 2 different planets. I bet you think i hate him because of his color but no i don't, only because of his actions.. There's his black friends i have on the list too. I don't need to tell you i'm not racist because we don't know each other. However you view me i don't care. Don't tell me about the Bible people use it to justify nonsense all the time. People who know it like the back of their hand still raping, stealing and murdering.. Don't use the Bible to prove a point to me
