If the game "rock, paper, scissors" was changed to "rock, water, wind" - would choosing rock ever make you a winner? Rocks all across the planet are constantly battered by the elements. I assume the rocks were limestone or something of that sort to react with the acid. I want to do this with my class.

Great question! Mr. Jose said he used marble for this experiment. He noted that limestone could be used but it would breakdown faster and cause the water to be much more cloudy.

Can use chalks in place of rocks?

Chalk might not hold up as well in the liquids, but hey, it's science! Experiment!

Marble rocks were used for this, they are likely available at a landscaping store and it looks like on Amazon as well.
