Finally got the sleep i needed to be able to give a proper response! There's no other community outside of my family that i would sacrifice sleep for 12 hours straight. Thank you Randy for making my return to One piece in 2023, in terms of streaming, conversations, and laughter, an all around cornerstone memory. The conversations were fluid and fun from Drip to Dad conversations. Just like i look forward to a new chapter of One piece, I look forward to our paths crossing again whether in person or on stream. Thank you for being an irreplaceable creator of the community, You and Chrissy both! Hopefully Mars and Zen will be able to appreciate why their dads went missing for 12 hours LOL

I think another balance to the Hito Hito no Mi, Model Nika, is that it starts out as the "Gomu Gomu no Mi" and is super hard to control and get a hang of, remember Luffy struggled for a few years in the beginning just to be able to throw a simple successful punch.
I think it takes huge imagination and training in order to make the DF work, and a child has a huge imagination and Luffy had a lot of prior training before he left his home island, plus that also makes the fruit very vulnerable to a reset as it's hard for a new user to unlock and master the fruit and if they expose themselves too early and too loudly they would be taken out before they can truly awaken it.

Pudding getting Garps memories for God's Valley flashback is big brain 🧠 at work.
I love how so many people hate Kaidos' flashback and love Big Moms, but we barely got anything from BM flashback. We've had years to piece little things together to fill out parts, but we aren't giving Kaido the same leeway. For myself, I understand Kaido a lot better from his manga backstory than BM. But over the years, people have made logical head cannon that wasn't in the Manga and say now we know more about her. A lot of it is head cannon that has been around for so long that people think it's actual cannon now. When it never was but people were able to make believable logical storyline from the bits we got in the Manga.
I feel like people only remember when Big Mom eats her friends and Mother Carmel and automatically say that the flashback was fire from that. I really do hope we learn more about Kaido though.

I agree here. A great example of this whole thing is Aizen... We get to know his motivation and goals, which are CLOSELY tied to end game stuff with the Soul King and Yhwach. But there was enough backstory for Aizen that works exclusively within the context of the arc as a standalone storyline.
And even things that link back to Ichigo and the others are foreshadowed or eluded to through his backstory.
In fact, Oda has done this himself before many times. We understand that Doflamingo knows about Imu, the national treasures, Joyboy(the smile fruits link back to it) and a whole LOT of things, and we STILL got his backstory and motivations without giving anything away that spoils any of the information he knows.
We got BIG MOM'S backstory, enough of it to the point where even without the whole Rocks plot line, we fully understood her motivations and goals.
The excuse or notion, that Kaido's backstory is closely linked to Xebec's is redundant because Big Mom's backstory is linked to it as well, in fact she was older and more active at the time as a strong pirate so she probably has more of an argument for that excuse, yet we got a great backstory for her... Kaido's backstory needed time to breathe, so we could understand the character better.
Overall, I personally didn't care if he had a backstory to be honest... He was just like Enel, Arlong or Crocodile to me, they still worked in the present as great characters and we knew enough already.
My issue is that, you either skip it entirely or deliver whenever you do actually set things up for a character.
You can't choose to give the main villain of the SAGA a backstory that when compared to lesser villains within previous arcs, is just bad and barebones with nothing really substantial.
Apart from Kaido and King, who else was relevant to Kaido's backstory??
That's how I view this topic, personally.

I called the Vegapunk Arc like 3-4 years ago.
Sometimes to my detriment I rely a quite a bit on parallels when it comes to One Piece predictions.
Vegapunk was just the perfect New World parallel to Thriller Bark that I could think of (Horror vs Sci-Fi,
now with all the info we know we about Kuma and the confirmation of the defeat of Kaidou, after first
being mentioned as a huge threat by Moria, I'm confident in calling it the perfect parellel to Thriller Bark).
My personal predictions for the remaining arcs in the Final Saga (and their parallels) after Egghead are:
1. Lodestar (mirroring Sabaody)
2. Elbaf (mirroring Amazon Lily)
3. The Moon (mirroring Impel Down)
4. Laugh Tale (One Piece attained, Pirate King achieved, prep for End War)
5. Mariejoa (mirroring Marineford, completing what Roger couldn't as Pirate King)
6. Epilogue Arc
I suspect a soft crew/affiliation/focus split after Lodestar as well mirroring post-Sabaody, up until post-Moon Arc,/pre-LaughTale Arc.
