im in a barbershop with my friends from school and we went to a camp for a weekend and these guys helped out at the camp, great singers and really nice down to earth people, haha after they performed this song for us everyone in the cabins was trying to do the theramin part hahaha, great memories :D
First of all, listeners, Vocal Spectrum is NOT just Tim; they are ALL talented musicians of unusual vocal range. But, Tim...you ARE a freak of nature. In my younger days, singing tenor cause no one else could, I had falsetto E-flats and E's when necessary, but you've reinvented the art. And loved your self-parody in this performance. Hope you guys get to Chicago soon; I'd had tickets for Saturday evening's Xmas show in St. Louis, but the snow shut us out. Major disappointment, but convinced an old friend, now a Prof at Washington U. to attend with her husband. They loved it and will be back. You guys rock. Sprinks
Lol when I met Tim for the first time I asked him about the "9 octaves" video. He gave me a wonk and said, "you tell me where you can find a 9 octave keyboard." We laughed, it was great! Lol
That's what I heard. I find it amazing too. I wouldn't be surprised to find out my sources are probably wrong. I bet his range is more like 5 or 6 octaves (which is still pretty big for those that didn't know)
I've talked to Tim before and he said that the lowest he can go is an F2 and thats in the morning. He said im able to make up for it over my high range. lol
Since posting, I've become familiar with Mr. Waurick and his phenomenal voice. With him around, there's no point in us other tenors' even getting out of bed, is there? *sigh*
Excellent rendition. They take the Beach Boys' material, do it in the same style, and still make the song their own. I don't usually approve of the sort of shenanigans the first tenor was pulling, because they can get out of hand. In this case, however, the guys don't quite overstep the bounds of taste, and the fooling around is in the spirit of the song.
While Tim is pretty amazing, it's important to note that that video is actually not serious, and was actually edited to make fun of another edited video (that it's actually a response to, though now that video has been taken down, it seems). Nevertheless, his range is insane.
I was thinking about doing this song for one of my classes with some friends. But being a tenor responsible for high notes, fuck that. I cant get that high even in my falsetto. Big ass glass of nope.
Just because a guy can sing higher then most girls or a girl singing lower than most guys dose NOT prove their masculinity or femininity. The tenor here with the jaw dropping range can sing at least 9 octaves (that's being able to go through one complete cycle, Do to Do, or Middle C to High C for example)
@whatstwins do I detect some jelousy? Just because you are talentless you insult a great preformer...Tim Waurick is one of the best barbershop singers...hands down
Totally awesome! And the "theremin guy" is unbelievable
Jonny's fifth on the last chord was rockin'. Epic performance.

I can't stop watching this video and showing it to SATB tenors. Can't tell if it's a good recruiting tool, but it is fun to see jaws drop!
The note at 2:56 is AWESOME!!! You know it's coming, but it's so important to hit it just right. Perfect!
this is my new favorite band.
absolutely stunning I wish I could witness barbershop live instead of on youtube
Awesome; worth watching twice!
LOL Tim Waurick!
DARN YOU TIM WAURWICK!!!!! You HAVE ONCE AGAIN MADE ME JEALOUS WITH YOUR EXTREMELY HIGH VOICE!!!!!!
If they played anywhere near me I would defiantly go see them. They are amazing

Tim screaming made me laugh cause he drowned out everything despite being at least a foot further away than everyone else.
Gosh, before the 16:9 aspect ratio! 2010 was AGES AGO in UA-cam-land! ;-)

Are all the AOH's Such Characters?
Wow, I haven't been keeping up on pictures or videos of Tim since 2006ish, he's lost some weight

Never underestimate Vocal Spectrum. Especially not Tim Waurrick
how the hell can the tenor get so high xD
Funny thing is, I bet your a tenor. 3/4 of males are high baritones, or tenors. With training, I'm guessing you could sing like that.
He's amazing, I agree, but he doesn't sing all 9 octaves in that video.
I can sing that top B... not the top D :(
don't fucking dis Tim Waurrick. if only you were a singer, you'd understand. and its something called falsetto. lots of famous singers can do that
@whatstwins do I detect some jelousy? Just because you are talentless you insult a great preformer...Tim Waurick is one of the best barbershop singers...hands down
Dude a piano doesn't even have 9 octaves.... Tim Waurick's good but no one's that good
